    How many feet would you say you used for the 2x1 tubes for walls and also the 2x2 tubes for the roof?
    I've been wanting to turn my flat bed into enclosed for awhile but your videos are the only help i can find for doing a conversion

    I am planning to build one. What are some setbacks you have encountered and what things do you think can be improved?

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před 3 lety +2

      I wish I had build the frame a little lighter (I have a plasma, so I wish that I had cut out a pattern to lighten the 7" main beams). I also wish that I spent more time on making the front of the trailer more aerodynamic. Also, the 4'x8' overlapped roof sheets leak some water sometimes, despite the caulking (but that's not a big deal for me because almost everything is metal inside the trailer. Buying a one piece aluminum roof would be better. Good luck.

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před 11 měsíci

      I don’t need the foam for what I use the trailer for, but it would be easy to add if someone wanted to.

    I see all the i-beams and those are extremely heavy, you're talking 30 lb per beam? plus 50 for the long i beams and 40 for the cross sections what are you at like 600 lb already? at least?

    • @rgsabat
      @rgsabat  Před rokem

      main c-channel beams are 9.8 lbs per foot, there are no i-beams. If I wanted a light weight trailer, I would have bought one already built from a random company. This is a 14k custom trailer built to haul heavy loads
