    This video will help you choose the best topper if you're looking for a 100% natural latex mattress topper.
    Amid a sea of offerings, making an informed choice is often hard. I have selected 5 of the best 100% natural latex mattress toppers that you can add to your mattress to improve your sleep.
    Adding a 100% natural latex mattress topper to your mattress has many benefits. You may use one to:
    -Add a layer of comfort to your existing mattress.
    -Add softness to a hard mattress.
    -Add hardness to a soft mattress.
    -Fix a sagging mattress.
    -Use the topper as a layer in a DIY mattress project.
    -Alleviate pressure points in the back, lower back, hips, shoulders, and knees.
    Natural latex mattress toppers are hypoallergenic and do not emit any harmful volatile organic chemicals.
    The recommended toppers on my list are all made of natural latex sap from the rubber tree (Hevea Brasiliensis). It is ecological and biodegradable. Rubber plantations also provide many socio-economic benefits to local populations that surround the tree plantations.
    Natural latex toppers will increase the airflow of your mattress because the latex is more breathable than conventional polyurethane foam. The cell structure of the material is much more open, allowing for warm air and humidity from your body to dissipate.
    Additionally, all 100% natural latex foams have ventilation channels baked into them, which allow for increased airflow.
    Check out my blog post outlining the many benefits of 100% natural latex mattress toppers.

    www.naturalmattressfinder.com also has many articles, buyer's guides, and comparison charts for 100% natural latex mattresses and related products to help you get the most rejuvenating natural sleep experience possible.

    Great vid, thanks very much. I'm naturally a back sleeper and like a firm mattress, but I recently developed apnea when sleeping on my back so I have to sleep mostly on my sides now. Unfortunately, my firm mattress makes my shoulders ache when I sleep on my sides, so that's why I'm looking into mattress toppers. Knowing that I like a firm feel overall, but have to create some softness and relief for my shoulders, would you recommend a "soft", "medium", or "firm" topper? Also, what size would be most optimal, a 1", 2", or 3"? Thanks very much for your recommendations!!

    • @NaturalMattressFinder

      Some toppers are zoned and offer varying firmnesses throughout the same topper. This is meant to alleviate the extra pressure at the hips and shoulders.
      Check out the Ultimate Sleep zoned topper www.naturalmattressfinder.com/recommends/100-natural-dunlop-zoned-topper-by-ultimate-sleep/ . The holes in its surface vary in size. This way the topper has several zones to give you a "tailored" sleep experience. Some other zoned natural latex toppers are available. Your shoulders hurt because of your pillow height. Its not the mattress trust me. I work as an ABC practitioner(chiropractor) so see this issue daily. Increase your pillow height and the pressure comes off from your shoulder. Be aware though you need to find the neutral height of your had on the pillow. If it`s heigher even with a centimetre could cause you having discomfort and will toss and turn cause of that.

    I sleep on a very firm mattress that causes pain in arm and back at night causing me to toss continuously trying to stop the pain. I do not experience pain during the day. I am 5'7" and 230 lbs. I am a combo sleeper that likes to sleep both on back and side. I would like to still retain some of the firmness of my mattress, plus get some softness to relieve pressure points. Should I buy a 2" or 3" topper and should I buy a soft of medium topper? Can you please recommend a brand of topper that would be better for me to wake up each morning without pain. Thanks, Lucy

    • @NaturalMattressFinder
      @NaturalMattressFinder  Před 4 lety +4

      Hi Lucy, I recommend going with the 3" topper. Considering your bodyweight, I think a soft topper would not provide the proper support. A 3" medium firmness like this one www.naturalmattressfinder.com/recommends/plush-beds/ should provide a fantastic adjustment to your firm mattress.

      Hi BlackCanvas,
      I have the perfect natural latex mattress roundup for you: www.naturalmattressfinder.com/best-mattress-for-heavy-people/. The latex comfort layers of the mattresses that I feature in the post are very generous in terms of thickness. In other words, you wouldn't need to add a separate topper to get the most optimal comfort, pressure relief and breathability with any of the featured mattresses.

  • @randygreen007
    @randygreen007 Před 3 lety +4

    I have to disagree with your evaluation of the off gassing from the Pure Green topper. I just purchased the 3” medium firm topper and it’s a game changer for the sleep issues I’ve had for several months. That said it definitely has a strong smell initially but it did air out after a couple of days. I would suggest airing it out in another room or even a garage for a few days. I find this topper to be a bit more firm than expected even though I prefer a firm mattress. I would say it’s like sleeping on firm jello because while it is firm it has a small amount of give and bounce. I added a 2” softer memory foam to the top and now have the best bed I could have hoped for. I will eventually switch the memory foam to a 1 or 2 inch Pure Green soft topper to keep my sleep environment free from VOC’s. My cervical and lumbar aches as well as knee aches are definitely on the mend.

    • @NaturalMattressFinder
      @NaturalMattressFinder  Před 3 lety +1

      Glad to hear that you found a comfortable bed setup by combining toppers of different thicknesses. Indeed, natural latex will have a faint smell when new. You can help limit this by using a fitted mattress cover. Airing it out like you did is a very good idea.

      Hi Ben,
      If you are used to the firm memory foam mattress, you will probably be most comfortable on a firm latex. However, it is hard to predict how you will find the firmness after testing it out for a couple of days.
      If you are an all-around sleeper or a side sleeper, I recommend a 3-inch. If you are strictly a back sleeper or stomach sleeper I suggest the 2-inch.

    • @onebrightflash
      @onebrightflash Před 3 lety

      Yes. That is exactly how I made my new mattress. I was unsure about the firmness I would need so I bought 3 three inch toppers of soft ILD 20, medium ILD 29, and firm ILD 39. I weigh 300 lbs. The best combination for me was soft on top, medium in the middle with the firm on the bottom. I have another latex mattress I bought from Sears 26 years ago. I thought it was worn out because it felt lumpy. When I removed the mattress from the base I found the base fiber board cover was sagging between the support slats causing the lumpiness. Instead of buying a new base I bought two sheets of sanded plywood that I screwed to the top of the base. It restored my bed without having to replace the mattress. To get a long life from your latex mattress, It is important to keep a good mattress cover over your mattress to protect it from degrading UV light, dirt, and body fluids like sweat and mouth drool.

If you absolutely have to cut the topper, I suggest making a test cut that narrower than needed in order to assess the efficacy of the tool you are using.

    • @NaturalMattressFinder
      @NaturalMattressFinder  Před 2 lety +3

      The natural latex would be heavier and more dense. That being said, upon testing both types of foam, natural latex has much more resistance once compressed. The memory foam has almost no pushback once it is compressed. In other words, once compressed, memory foam offers little support. Personally, I don't like memory foam because of the sinking sensation when shifting and the lack of support.

    • @NaturalMattressFinder
      @NaturalMattressFinder  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes I have tried the www.naturalmattressfinder.com/recommends/pure-green-by-sleep-on-latex/ Pure Green topper. It is very comfortable and pressure relieving. Here is the video review: czcams.com/video/2j8ohEvzoTg/video.html
      There are so many variations of the toppers mentioned, with different firmnesses and thicknesses that it wouldn't make sense to try and review them all. I may have the opportunity to review more toppers in the future.
      Also, determining the comfort of a topper is very subjective as it depends on your bodyweight, sleeping position, firmness preference and topper thickness.

    my king mattress is too soft. which is the cheapest fix?

    • @NaturalMattressFinder
      @NaturalMattressFinder  Před 3 lety

      Sure, you can add a 2" or 3" firm topper to the mattress. All the firmness options for every brand are listed on the topper comparison page: www.naturalmattressfinder.com/toppers-comparison/ . Your particular mattress may have ultra-low density foam in the top layer. This does make the mattress too plush in some cases. But without seeing your mattress, I wouldn't be able to tell. So, if this is the case a medium firmness topper would be more appropriate.

      Natural mattress finder - are you being cruel? It's obvious what the commenter is asking.

    The comparison of the five toppers is kind of disappointing. They are all pretty much the same thing, but you presented them as somehow they different from one another.

      Thanks for commenting! Yes, I presented the toppers as different from one another because they are different from one another. Yes, ultimately, a latex topper is a latex topper. But, all the models in this video have slight differences. For example, the Vytex topper amzn.to/2GcDrD9 is a three-zone topper, whereas most of the other ones are single-zone. Other differences like thickness and latex type (Dunlop or Talalay) will change the feel of the mattress.

      @@NaturalMattressFinder Sadly, the Vytex topper is no longer available through Amazon-I couldn't find it anywhere else. The PlushBeds topper was actually quite expensive when compared to the others. I do like that the Pure Green topper is returnable through Amazon. For those wondering how returns are handled (how do you send back a shrink wrapped item?), Pure Green asks you to either donate or they will pick up-both with full refund. Thanks again!!!

      @@nancyb2003 Hi Nancy, yes, at the moment, I don't know of any zoned topper models. However, if you want a model that has an incredible amount of options, check out the Nestled topper: www.naturalmattressfinder.com/recommends/take-ten-natural-medium/ it has great reviews and they offer both natural topper and an organic topper that is certified by GOLS. Learn more about the various options here: www.naturalmattressfinder.com/toppers-comparison/

      But, I'm just wondering why you copy-pasted this same exact comment in different videos 3 times and wrote in all-caps like you are screaming?

    How many poisonous and cancer causing fire retardant chemicals are in them .?

      If you are talking about polyurethane mattresses, it can be in the hundreds, and many are trade secrets that are guarded by big chemical companies like DOW. If you're talking about natural latex mattresses, there are none. Natural latex mattresses pass UL laboratories fire tests thanks to the fire resistant properties of wool. To compare mattresses that don't use chemical fire retardants, check out the interactive comparison chart on my site: www.naturalmattressfinder.com/
