As an FYI, I'll be having some extra comments and corrections in this pinned comment if need be:
- Ambient Occusion cannot be set specifically for Tarkov, so (much like gamma correction) you can ignore that.
- DSR and Shader Cache both need to be set globally instead of per game as that is how those settings operate.
Thank you, as always, for watching :)
I only have one question about your video. V-sync is better to have it setup to "off" or to "fast"? Asking it because a friend of mine claims that fast is better than off, and I'm playing with my settings to see if Tarkov runs better (5800x3d + 4070S + 32gb 3200mhz dual, and I can't have more than 70 fps on streets, with an average around 50s)
@@raphaeme V-sync is a anti screentearing tech and can induce latency by ensuring that a full frame is cycled through before the next one starts displaying. It can induce latency by purposefully delaying frames untill the monitor says to (essentially).
With that being said, there is no "best" setting for V-Sync- it all depends on if you are experiencing screen tearing. If you are and it annoys you, use it, but otherwise you do not need it.
wow it works for me, especially when changing several option to " application-controlled" make my fps increase from 50~ to 70~ (ofc graphic set low cuz im using 1660 Super) and cap by rivatuner the most to reduce stutering, but when i change to prefered maximum power my pc suddenly turning off when playing tarkov about 5-10 minute i experiment it twice to make sure XD but this video helped me so good thank you (my spec i5 10400f boost it to 4.1/4.2 ghz pair with 1660 super 16gigs ram play in 1080 fullscreen, never play in street XD)
Thank you for looking into it 😎
Keep up the great work man. Loving the content.
Few things I saw while I was watching. In my control panel; 5:53 in Program Settings when I see "Ambient Occlusion" it says "Not supported for this application", so I think this setting doesnt matter in EFT, as you can only change it in game. 19:26 You cant change DSR or Shader Cashe Size in Program settings. 19:07 , if you see shimmering on objects, turn this off. Cheers !
All true- thanks for the feedback. I'll make note of this in a pinned comment so people know :)
Love the video buddy, thanks!
thanks for all the testing you do
My pleasure man :)
Great content, thanks
great video!
I use the following every day : in the nvidia panel AA-FXAA=ON , AA-Mode=override any aplication settings , AA-Setting=4x and then select TAA in-game, by doing this the game won't actually use FXAA from the nvidia panel but instead adds to it. I've been using this for years now and it helped me removing most jagged edges.
DSR with it's selected resolutions in nvidia panel no longer works for me since .14, the selected resolutions no longer show up in-game, I wonder if others have this issue. If you have a fix for this please let me know!
I'll have to look into DSR again, see what's up with that. Thanks for the tip!
hey this looks really nice, and with a minimal FPS cost. whats your spec?
You are awesome with all these videos and answering people live

Commenting for the algo! Thanks for the tests, K!
thx for awasome video👍
This helped me fix after an 50-60 fps dip frim new patch that even reinstall would not fix, thanks
i don't have the Ambient Occlusion and some other setting, any idea why ? (4070 TI and updated Drivers)
Thanks for the motivation! I didn't think I could drag my couch across the living room but you knew better. You knew I'd want to read this microscopic text, text contained within nvidias WINDOWED controlled panel. I know it wasn't just for me but I feel like you knew I had it in me. Thank Jehovah my 60" smart TV couldn't resolve those little letters or my couch might still be place in a more appropriate position.. but I can't go back now.
Seriously,
Thanks for your hard work. And GFY.
Oi brother, full screening the control panel doesn't scale the contents at all
@klemintime1452 also i got a question sir. i got more fps when i play medium or higher graphic quality does that mean im CPU bottlenecked ?
I dont understand most of the stuff in here, I just set it to what you recommend and hope for a miracle XD
Keep SSR at least on low, it helps see people in shadows by rendering colors more clearly. (in-game graphics setting)
thanks for the tip
I don't see how this setting does anything with colors, SSR or Screen Space Reflection is purely for reflections?
@@wildgg try it, I randomly noticed it yesterday when testing each in-game setting.
@@DraxTheDestroyer very interesting, will give it a go!
@@wildggno clue what SSR does but I do know since Ive turned it on last wipe I’ve been able to see people in shadows far better.
I'm on a 4090 and all of a sudden have 60fps. My monitor's hertz is 120 (138 OC) and i never had this problem. On Desktop it runs 120hz. The second I start Tarkov it limits it hz to 60ish. What is going on? I can only image that it is connected to the last nvdia driver. Even rolling back doesn't fix the problem. If you have any idea I'd love you to share it. Thanks for your content! It has been amazing!
"yada yada the usual youtube bullcrap" as someone who has been watching gaming youtube videos for pretty close to a decade already...(yikeS) i felt this in my soul. Thank you for putting up with it and giving us the info anyways
I love discussing it so trust me, its not a big deal to put up with it. The best thing either way is to get the word out and discuss it so we can get some real results (the more brains, the better).
Does nvidia panel settings take affect immediately while the game is open or do I have to restart to test every single setting?
For the numbers I show in the video, they were tested with a full system restart between tests. I did not want to risk them not properly applying between runs so I made sure to stay For applying DSR and NIS specifically though, I know those require a full restart to take effect.
(also, it is me, I just didn't want to wait to reply to this comment when I got home and I don't have access to my actual account when I'm out of the house lol)
@@klem233 alright thanks bro, btw I was hella confused reading the first paragraph telling myself "who the heck is this pretending to be the channel owner?"
lol!
A trick I learned a few years back when I started playing this game was if you turn V-Sync OFF in the tarkov program section of Nvidia Control panel, then turn the V-Sync setting in the actual game on, It will allow for unlimited FPS. I have seen 5-10 FPS increase just from this as when there is any cap it will reduce FPS slightly. Just be careful as in the main menu mine will be at 900 fps and the GPU will be at full load. So I usually just turn V-sync off in game if I plan to be in the menu for any significant amount of time.
You dont cap your fps???
Hi could you test sharpening slider out in a new video regarding if it affects fps or not, I hear rumors it does. Would be great!
I'll see what I can do but know if I do not find anything meaningful, I'll likely not have a video on it. Assume if nothing's mentioned it should be good 👍
You can make the game more sharp with no performance impact through nvidia control panel by changing a setting in regedit that reverts the "image scaling" setting back to "image sharpening".
If you type in "regedit" in to the windows search bar, and go to Registry Editor, copy and past the file path below in to the the file path bar. It's just below "file", "edit", "view"
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
vlddmkm\FTS
Once that path is pasted in, look for the option - EnableGR535. Right click on it, click "modify", then change the "value data" from 1 to 0.
Close Nvidia control panel if it was still open, then once you open it, the "image scaling" setting will now be "image sharpening". If you set it too high, it can make the game look really grainy, so be careful. I set sharpen to 0.3 with "ignore film grain" at 0.
Can you update the description txt as it shows Tarkov settings but different to whats shown on your actual game.. 🙃
Don't follow the actual in-game settings I had in the video; those were special as I was testing in a heavy CPU-bound scenario to attempt to find performance differences. The settings in the description are the accurate ones.
@@klemintime1452 Yeh I actually used them and works great!! Thanks man 🔥👊
I only get 30-40 fps on Streets of tarkov, I have a i9 9900k 4070ti and I don't really understand why my frames are so bad
your ram plays a huge part. upgrade to ddr5
timestamps saved me alot of multitasking... cheeers
Is anyone else having any issues with performance with a r 7 5800x3d?
Nope, just upgraded to a 5800x3d, with a 2070 super I'm getting around 150fps on most maps.. 1080p @240hz..

LMAO upcoming channel rebrand to that soon(tm)
@klemintime1452 🤣 and also great vid!
Why would you not
just show your settings?
