Stained glass of kumiko and shoji 組子細工と和紙でステンドグラスみたいなのを作ってみた

- 組子細工に和紙を貼って、ステンドグラス風に仕上げてみました。「木材」と「和紙」の組み合わせは、通常の「ガラス」と「鉄」の組み合わせのステンドグラスとはまた違った雰囲気で、全体的にやわらかな印象になりました。
現代の住宅がどんなに洋風になろうとも、やはり日本人は「和」が落ち着く。作っててそんな風に感じました。
I tried to paste washi paper on a boxwork and finished it like a stained glass. The combination of "wood" and "washi" became a soft impression on the whole with a different atmosphere from the stained glass of the usual combination of "glass" and "iron".
Regardless of how Western style modern houses are, the Japanese will settle "Wa" as well. I made it and felt that way. - Věda a technologie

コメントありがとうございます。返信遅くてすみません。時間がたてば和紙は傷んでくると思います。しかしどんな物でも時が経てば傷むものですので。その時は貼り換えですね。

だけどまだ高校生だし、女だし、今の時代だと高卒じゃダメだと思うから他にやりたい事見つけようとしてるけどこういう動画見るとやっぱ好きだな〜って思ってしまう…

こういった職人の世界はぶっちゃけ学歴は関係ないです。本人のやる気さえあれば良い職人になれます。
ですが、その道のりが険しいんですよね・・。何度も怒られて、何度も失敗して、本当に自分のやる気と経験がモノを言う世界です。

TA KA 私の親も建具職人、職人歴60年ぐらい、現役でやってますよ！
機械は1500万ぐらい投資して、組子から全ての建具が制作できます！
職人なる方はいないですね〜
今はメーカー既製品が多くて。日本家屋が建たないからね〜岐阜県でやってます

"Kumiko" is made not to break without using adhesive.
Accurate processing is important for that.
It also has to do with strength.

Wow! I saw the finished panel. Beautiful. The colored rice paper looks great. Is the wood also painted or dyed?

Japanese paper is pasted on the back of kumiko.
The wood is not painted. It is a natural color.
Very very impressive. I really like the colored versions at the end. I have a few questions regarding the process. Do you use glue when assembling as others do in their videos, I didn't see any applied. Also, do you make all grid work the same size and change the frame dimensions to fit them - or change grid size to the project? Was this a screen that is back lit with colored paper behind it? Great work!!

Of course, adhesive is used. The video skips these steps.
The frame was made according to "kumiko".
The background color is Japanese paper "wasi". It does a very good job.

I wonder if you would ever teach a short workshop? I have made simple asanoha patterned ones with chisel hand plane and saw, but would like to learn the more complex patterns, using traditional methods.
thank you for your comment. There is currently no plan to hold a workshop. I'm sorry. Tools for making Kumiko are difficult to obtain even in Japan. So you have to do it yourself. Do your best.
