Great review! Slept on a latex core mattress for many years and enjoyed it. There’s a couple of other nuances as well. Latex is very heavy…my mattress was extremely difficult to move. It’s also buoyant, more of a bouncy feel. It has a smell (if it’s not produced properly) otherwise it smells floral which is nice. It’s an incredible material and should be considered when designing a mattress!

The problem with latex is some people are allergic. I found this out the hard way when I purchased a custom made mattress very similar to your store...family owned, great customer service, but every mattress had layers of latex. I ended up with a terrible reaction, red streaks up and down my arms and I was overheated. Hard lesson to learn, but it's important to also include people with allergies, different body types, etc...I am very small and am finding that mattresses are much too firm on my side and at the same time many of the foam type mattresses retain heat...like you said. I have already returned that mattress and am on my 3rd mattress about to return one or maybe both. One is hurting my sides and back and the other is too hot and still presses on my side/hips. I never had an issue before when I had a basic innerspring mattress and box spring, but the new mattresses they are making are just not the same quality.

I hope you see this. Try a genuine Japanese futon with the genuine layers. It's cotton. No latex allergy. But there's two more things to know. Latex allergy from latex mattresses are rare. What isn't rare is an allergy to the flame retardant that American mattresses are treated with. Unless the latex you bought was really cheap foam. Did you ever open up the mattress cover?

I should have hopped on YT before even starting the journey of finding a new bed. I had no idea how awful the experience would be in this world of foams and latex in everything now. These guys probably have solved some of the massive problems I came up against. Such a bummer. I lost so much sleep over years of trying to find a real bed again. I'm an excellent sleeper. The beds all just cooked me. I ended up sleeping on the floor or couch many nights, even blow up mattresses. Do your research everyone. Maybe these guys have solved the over-heating of latex problem that I found, even in super expensive brands. Not getting good sleep is a nightmare that is not necessary due to materials in beds. I finally bought a wool bed with springs. I wish i had just kept my old but perfectly fine mattress. How do you solve the latex heating issue? I bought hybrid mattresses and pure latex... cooked me just the same as foam. I tried for a full year with those thinking it would the solution.

Latex is cool and responsive sure, but the bounce kinda makes you feel it’s “resisting” your snuggle. It’s great for an afternoon nap, but not so when you want that really deep night’s slumber. If I am to choose, I prefer Latex with some complex foams and other materials. Sophisticated materials work great together to balance each others’ shortcomings.

I thought latex would be the solution but it slept just as hot as foam. I tried multiple times to do it and it's the exact same in my experience. I do not sleep "hot" btw... I feel that is a new concept everyone talks about now because almost every single mattress you buy now (last 10 years it seems) is just loaded with foam or latex. I spent the last 3 years just testing different ones. It has dramatically altered my health not sleeping good because of MATTRESSES. I should never have thrown out my old but perfectly fine mattress that I slept like a baby on. It has been a very hard road trying to find even one mattress that didn't cook me in these times. I finally landed on pure natural fibers with springs. Wool.
