30 Minute Barre Workout for Beginners & Seniors // Osteoporosis Friendly Exercises

- You will enjoy this full body barre workout that's appropriate for everyone including seniors and beginners. I choreographed this routine to be good for those with osteoporosis so there are no movements that involve bending or twisting of the spine. The entire workout is also performed in a standing position so there is no floor work. A complete warm up and stretching cool down is also included in this video.
Barre is a wonderful workout to work on lengthening and sculpting your muscles while improving your posture as well. No dance experience is required.
You will feel great after completing these exercises!
The only equipment you will need is a chair to serve as your barre as well as a light set of hand weights. I'm using two 3 pound dumbbells in this video.

I spent the better part of 2022 in the hospital fending off leukemia. Thankfully now in remission and your workouts have been a godsend to help me regain my strength. Your gentle encouragement keeps me on track. I honestly think I am in better shape now than I was pre-cancer. Thank you for putting these wonderful workouts online for people like me to do at home!

My trick for motivation is to tell yourself that you only have to do 10 minutes. Chances are, once you've done the 10 minutes you just keep going.
i’m not yet a senior but as someone with inflammatory conditions, i use your workouts to stay fit while keeping inflammation low. thank you for your great variety and consistency.

My auto immune issues have been flaring up, but I just wanted to do something gentle to move my body today and feel like I am at least a little bit in control. This was perfect for me and I cannot thank you enough for having workouts like this to help people who have different kinds of diseases. That way they feel like they still can get something worthwhile accomplished. While not feeling the best.❤

Day 76, I love these Barre work outs even if I will never become very graceful, but they are fun. Next three to four days I cannot work out because of medical reasons, but will be back Saturday all going well :)

I had knee replacement surgery because of osteoarthritis almost 9 weeks ago. I have been resisting doing the exercises. I have had steady progress as the swelling has come down. But since I was not doing the exercises as regularly, I have now stalled in my progress. I decided to try this class today and found that many of the exercises I have to do are incorporated in this routine, but in a much more palatable way. I thoroughly enjoyed the workout, worked up a sweat and feel so much better for it. I am also more flexible now and ready to go do the more painful stretches that will get me back on a bicycle one day soon. Thank you for this.

You have developed a love for barre workouts in me. Tried Barre3 last week. Very challenging yet enjoyable. A little harder than the Pure barre classes I have taken. You should start a Senior Shape studio franchise. I think it would explode especially if you design the workouts.

Love this, not a senior but still felt like I got a great workout! Gentle and calming and still got my heart rate up enough. Also suffering from low back issues and appreciate the no twisting and bending.

Lovely workout! I have had a nagging back injury that flares up from tennis, twisting, even my ballet workouts were triggering a response. So after tearing two muscles in my leg, I took a break and rehabbed my leg. My back got better but am trying to find workouts that strengthen without triggering a back issue and this was PERFECT!!!!!

Definitely gonna be doing this! I just watched a young lady who’s channel I follow and she posted a full body barre workout today and I previewed it…good Lord there is a huge difference! I’m not sure I will make it thru her workout…lol. This I can manage, considering I look at barre as a bit of torture…😊. It’s so much more difficult than just lifting!
I agree! I think that's why I love barre so much because it's deceptively challenging and really works all those underutilized muscles but makes you feel and look great. I'm happy to provide achievable workouts on my channel :)
