What was I thinking with this one? For some reason I've had the idea to make this video for a while and I finally decided to do it just for fun. I really want to hear what tricks you guys would put on a list like this!
P.S. I totally was being sarcastic about going to a skatepark and doing the moonwalk... please don't do it!... But, if you do, take a video and send it to me.

I've been riding a skateboard for 34 years and I've learned over the years that there are no stupid tricks in skateboarding. You get on the board, learn new tricks and land anything, or just even cruise around and have fun. The possibilities are endless. Everyone has a different style. "Stupid tricks" are awesome tricks for some than others. Different stokes for different folks I guess!

The bunny hop is a freestyle trick called the “Yo-yo Hop”
He showed more than half of his freestyle tricks in his video and called them stupid. Although he himself was stupid, because he does not know that the tricks he showed in freestyle are used exclusively in a bunch of tricks and it looks really impressive.
Coffin: for when you are too tired to skate but want to do something with on your skateboard😂
Living in the Midwest where people have large vehicles, we used to coffin underneath cars in parking lots. I thought it was fun at least
Its also used for gatherings when people do that down a hill in rememberance for a skater that they knew died
“Monster walk” is actually a great way to gain some control, balance and confidence on a board. Just sayin
When I first started skating. I remember my friend's calling it Toy Soldier...It made sense to me...

It’s a good way for people to recreate this tricks to make am look cooler with a variation for ex: boneless tricks look cooler with variations
one person's "stupid trick" is another person's "genius out of the box maneuver". all depends on the steeze you execute with, and how you manage to mix it in your set.

Coconut wheelie is actually a pretty cool trick but when you do it for 2-4 secs.

The coconut wheelie was the first trick I learned. Not for turning, but just for going in straight lines. Instead of leaning forward, I leaned backwards and just cruised on 2 wheels.

The monster walk is actually useful, I don’t consider it a trick but when you land of a Jump or flip I monster walk to keep my balance when I lean to much to one side.

when i was a high schooler, me and my friend used to warm up with that "Monster Walk" before practicing tricks. it didn't have a name that time, so of course we never considered it as a trick, it's just "a way" to warm up and get used to stay on the board.

I noticed a lot of these looked rather like "70s" era skating tricks?
Even if these are "dumb" it would be good to have in one's repertoire IMHO.
Reso Factor my father grew up skating in the seventies and there were multiple things he showed me in this video from back in the day

@@biohazard724 Right? I figured this went out since skating has been declawed and made into a safe wholesome family sport with designated parks complete with soccer moms taking turns dropping the kids off. 90% of modern skaters would have been considered posers when this term was applicable.

Technically it's a Nollie Truck Stand if I'm not mistaken. Anti Casper would be front foot on the graphic side nose and the back foot on the grip side lifting up from the center or towards the back bolts.
One time me and a group of friends were going down the road when we saw a group of joggers up ahead so we all got in a line across the street and monster walked towards the joggers they were so confused

If I remember right, the daffy, bunny hop and coffin were featured tricks in a first year issue of Skateboarding Magazine. The bunny hop was different- both feet between the trucks and one hand on either end of the board.
I remember three other tricks from that article. Two of them could have replaced a couple of the tricks on this video, the third is pretty cool. The Christy, the Catamaran and the Samoan Squat.
The Christy- squatting low on the board extend out one leg to the outside of a turn and do a turn. Actually pretty fun, since your head and body are so low to the ground. Not a bad learning trick or something to do to warm up. It can also be made more challenging by extending out the one leg and then lowering into a squat position.
The Catamaran - there is nothing redeemable about this trick. Two skaters sit on their boards facing each other, feet on the other person's deck grabbing each other's elbows. For forward momentum you will want to do this on a hill or have someone push you.
The Samoan Squat- get in position to do a two footed nose wheelie, squat down and do a nose wheelie. For variation, squat incompletely and lower into a full squat. To achieve master level at this trick lower in to a squat while doing a two footed nose wheelie and rise back up while doing the same wheelie.
The Christy and the Samoan Squat, like most of the ones in the video can be pushed to a more difficult level. The Monster was something I used to do in our driveway trying to wheelie a couple of feet on each pivot.

The "forward facing anti-casper" is what we used to call a "ghost flip" back in the way back days, and before we all saw Mullen do a flatland ollie(shout out to Athlete's Foot Tulsa for brining him to town), that bunny hop was hella popular in my neighborhood, bonus points if you did it off a small plywood ramp propped up on a cinder block. In fact, just about your entire list was in the pre-ollie playbook. Things changed after Mullen came to town.

3. the "daffy" got popularized as the "yeah right" in the thps games but it was definitely an old school trick called "daffy" way back in the 60's or 70's.
4. there is a fine line between a coconut wheelie and a primo slide.

"Monster walk" has instead been called the tic tac by many pro skateboarders
tic tac usually consist of sliding your wheels on the ground slightly which can be used to gain speed - its inefficient though for speed

i honestly don't mind them at all. when i mentioned them at the end it was because people always say that tricks like varial flips and pressure flips are the worst, but i do them both all the time

Normally its when someone who is fluent with their tre flips, it not really hate its just a bit more effort trying not to over rotate. Well that's how I see it in my eyes since I just never do them. I just feel really sloppy doing them.
