We have 21 hours on our 1025R and so far we love it. I would have like to have went a little bigger so I could move round bales with it, but we have an older 2020 for that. Man it's nice for cleaning under the barn... Great little tractor. Love the videos. Wish I would have found them before I bought. Might have got a used one instead...

Enjoyed your video. I have a 2019 1023e, 120r loader and 60" mower deck. I absolutely love this little tractor. I added LED's to the ROPS using magnets, These are so helpful illuminating the front at night when using the bucket Ii.e. snow revoval, etc.). Looks to me like the lights on the 1025r fenders are useless being blocked by the Loader mounting posts (just and observation). My 1023e serves my purposes perfectly and I am convinced that "NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE"...

As for the horsepower difference, it's very noticeable in hilly conditions. Maybe not so much in the flat mid west, but definitely here in PA.
Hang a 60" mower deck on both and start mowing grass up a 12-15% grade and you feel it. Add a power flow bagger, even on a 54" deck but more so with the 60". and you can pretty easily bring the 1023E to it's knees going uphill. The engine cc's are 993 vs. 1,267 (about 27% more displacement on the 1025R).
The dealership I work at sells about 3 or 4 1025R's for every 1023E, depending on the promotions Deere is running. Those promotions often vary considerably in favor of the 1023E, being a price/value leader in the lineup. Full MSRP is currently a difference of $1,955, but actual discounted selling price is typically more like a $2,500 gap. But again, that varies due to a bunch of different factors.
Tool boxes are now standard on the 1023E.
List of 1025R upgrades over 1023E, in no particular order.
    27% more engine displacement
    Position control 3 point hitch
    Suspension seat with armrests
    Tilt steering wheel
    Cruise control
    12v outlet
    Extra fender mounted lights
    Rubber floor mat
Extra trim around fenders and floorboard
    Available with factory installed cab
    Available with factory installed backhoe

Recently after dad lost a leg been asking few people if it was possible to mount the step on a 260B backhoe onto an older 260 with some modifications. Figure that’s cheaper than just buying a new machine. I just thought of ordering the step anyway then just see how to make it work. On a tractor time with Tim video on the step at 1st think he misunderstood my reasoning for the idea and suggested Ken’s bolt on hook step. I replied back saying I don’t think Ken’s steps would work with dad’s handicap. Even though dad lost a leg he still has a knack for driving tractors, missing leg ain’t gonna stop him

Just can't understand why the rops are tilted forward when up, better coverage or protection maybe? I dunno just looks odd . $1800 for a swivel kit?! He recently bought a 6' Bush Hog. Both PTO of course. It really does a nice job. No stray long grass. Almost looks like a finish mower. However, it is digging the crap out of a driveway when he swings it around.

Sorry I should have watched the full video, You answered my question already. I need a trust worthy JD dealer, I have a JD dealer 2 miles from my house and I can't trust them to work on my tractor. It,s 4x4 and I had a front wheel bearing went out so I took it to them. They called me after they took it apart and said it will be 1200 dollar. I was like wow, But they already had it and it was apart in their shop. So they call and said it's done come and pick it up, So i did. took it off my trailer and used it for less than 5 min and it started making a grinding noise in that same front hub. So i pulled it in my shop and drained the diff gear oil so I could pull it apart, And they put used motor oil in my front diff instead of new gear oil. then I pulled the hub off and they did not even install the new bearing. And it scored the hub housing and chewed up the gears. I did not trust them at this point they might have said something else was wrong and charge me another 1200 to do nothing. So I took the hub back to them in a box and they gave me new parts and I installed them myself. And I told them to change all the bearing and they didn't because i'm still having other bearings going bad. And I didn't make a big deal out of it when I was there. But every since that time when I go in there to buy parts they charge me some crazy prices. At this point I wish I had bought something other than John Deere.

@@GoodWorksTractors I live in Ontario, Canada and purchased a 1023E in spring 2018. Traded in my JD2210 with soft side Curtis cab. My dealer did install the Mauser on it for me --- expensive though, but wanted rear wiper and opening rear window. The price difference was about $4000 between 1023E & 1025R, so put difference towards the cab. There was a problem with no cab heat, and they told me they had to make a different connection to the engine block.
The 1023E and the 1025R have 2 different Yanmar engines.
I use mine exclusive for snow - have an HLA 1000 series 60"" hydraulic angle (use the Artillian diverter valve) snow blade on the 120R loader and a 50"" Buhler blower on the 3pt hitch. The one thing I miss is down float on the 3pt hitch. Have never had any traction issues with turf tires - they're basically a snow tire tread. Power wise - no problems - the hydrostatic transmission allows full throttle snow blowing at any ground speed.

Hello, I am currently shopping for a tractor and I'm hesitating between the 1023E and 1025R. My personal use would mostly be maintenance of my lawn and a bit of gardening and earthwork. Both models are almost identical except for some small options not important to me. But the two main points that make me hesitate between the two models is the seat and the adjustment of the variable 3 points hitch control for the 25R. Maybe at some point I will buy a tiller and a land plane but for now I will get the mower and front loader. But is it really worth it for $2000 or will the 1023E do the job for me? Thank you and love your channel

1025R is worth every penny over the 1023. They make the 1023 look appealing with the price on the commercials but dont mention it has no loader or ANY features like mower deck. By the time you add the loader and mower you near the 1025R price. I bought my 1025R with the quick attach loader and 60 inch deck for 17,000 out the door. Hell the seat alone is worth the money LOL. That 1023 without the suspension seat would beat the living hell out of you. Using the loader with tires inflated to full load is a pretty rough ride and you will be thankful you bought the 1025R with the suspension seat to absorb the bombs and jars.
