Noob here! So I had uploaded my art image onto open sea, but before i had time to mint it,
( seems I had to create first and then move onto new page to "sell" ) i got a notice it had been minted, this person ( bot) quickly minted all three of my uploads, before i had time to. I reported it but the powers that be wanted a url where it was- However cannot find them on the site at all, i did find the person's collection through their email but he/she had thousands of non related images, so much so that I couldn't go through all of them and couldn't find it by name? Can the name be changed? How can i prevent this from happening again. I am too scared to upload now.

I'm quite a noob at NFTs (trying to figure out how to sell myself and have been doing research on it), so excuse me if this is an elementary question. Why do these platforms allow right click to save anyway? It would seem logical enough to omit that opportunity and completely do away with the problems everyone describes about theft. Also about the watermark you mentioned- would it be possible to upload an image with watermarks streaked across and then provide the actual link upon purchase to receive the non-adulterated original and therefore make it blatantly obvious that it is not the correct one if anyone does try to take a photo of it? Thanks.

Let's just say we are making CZcams videos on a character from a movie or a show breaking down their character and stuff like that but with our own voiceover and other stuff. If we add some scenes of them from the movie in the video will it be under fair use?

A lot of NFTs themselves ARE stolen art. DevientArt has a tool that alerts artists when their art is posted as a NFT. Opensea is ignoring a TON of takedown notices by artists. It's been suggested to them to submit it to their webhost (Google) instead.
I've been asking opensea to embed copyright tech on their market place, they are a massive company, they can easily do it đ

Greetings! And thanks for this video. Q: If I'm using a digital camera to take photos, does possession of that original RAW file from the camera offer me decent protection? The RAW file contains info about me as photographer and copyright owner including the camera I use and other information. Anyone legitimate copy would still have some of that info attached, even if it is a JPG.

By American Law, the moment you publically publish original work, you automatically own it's copyright. Up to 75 years, I believe. It use to be much shorter, until Disney kept taking the issue to court, to protect their ownership of Mickey Mouse, etc.
Speaking of which, Mickey is very close to lapsing that 75 years. And unless Disney somehow gets them to extend the copyright again (for the 3rd time), he'll become a public work. At least his early incarnations would be.

@@sespider Have you read Instagram's Rights clause in their terms of agreement? It says they can do what they wish with your art. Sure, you own the copyright, but they can sell your images to anyone they want without your permission or compensation. It's the 'cost' of using their platform.
Sorry this comment is not related to this particular video but it's related to one of your previous videos. I tried commenting there but you didn't respond. I need help, I have a question about fair use for videos. Can I take a football goals compilation clip(let's say top 10 goals) is it okay if I cut out like 4 of the goals(5 sec each) and scatter them across several parts of my video with other different clips completely different from that one and of course with commentary? or does it have to be 5 seconds from every single match video? Again I'm sorry I'm asking this question in a completely unrelated video but I am desperate pls.
The videos suppose to be the shortest possible to avoid any strike, but I've some using longer videos but superposing some filters to make it different from the original. I hope this helps đ

A programmer i know wants to help me launch my NFT project. I don't feel comfortable showing my art work. He keeps insisting to take a picture. How do I protect my art work? Is it safe to let him take a picture?
I wouldn't.
The NFT system has been around for yrs now. It wasn't until news that BEEPLE hit it big, did it's popularity explode.
It's incredibly sad and unsetting that security measures have never been put into place.
That said, I'm not at all surprised it hasn't. My art gets stolen, partly modified, and resold by thieves and bots on the regular. And a watermark over the entire work seems to do little to deter them. There are too many automated tools that "content aware" remove watermarks.

I think you mean Digital Art NFTâs ? NFTâs in general are changing the world.
The idea in general seems terrible to me, images audio clips and videos being essentially copyrighted and sold as if they were physical limited edition items rather than easily copyable and saveable digital media. I hate the entire concept

I am so happy you caught it -- could have been a disaster, otherwise. If you can, do regular searches for copycatters on OpenSea, Rarible, SuperRare, and Foundation

I am really confused. How can you sue someone for copying a picture that was posted publicly, when the âthiefâ is not selling the picture? The person who is âsellingâ the saved picture is not actually selling the art itself. They are selling a receipt that you bought a spot on their block chain. The image is just a representation of that spot, and has nothing to do with the purchase. Thatâs like me selling a spot on public land that you can stand on. You donât own the spot you only own a piece of paper that I wrote that said you can stand there. So if a officer tells you to leave you have to leave, but you can keep the piece of paper I created for you because thatâs what you bought.
Best way to fight against NFT thieves?
DON'T MAKE NFTs.

NFTs are not protected by copyright laws. If you own the IP of the image, you can do takedowns as usual. It being an NFT is meaningless nonsense. Remember NFTs are not art, the image is just there to dress up a position in the Blockchain, the image may point to the token, but the image is separate. Stop buying art via NFT nonsense.
Oh look rich thieves protecting rich thieves.
DMCA applies only to the artist not the people who buy NFT of said work. Digital graphic NFTs are impractical and are evidently flawed (this video) when considering them as commodities. People who fall for NFTs want to bend the existing rules in order to make their unviable concept work (remove right clicking, changing law, extending DMCA). Stop NFTs it's not viable when applied to pixels and it's wasting energy.
