- In my personal opinion Sony is really leaving money on the table and not fully serving their customers by creating their own elite controller. Even during the entire PS4 lifespan we only got an attachment for extra inputs from Sony at the very end of the PS4's lifespan. The back button attachment has been very well received in the PS community and I feel like it left people wanting more. Sadly that thing is sold out everywhere and price gouged all over for the remaining units still floating around. I really hope Sony takes the new DualSense controller for the PS5 to new heights! Got my battle beaver about 2 weeks ago and i can say hands down that it is the best controller i have ever used . I ordered mine on a monday and got it that friday . the trick is just to order the standard pro pick . if you don't customise it , you will recieve it in about a week .
The vibration is mainly for singleplayer for when sony come out with huge titles for the PS5. And I do like it. I turn it off for games like CoD but it should be nice and immersive for singleplayer. I just hope my scuf works for the PS5, but I have a bad feeling it wonât.

Big Wagon donât worry. Sony doesnât use proprietary wireless protocols for their controllers. Even if the new port is USB-C on the device side, Iâm fairly certain it will still terminate with a type A port on the console. Most likely compatible in every way.

Nick Lilly Iâm in Australia and they were selling for $50 n they sold out in the first week. Finally, I found one on eBay for $150 so had to buy it. Didnât care too much for the price lol

Dual sense is more for single player games for a more immersive game play. It's going to be perfect for all the new and upcoming games such as spiderman 2 , last of us 2, and more

Got the back buttons as well and there have been no issues - works perfectly. Amazing value for $30. Only issue I have with it is that its a bit bulky.
Wish I could find one for even close to the MSRP
. Y only issue is the headphone jack.
My wireless headset took a dump on me and if I use the headphone jack build in on the adapter I only get sound from one side of the headset.

I wish I could figure out what kinda headset mic combo i could use in that situation. Cuz I paid for a very expensive surround sound system for gaming and movies and using a headset that mutes my surround sound kinda defeats the purpose.

I really think that back button attachment they released late into the PS4 will fit the new controller. I have an Sony representative at my store and when the back attachment came out I mentioned to her that it was really late into the game. She looked at me and said âOr is it? Iâll just leave it at that.â That made me think that it will work on the new controller.

I bought a scuf recently for the simple fact I couldnât find that back button attachment. I actually love my Scuf Vantage 2 and the level of customization you simply canât get with the Dual Shock 4. I think Sony could really learn things from the 3rd party controller developers. If they come out with their own elite controller they may be stepping up their game. Itâs something theyâve been way behind on with this generation and 3rd party developers have picked up the slack, while MS learned their lesson from the last generation and made their own Elite controller for this one.

They couldâve sold the back button attachment to see if players would actually use it and the fact it sold out before it got onto shelves should show them we want a controller with back buttons. I think they should make controllers with prebuilt back buttons on them and the attachable one so players can decide whether they want the back inputs to be removable or not. Personally though, I donât think there r back buttons on the back of the controller but thatâs just my two cents

@ 0:22 my guess is that there is no screws(so making it harder for you to repair, just like stadia's controller) and they didn't show the back to prevent backlash.
From the pictures we did get, it really doesn't look like they added back buttons. If they did, then I'm going to adore Sony for it. If not, then I'll be disappointed that Sony didn't take the opportunity to standardize more buttons. WE NEED MORE BUTTONS.

I wish bottom paddle buttons become a standard for regular gamepads. It's such a huge jump in UX.
I think it should be 4 paddles/buttons with the option to take some out if you dont want or need them. Is just nice to have the option.

As for the back button on ps4, I have one and I got pretty used to it but in the end I just have has the og ps4 controller for so long that the back buttons felt to big and bulky I would hit them unintentionally. However if the ps5 has them and with the way they made the controller it would be all new and probably a lot easier to get familiar with, just like every new controller.

I wish they made an elite controller with the same sort of ideas as the Xbox elite V2. So customizable trigger stoppers, 4 detachable back paddles, height and different domed sticks etc
I understand the "dual sense" but just like you said I always turn off vibration to save battery life.
I hope they have back buttons in the default dual sense that comes with the console. If not then hopefully they make an attachment similar to the PS4 back buttons, except more subtle and smaller.

iâve been bringing up the lack of pictures of the back of the controller since the day the pictures of the dualsense came out, hopefully mappable back buttons will be added and will become the standard, iâve been using a scuf impact for a while now (i use three paddles) and idk if i could live without them now

Iâve been dying to get my hands on the back button attachment for the DualShock 4. I pray that the PS5 standard controller comes with back buttons.
I strongly hope it will come with back buttons as honestly I am not too bothered about any of the other features such as the haptic feedback and so forth. I have got an FPS Dominator and it was fun while it lasted however after 2 weeks of daily use the hinge that comes across the controller just snapped making it impossible to use.
Would have loved a back button attachment but I got so sick of waiting I picked up a strike pack. Hopefully sony comes around with a solid first party elite controller
2:50 I actually put pmts index finger on the bumpers and my middle finger on the trigger so this doesnât do anything. When I told my friends this they thought it was weird to hold the controller like that but I have better access to more buttons, so I donât really need a custom controller with back buttons

I think the dual sense will launch with back buttons included.
I hope instead of back "buttons" they'll be clickable touchpads so we can choose to activate the gyro with back pad touch, instead of always on, for aiming, and have different actions for click, even swipes. Gyro for aiming should be included for every fps.

Imagine in racing game, u go vibration on the side when u got hit.. the vibration goes heavy on the impact and lighter on the non impact. Then the analog stick got bit harder to steer.
Imagine when u r playing tomb raider. U using a bow.. the longer u pull and hold the arrow, the weaker ur hand is and the analog stick harder to maintain.. it makes the killing with full satisfaction.
This is great. Those who dont see this.. are those console fps player which disrupts their aims.. but for casual player into immersion.. we hope it delivers what we think of

I think the vibrations and that wil be really cool. Obviously if your playing a competitive game you wont want that. However, if your playing a single player game it will just emerge you more. Think itâll be cool

I got the back buttons when it was at 30 dollars, they do work great, the problem though is the quality of the duslshock...I have 8 ps4 controllers, and the left toggle burns out in about two-three weeks of competitive fps.
Ya, I never cared about the rumbles, I just want the forward run on the left toggle to work longer than two weeks out of the box, also stiffer tension in the toggles.

My gripe about the ps4 controller is it makes headphones seem quiet compared to my phone.

I've been searching for the back buttons from Sony, daily, since the first month it came out... Finally caved this week and bought a new controller and the eXtremeRate remap kit since it seems Sony is never restocking. Due to arrive on Tuesday, hope they work out for me, the reviews aren't bad..
I don't regret buying a Vantage 2 or nothin'. It's a nice change of pace from time to time, even though I think it's biggest flaw is it's offset design.
That said, I couldn't live without at least one of the four Dualshock 4 controllers that I've installed each with a DAWN kit since they dropped a year ago.
Now they send extra switch covers in each kit so it's even easier to add your own two extra inputs, so it's especially a no brainer as long as you have a higher iq than your shoe size.
I hope it has back buttons. The back button attachment is amazing
Haptic feedback is the most intriguing thing. I hear it may be on the thumbsticks or those are at least early rumers.
I highly doubt it will be on the thumbsticks. You have to remember, all these features affect price. Too high a price = Not happy consumers.
To be honest I don't really see the huge deal with haptic. It really isn't 'all that'. It's simply a vibration instead of a spinning rumble. I have a haptic controller now and I can honestly say the old DS4 rumbles are better. Just my opinion though, I'm sure others will like/prefer it.

they probably had initial plans for the back buttons built in but seeing how well the attachment is selling they can probably make more money selling a back button attachment separately instead
I think the controller would look A LOT cleaner if it was a solid color. Either white or black. the glossy white buttons look sick i just think theyd look even sicker if the bottom of the controller was matched the top and had color matching joy sticks .
