Are you still reading this?! If so, type "I am Jack's spoiler alert" in the comments below!! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
What's really funny about Fight Club is that Edward Norton's character has no real name in the credits. It just says "Narrator"
Caleb Underwood it’s jack in the script, but in the comic sequel he’s called serbastion
And in the novel he has no name absolutely
His name in the movie is Tyler durden.
When he asks Marla what’s my name she says it.
drew pedersen maybe tyler was feeling very lonely
@drew pedersen Jack is based off the book series he reads 'I am jacks liver' etc.
In my headcanon, the "Tyler" on the airport moving sidewalk was a real guy not related to the story, his appearance just stuck with the narrator to create Tyler Durden. He's going the other way along the concourse and yet ends up on the same plane?
That would actually make a lot of sense, kind of like how your brain builds locations in dreams for real places you've been. 'Jack' probably looked at him for a moment, mentally commented on him, and then forgot about him entirely; not even realizing what he'd set in motion for himself.
That's an AMAZING theory!!!!
Tho but we saw Tyler flashes before, in the group meetings
I guess but I still don't get how the narrator makes soap and the thing that burns his hand
Same.
"Other repressed fantasies like punching Jared Leto in the face"
My sides...
🤣😆😬😫😭
After his crappy Joker yes XDDD
Its definitely a cathartic release we need... Lol
I laughed at that part
Considering he's now a full-on cult leader... yes, please.
I am Jack's Missing sense of irony .Killed it
"They tear down our society of mindless consumer slaves, by building a society of mindless ACTUAL slaves"
lol you totally nail it there.
lol 😂😂🤣🤣
Mindless slaves with a mission to destroy the MASS corporate entity of mindless consumerism slaves.
Lesser of two evils perhaps. Or for the greater good type of scenario. Lol
😂
Actually he shot himself in the face to take control of his own life, not to run from pain but to embrace it as part of being alive. When Tyler burned his hand he tried to close his eyes, meditate his way out of the pain wich makes Tyler mad because he was "wasting the best moment of his life", that's why right before he shoots himself he says to Tyler "My eyes are open"
damn you are good i never realize that even i have watch 2 times
Yeah, he´s all about "See, Tyler, I UNDERSTAND that you are me, I UNDERSTAND that I have to face the consequences of my deeds, I UNDERSTAND that I will someday die, maybe right now." when he pulls the trigger.
***** Philosophy is keep ask questions i mean endless questions
Yeah I can see all that but having schizophrenia he chose to shoot himself in the face VS what John Nash did in A beautiful Mind which was live with it lol.
Also...shooting himself was 'hitting bottom'. Once he hit bottom, he didn't need Tyler anymore.
"We are totally about to break the first rule, aren't we?"
As well as the second one bro
@Jack Black we're not supposed to say🤫, but its very similar to another rule...🤔
Watching Leto getting punched became even more enjoyable after Suicide Squad.
Luciano Bradley Hahaha
bastard, you beat me to it
You didn't like methed out joker?
@The commentarr • Regret is a bit of a strong word, but I see your point.
Yes
I'm jack's spoiler alert
And I downloaded that pixie song
i bought the CD, and all their discography
@@adawb9520 what's it called?
@@jeepersmcgee3466 "Where is my mind?" I bought tickets to see them at a concert because of that one song though, so I think that evens out downloading it.
I was expecting to really hate this but i agree 100% with all their minor criticisms of the movie. It's kind of a rorshach test in that you could take almost anything away from it. In the end the narrator realizes that Tyler Durden isn't who he wants to be. You could give weight to that or not.
It would be lovely to see a crossover fanfiction in which tyler is sent to foster's home for imaginary friends after leaving the narrator.
And start an underground fight club in the basement with bloo
so much yes on this happening!
I bet someone already wrote that
Isabelle Pinkamena oh my gawd Tyler Durden meets Drop Dead Fred!
Now that's a shitty movie that I would actually pay to see.
Brad Pitt was born to play Tyler Durden
thats just edward what are you talking about
Mickey will fight you for it.
@@davidwuhrer6704 for a caravan for his ma
The purpose of the movie wasn't to criticise capitalism. It was predominately a commentary on masculinity in the late 20th century. The men in the film felt trapped within monotonous, unfulfilling lives, and so decided to take their frustrations out against the system. Personally, I don't interpret it as a film that advocates anarchism, instead I see it as a portrayal of men who are desperately seeking a sense of purpose in life, a higher mission.
Exactly, a very big part of the point was that Tyler was wrong and hypocritical.
But just like a good cult leader, there's just enough truth in what he says that you find yourself listening. That's a big part of the reason people still find the movie and it's message interesting; even now, when the world is very different, there are truths to be found in Tyler's message.
I'd almost say that the central theme is "Don't put too much stock in what anyone says, listen to everyone and pick your own ideas."
scaper8 Tyler's hypocrisy certainly comes from the Narrator's conflicting ideas over what he deems to be the perfect man. He wants to be completely opposed to the norms of society. Free of from rules, capitalism, consumerism, work, etc. While simultaneously wishing to reflect societies ideals in terms of physical appearance, an attractive face, a good hairstyle, trendy clothing, and a muscular physique. He has numerous avenues of income that are generated via work and capitalist ventures. And importantly, his organisation is heavily based around strict rules.
This is clearly deliberate. At no point does Tyler suggest that he has fully realized his philosophy. He always makes it clear that he's trying to hit bottom, achieving it is an ongoing process. He's on a journey, and he wishes to take everyone else on that journey with him.
on the serious side note, my interpretation of these movie is just about men being bored. its like they build their own KND-kind of organisation. it felt like they just did for the lulz.
Jhaedi Avila Well yes, fancy analysis aside, that's what it all boils down to.
I agree with you, and might add that it's also making a commentary criticizing self-righteous anarchistic ideals that obviously lead to the same results of mindless, monotonous lives via following some leader who spits out anti-establishment garbage made to sound clever and "deep". People who attack the movie for in their eyes putting forth some kind of "romanticism of anarchy that is hypocritical" seem to not take the next step in recognizing that the director, screenwriters, actors, etc. are THOROUGHLY AWARE of the hypocrisy, and that the point of the movie is to showcase that hypocrisy.
This honest trailer was so full of pure genius I can't even...

I didn't knew there was a time travel who watched morbius and commented this ( 3:30 ) 7 yrs ago 🤯
The film was well aware of the irony in its product placement. That’s why it has a Starbucks cup in literally every scene. People forget that the film is a parody, but the best parody’s always get taken seriously so 🤷♂️
I love the new sound CZcams makes when you "like" a comment!
Fuck off, you put the same comment on their other videos.

Hmm..It appears that indeed I have.
I like the sound it makes when I dislike one too
You, sir, are going places. Didn't work with me but nice attempt.
It's called "Darude" by this band called ….
for the billionth time: the reason shooting himself made Tyler go away is that the narrator genuinely thought he would kill himself by doing that, and his real mental willingness to die to get rid of Tyler proved he didn't need Tyler anymore. so when he proved that to himself mentally it made the physical manifestation of Tyler go away too.
while we're at it, the reason the Hulk is magically friendly in the second half of the Avengers but not the first: because when Banner is forced to become Hulk from stress, he's crazy. but when he DECIDES to transform into Hulk, he has control
Especially annoying when the Incredible Hulk's ending more or less shows us exactly that
Sharkey3331 Sad thing is people try so hard to forget that that movie is part of the Avengers anthology.
LMFAO! The reason Banner is able transform at will is it was convenient to the script, just like the way they can all talk to each other during the battle finale without any com devices. Don't try to find sense or consistency in this Marvel popcorn comic; you will make yourself look like an even bigger fool than you already do.
T Flangdoogler just because most people are too dumb to understand something doesn't mean it isn't blatantly obvious. a lot of people are too dumb to understand obvious things. and if nobody cares then why the fuck are you responding

Fight Club really is a product of its time.
It's more relevant today than ever.
It was ahead of its time TBH
I see what you did there.
A lot of Fight Club fans seem to forget that the actual point of the book is to show how horrible of a person Tyler actually is, and why all the ideals he spouts aren't actually the best, if you think about it hard enough.
Yeah, feels weird that only by reading the book you can start to reason that...
@@t.a.t.u._enjoyer9884 Especially since that's made pretty clear in the movie...
You get no women
Bruh stop over thinking
The actual point of the book is : don't let you control by consumerism, but be careful, because the path to liberty could bring you to an over dystopia if you chose to follow new leaders, true emancipation is thinking by yourself.
Tyler is a anarchist leader, do you see the scam ?
He got credits because he is fighting against a rotten system, but it never answer if his ideals are good or not, it just says his methods and motivations are bad for sure, that's the reason of the open end.
Tyler being a horrible person is not the point of the book, it's just an archetype planted to make a point.

“ But since he’s so hot, barely anyone will realize he’s a total hypocrite”
"Enter the secret world of Fight club, the only place where modern men release their violent urges except for boxing, wrestling, football, MMA, gun ranging, action movies, videogames, hunting, hardcore hip hop, war."
OMG, I'm dying! LOL
Modern men don't release their urges doing all of those activities. They're on the couch watching real men do it.
And mosh pits
@@jasonetter9171 Doing an activity and watching someone else do the activity basically do the same thing to your brain. That's why you cry when you watch sad stuff, and that's why it's more satisfying to watch people unpacking new product on youtube than doing it yourself. That's also why visualisation and probably hypnosis works so well to treat behaviour disorders.

Man, this has to be one of the best honest trailers i've seen here.. it's on point.
I downloaded the Pixis song off Napster, weeks before getting banned for downloading a Metallica song. I won't click like though, as Fight Club taught me you are not the number of likes your video receives.
FlyingPaladin We live in a society
You messed up junkies...
You are not the number of likes on your comment.
It's like your opinion man.
i got mine from eMule.
Napster was pretty dead when i was building my collection.
Man that building shot would never have flown two years later.

the product placement was intentional and ironic, not actual product placement.
fun fact, starbucks were fine with the cups being everywhere, but when they destroy the "franchise coffee bar" it was supposed to be a starbucks but they couldn't get permission, so it was fake franchise name
+BattMarn You really think they didn't get paid for the placement?
You talk out of your ass
+BattMarn This movie isn't really anti-capitalist. It is more about moderation as we see by the hypocritical extremes Durden went to...and ultimately that is why he had to go.
+Eric Steffe I believe the plan with project Mayhem was to blow up the credit card companies and somehow reset debt in the US. So it is anti capitalist.
Project Mayhem was surely anti-capitalist..but the message of the movie itself isn't that Project Mayhem was doing the right thing. People just took that and ran with it because Brad Pitt is so cool.
"Punching Jared Leto in the face..."
I died at that part.
Especially after watching 2016 Suicide Squad
Actually Tyler gives a lot of rules to his followers in hopes that they will break them and that brings them a step closer to freedom.
No, that would almost make sense.
If that was his goal, he should have used Erisian dialectic instead.
Lol that’s a cult.

@@brucelucasjr6019 Jared Leto is beautiful. Or at least he was back when he was Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life in the mid 90s. God was that a great time to be alive.
OK I CONFESS I DOWNLOADED THIS OFF NAPSTER 19 YEARS AGO DURING MY FIRST YEAR OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. GESUS IM OLD. P.S. I truly miss the dorm days watching FC, jackass, rounders, office space, and snatch. Early 2000s were awesome now I just work all the time and pay bill's between single serving interactions with actual humans.
I downloaded it using bearshare or kazaa wasnt a big fan of napster. But i know exactly how you feel, maybe its time to start my own fight club for the college students who had that poster on their wall who are know stuck in the exact lives we told ourselves we would never be stuck with
This is one of the best ones they've ever done!

This movie is so intricate. Every time I watch it, it's a different experience. They do a really good job of putting Palahniuk's satire onto the screen.
It's 2021 and this movie is still a masterpiece! Thank you Fincher for making this film!
"The only thing they like more than violence and chaos is following the rules". To whoever writes those Honest Trailers bits: you, are good.

Ah Jesus I did download that pixies song off napster. Probably took 3 hours in my dorm in 2000. You earned your like.
One of my all time favorite, could watch it over and over again ❤️❤️❤️ honestly, takes me 2 times to really get the story, lol
Great video...but the "introducing Happy Feet" at the end made me smile out loud
Alright guys, i'm just letting you know that fight club isn't actually a movie that's about anti-capitalism. It's about people who aimlessly follow someone in order to have a better life. Tyler used their need of becoming a hero instead of being random guys in the system to forge his chaotic sense of order. With Tyler's charm they were so eagerly following him and becoming his personal slaves without even questioning what the hell are they're doing. Basic human nature actually.
It's not an irony of the movie folks, it's what the movie is about. And it's still one of the best movies i've ever watched.
Shut up, bitch. Best movie you've ever watched. Tasty opinion for a soft coated bitch.
At least somebody gets it. It's about a philosophical existential crisis. At no point does it claim to have a message in the sense of the characters actions, but I guess complexity doesn't make for good comedy so...
it's like if you watch the matrix and think its about computers
Thank you. Why can't intelligent movie critics come up with a funny and entertaining way to talk about movies? I like screen junkies because they're funny but their criticisms are just bs.
james branson
Yeah and besides, the movie doesn't show anarchy or relentless anti-capitalism is actually a cure for modern people's crisis. It actually tells that no matter how you live, if you don't have any sense of measure, you'll become some sort of mindless little minion of an ideology. It can be capitalism, religion, anarchy or whatsoever.
Fight Club: A movie that college bros love for the fighting and completely over look the themes of existentialism, consumerism, capitalism, and anarchism.
lol I did download Where Is My Mind off Napster. Also I never knew Jared Leto was in in this

I’m really glad that you put Pixies’ song at the end of the clip
David Fincher mentioned in the commentary how he put the pepsi and starbucks in most scenes ON PURPOSE so as to show the excessive consumerism in society.
And of course so he could afford to pay Brad Pitt.
Ironically not ironic? Sure.
I always felt like there's a very simple explanation for Durden killing the alter ego by shooting himself without dying. Since it was a product of his immagination, believing (big word in the movie - "In Tyler we trust") that the alter ego would die from that shot should be enough for it to actually happen :)
the joke about 'dallas fight club' brought back so many memories
You couldn't make that movie today, Hollywood wouldn't take such a big risk on such an unconventional movie
That's the hideous nature of films in the 21st century: Fear of risk
Even back then they didn't want to take the risk
In fact the Hollywood executives were so sure it was going to flop that they ended up marketing it as a wrestling movie.
Unfortunately the mediocre publicity budget and bad marketing ended up causing the movie to flop it only became a cult hit later on
Unfortunately it's far safer to make sequels, re-boots, and superhero movies.
Thvndar its just a mediocre movie about first word problems

Really got me there. Literally downloaded the Pixie song from Napster after the show.
"He is a normal guy with a steady job, a nice condo and plenty of free time, which in the late nineties means there is something horrible with your life" LOL !!! So true those movies...
Oh napster, those where the days :3
RIP napster
StudioInkblot huh?
StudioInkblot oh
+Electro-Cute whats the name of the song its very familiar but can't remember it
It still exists on Wii U
Norton's reaction expression in this clip is priceless lmao
Oh man Napster. A blast from the past.
No, what are you doing?
Never talk about Fight Club!
Good one
The message of a movie isn't important. You think a movie is going to change your life but the next day you already forgot about it. What's important is that you enjoyed experiencing the movie. Stop looking for a message and start enjoying yourself.
AMEN
ever heard of fandoms?
PULP FICTION already
One of the best HT's!
I am Jack's spoiler alert!
You mean "I am Jack's other alter ego wich watchs honest trailers without watching the movie first" ?
My generation was obsessed with this movie, and while it was better than I first expected, it's ultimately about a schizophrenic in a mutually abusive relationship who starts a terrorist organization. No wonder kids today are screwed up.
I am Jack's lost sense of irony.....
Robert Holmes Top line of the video!!! "I am Jack's lost sense of irony..... "
Generations rebel against the things they see themselves becoming-but inevitably become those things anyway. The Baby Boomers brought us "love and harmony and communalism" and then became the most selfish, short-sighted generation in history. Generation X brought us angst about giant corporatism and media-controlled lives, then proceeded to lead us into the current era of ultra-refined, over-produced culture. Millennials don't seem to be worried about very much in particular: maybe they've got it figured out.
Sarah Maybe they figure its already taken care of (ie fucked up) and they don't have to do anything!!!
How does this movie screw kids up? It's not real. It's a movie.
you got me with Napster lol
Favorite favorite movie ever
The nostalgia hits hard in this video. I totally was obsessed with "Where is My Mind" after this movie.
Please say:
"The only movie better than Last Airbender...was After Earth"
maaaaan thats eeeeeeeeeevil
but its true ._.
And then say:"But let's be honest, they both sucked."
Dirnehviir Soul Trapper A LOT! :c
the last airbender can be fixed doing an anime movie, ITS THAT HARD!!!??? instead after earth... maybe.... have nothing to fixed its just fuck ._.
There's just all to much to fix in after earth.i'd rather just forget it,myself.
This may be the best Honest Trailer ever!
Going to watch Happy Feet now, thanks.
