I just replicated that pantsuit and T-shirt look with a "vintage" (in my wardrobe for years) grey Anne Klein pantsuit with a white T and white sneakers. I put a silver swan pin on the lapel of the jacket and wore silver hoops and a very thin silver necklace. I'm 75 years old and loved this look. One tip - I buy t-shirts with a bit more length on the sleeve or 3/4 length sleeve.
And a V-neck.

After watching a number of these videos, I was sorting through some of my old shirts the other day and my daughter asked why I decided not to keep one. I said, "if it's not a wow, why keep it?" This video was so much fun! I felt like I was hanging out with my best girlfriend just laughing and playing dress-up! You are such a joy Marie-Anne! And the number of white T-shirt outfits you created will keep me dressed stylishly for at least a month!! 😎 I also learned a new technique for the scarf as a front “partial belt” and will definitely pick up some arm bands since I’ve tried stretched out hair bands that are always still too tight! I like the assessment - "If it's not a wow, it's a non" - I like the strappy sandals! Would also like loafers. Love the scarf! Scarves are fun! I love accessories!!! I make jewelry with beads, gemstones, and metal chains - really add to a simple outfit! A white T-shirt is the perfect blank canvas. LOVE the pop of color with the white shirt and jeans! The red or pink is excellent! And thank you for the tip of the bands to keep the sleeves up!

I loved seeing your great shoe collection with a simple white T. I'm 67 and frankly, I've never liked wearing heels. I walk too much on uneven Boston sidewalks, in huge stores, plus I enjoy nature walks. But I love seeing others wear them! I guess, for me, I'm more of a bag lady. Lol. But despite being a sneakers/loafers kind of gal, I love layering of top shirts, jean jackets, a trench coat, tasteful jewelry, hats, belts, scarves, tucking in shirts, etc.-- and a red lip!

Oh Marie-Anne I’m so glad I found your channel ( and am now subscribed!) I love how you have fun with your clothes. I didn’t come from a family with money. As child number 7, I was stuck with many hand me downs all my young life. I learned to play with what I had to make the most of it and to look good. I’ve grown up playing with clothes all my life and now at age 50 ish…ahem….okay, 52- I’m now styling my friends, my daughter and my daughters friends. LOL I tell everyone that clothes are my hobby and I absolutely love a great outfit. I love the solid blue button up shirt long on you instead of tied. The red is gorgeous as well,. It looks so good with your red lipstick. The pink blazer I would wear over my shoulders only.
This is fun. We usually don't remember or have the patience to do something like this. But it works. Trying out one different piece at a time, shows the different looks you can get. Changing the shoes or the trousers or the blousse completly changed the vibe of a plain simple white t-shirt.
I did the same exercize with a wide black A-line skirt. The material is kinda velvety. Nice shoes and a top: office look. Add jewellery and a fancy bag: it's party time. Dress down with a white t-shirt and white sneakers: casual look.
It's the best thing to do for those difficult pieces. A challenging colour or print or shape. Try different combinations. You'll be surprised.
White T-shirts are a must in my closet since I was a teenager and still they are.
You really showed that T-shirts never look boring or frumpy if we add the elements to upgrade them and look always perfectly chic.
During summer here I love wearing them but by adding a cotton light scarf or a slightly oversized shirt instead of a jacket, the look changes totally.
Accessories, taste and attitude change everything! And oh yes Birkenstock are ugly!😹

I love this format , I do own a pair of shoes that are like Birkenstock I wear them when I garden mine are covered with rhinestones when the sun hits them it adds magic to my gardening experience so ,I have shoes for occasions . This inspire me to love my clothes I really need help , I have so many clothes but feel I have nothing to wear , menopause has not helped , thank you for your inspiration !!!

I wasn't sure I would like this video because I actually don't think I have a white T-shirt but all the little tips were very engaging. I've been over 50 for some time and so I now embrace it and I feel with all the little touches that you gave to each outfit that a woman can look like a mature woman but look pulled together and elegant in the most minimalist of clothing. Marie-Anne, I loved this video so much and wanted to thank you for the inspiration you gave me. I have followed your videos for a long time and always love them and I admire your style and the pillars you promote of keep it simple, less is more and quality over quantity. They are what I was brought up with even though I am British and not French. However, I have never been able to pull off the absolute classics especially black, navy, stark white etc. and this has been disappointing for me as I would like to collect pieces over time that can all go together. I have tried a white T-shirt so many times and started watching your video thinking, it’s not for me. BUT. When you wore it with the green trousers I realised I could do that. My colour palette is warm and I have some beautiful khaki trousers from Toast. They looked amazing with a winter white, light T-shirt and I realised that I can collect my own style pieces that will last and last and that I will wear for years. It just has to be in my own style and colours such as olive, saffron, etc such as things from Toast which are investment pieces and which I adore. A different style from French chic but with a lot of the same principles. Thank you so much again Marie-Anne

I was about to recycle a v-neck buttoned down blouse. I loved the pattern/fabric but didn’t like the v-neck on me. I’ve now put a white t-shirt underneath and use the blouse as on over shirt and voila it looks great! I’ve also started to tuck in my shirts more instead of wearing them untucked and I can see a very chic difference. Thanks for the great pointers!

Today I did style a white t-shirt with dark jeans, a scarf and a lovely short navy blue blazer and for shoes I work a pair of red sandals. You are so right…. Shoes can make an outfit. I had fun putting this together. I will have to purchase a man’s tie to try with an outfit.❤️

Great tips, Marie-Anne. I adore my Birkies for summer, but only for puttering around the house and garden. Steggmann wool clogs for home in the winter, always. When I go out somewhere, I like nicer shoes, preferably with about 2 inches of height. I totally agree about the t-shirts, I always tuck mine in, as I do for all my tops. I’m not thin, but it improves the proportions so much, and flatters the figure so much, more than frumpy, over-the-tummy long tops, they look grannyish and make legs look stumpy.
