Hopefully you'll never find yourself in a falling elevator or facing an angry bear, or lost in the middle of a desert, or suffering from a frostbite. However, if something dangerous happens, it's important to know how to act in such situations. You never know what life's preparing for you. In order to be forearmed and ready to face any situations on your way, check out these survival tips that might save your life one day.
For example, do you know that one of the main rules you should follow in a falling elevator, is not to stand up straight. One more rule is not to jump... ever! Jumping will not save your life. The best option is to lie flat on the floor. This position will distribute the force across your entire body. And one more obvious but important thing: don't panic!

I heard to not make eye contact and back away (facing the bear) at an angle, slowly, quietly with your head down.
They should smell you way before you see them and get out of your path (or hear you- keep bells on a walking stick or sing on the path) so if you happen upon one it’s a surprise for them too, and that’s not so great if it’s a mom with her babies.
I heard only to tell, look big, and fight back if it growls or make a false run (they mostly never go all the way) at you.
Can anyone confirm this or tell us all better? Our human development is encroaching the woods fast & the chance to come across a dumpster-addicted black bear is pretty great these days. They walk through cities now

In case I do survive, I'd rather not end up like Christopher Reeves and potentially snap my spinal cord from the neck down. Body injury/pain may require surgeries and be healed but a snapped spinal cord is permanent.

If you are with a friend and a bear gets up on his legs and starts yelling, hop on your partners shoulders and try to yell louder.
What will happen?: since you are taller and louder the bear will think that he is no match for you and he will either leave or he will start making his territory.
How do I know this?: my grandpa was a Russian hunter and he has encountered with this before
With all do respect to your grandpa he was a Trained hunter. I do believe this may be true. Its just if im with a friend lets my bestie and we see a bear. The 1st thing you ill say is hey let me get on your shoulders lol. We wld both be terrified to try that. Im just a regular person dropping and trying to be nonexistent and not a threat is easier and safer to me. But thanks for the info. I hope non of us have to be in the position to choose though.

I got trapped in an elevator.
Scariest moment of my life.
Even though I knew someone would find me; something about being trapped in a boxed in area, with a random old man and my two year old baby brother really freaked me out! I called my mom (who was doing something else before she came up.) No answer. I called my sister. No answer. My heart was racing and my mind was freaking out. I felt so trapped, and alone. the only person has left to call was the police. My mom called me back before I decided to call the police, and I had remembered that the buttons on the outside seem to work fine, but the inside buttons didn't do anything, so I told her to just come to the elevator and push the button, so she did and the doors opened. I almost cried in relief (and did end up crying.)
I still don't go in elevators by myself. I'll take the stairs.

Well, you can fix a flat tire without a pump 😊!
Step 1
Turn the cap of the compressed air inflator counterclockwise by hand and remove the cap. Tip the other end of the inflator up and retrieve the CO2 cartridge and inflator fitting from inside the inflator tube.
Step 2
Remove the valve cap from the valve stem on the bike tire. Thread one end of the inflator fitting clockwise onto the valve stem. Tighten the fitting by hand.
Step 3
Insert the neck of the CO2 cartridge into the open end of the inflator fitting. Grip the fitting with one hand, push the cartridge into the fitting and turn it clockwise until you hear the compressed airflow.
Step 4
Hold the cartridge in place and inflate the tire for several seconds. Turn the cartridge counterclockwise until the airflow stops. Squeeze the tire by hand to check for inflation level. Turn the cartridge clockwise again and add more air if necessary.
Step 5
Unscrew the cartridge from the inflator fitting. Unscrew the fitting from the valve stem. Replace the cartridge and fitting into the inflator tube. Replace the valve cap on the valve stem.
Tip
CO2 dissipates quickly -- in as little as 24 hours, so be sure to replace CO2 in your bike tire with regular air as soon as possible.
Tube inflators with control valves make the job of replacing tubes before tire inflation easier.
Warning
Replace a damaged tube before using your tire inflator to prevent having another flat tire just a short distance down the road.
