The only Issues I had with this controller was that Sony hadn't updated their PC software yet for compatibility with the PS5 Dualsense controller and I accidentally dropped my white Battle Beaver and messed up a smart trigger on it. So as far as performance I've never had a Battle Beaver not work for me unless it was my fault or a lack of software compatibility.

Got mine in but got the top paddles confused had to send it back but it felt so great I have big hands and the ps4 controller feels a little small

I have the battle beaver increased tension for my Astro c40, they last way longer and feel way better. 10/10 recommend the 110g tension

Nice review video man should've followed your advice and got a battle beaver instead of a scuf got a scuf almost a year ago and after like three to four months the paddle started to wear off definitely going to get a dual sense ps5 battle beaver custom on the next wave, wave 3 is already concluded.
I like my BB dualsense. I ordered the second wave of controllers. It took about 4 weeks to arrive.
I’ve got a battle beaver in January and I had that disconnect problem. The latest controller update on the ps5 solved that problem

i agree.. I love my battlebeaver controllers when i do get to use them. The downside are the WAIT TIMES. Expect to wait for 2 to 3 months before get your controller or get your controller modified. For my 1st battlebeaver it took 3 months to build and I watched a video to get thumbstick tension and what a mistake. It literally started to make my thumb ache and I could only use the controller for about an Hour before i had to put the controller down and use normal thumbstick controller. So i sent mine back to battlebeaver to have the tension removed and now have to wait another 3 months
What tension did you put on your controller? I’m thinking to go strong

Seeing that astro gave me PTSD... lol. Great review as always! I've honestly only been playing single player games (great for clearing out the backlog) since I got my 5 due to lack of back button options. Think I am gonna try this soon, will be nice to have for everything but especially shooters & rocket league :)
My Astro is in shambles, and I still prefer to use it over my PowerA Fusion. I'm upset they don't make the C40 anymore. I will continue to use mine until the wheels fall off of it, so to speak.
@@xxitz_pr0gxx631 i absolutely loved it but constant stick drift issues (minor & major) across a few different controllers really made it unusable for me. I preferred ps4 back button attachment when it finally released
@@OGBigB1 did you get the battle beaver modules? My sticks are the ONLY thing that have never messed up.
Definitely keeping my eye out for their Twitter & website for the next wave. But I don't see an option on the site, for the PS5 Dualsense, for 4 back buttons. Maybe it's something they did on the first batch and not any others. But 4 buttons is essential for me. I've had a Scuf, Elite, & now Elite 2 and having 4 is crucial. Hopefully I'll get lucky in the next batch of pre-orders etc.

@@JahBenzo I got lucky and got one and got the faster delivery as well. It's been fantastic. I would like some improvements here and there, but overall it's a 8.5/10 for me. Super stiff thumb sticks is a welcome addition I didn't think I'd like, but with Halo's release...it's incredible. Highly recommend Battle Beaver.

yeah bruh i placed my order march 12th... still haven't been notified that it's even been started to be built. Just actually sent them an email today that if my controller hasn't been started then im cancelling my order. lmao its beyond ridiculous. i can understand a smaller workforce and not enough technicians, but shit, LET THE PEOPLE KNOW ITS GUNNA BE A 3 MONTH WAIT the pandemic is NOT an excuse for wait time idc what anyone has to say about that.
When you bought the controller, you agreed in two places to a 9 week minimum wait time…. Nothing to wine about but stupidity!

Definitly worth to buy it. I bought one and it lasted one year and a half and I did drop it accidentally a few times. But the thumbstick thingy that you ‘plug’ in, broke also, so I had glued it together. But it got worn out by one year, so I had to change it (and Ive been playing A LOOOOOOOT) and it bumps up to around 300$ for me. Because taxes is shit in my country
I have a Evzen Elite, but I'm always looking for other options. Might be looking into this in the future.

They’re good controllers. But I’ve had 2 break where the smart triggers broke off internally. Really was kinda flimsy and there was no real support past if I send it in they would look at it. But shipping made that not worth doing. Ended up fixing it myself and is way more sturdy.
I got a battle beaver 7-8 months ago and it’s still perfect
Like I want another one but why spend more money on a controller when mine is fine only problem is that it was a budget build

I do love my custom PS4 controller from Battle Beaver. I can attest that increased stick tension really helps in shooters. I play Destiny 2 so the stick tension plus re-mapping really help for things like those annoying sliding shotgun kills. My one gripe is with the thumb sticks. My first issue was with their interchangeable snap on ones. I would suspect I'm not the only one, but when I press forward on a stick the pressure from my finger is basically pushing upward from the bottom side of the stick which would pop it off. So I thought I'll order myself some solid sticks that are the right length for me. Replacing the complete stick on a PS4 controller is NOT easy and in attempting this I apparently somehow shorted a wire and lost all function of the controller. The other issue I have with the solid sticks is with soft rubber, which eventually wears off. So I go and order another customer controller, this time with aluminum solid sticks. While I've been happy with this, was definitely a bit of time and money to get right. The stick replacement is probably the one thing SCUF does better, but I suspect that system of there's must have a patent on it as it would otherwise seem like a no brainer for any customer controller company to incorporate in their builds.

Kontrolfreek do their own attachment for thumbstick tension called precision rings. It would be cool if you could do a review on them and compare the differences to how it feels compared to a modified thumbstick tension
Didn’t work for me on my ps5 controller. I have auto run on and it wouldn’t even recognize me running. I got the medium tension was gunna try the lightest one but now dont want to waste even more money on sponge rings.
Don't use the rings on your left thumbstick, problem solved.
You should check out the eXtreme Rate back button diy kit for the Dual Sense! It's REALLY good compared to their older ds4 version!
A quick question about the resistance of the backside buttons. Are they similar in resistance as lets say, the Paddles on the Xbox One elite 2 controller? Or are they harder to press than those?
I purchased a pro pick PS4 controller from battlebeaver last year and after a weeks use I suffered stick drift either it was due to bad luck or maybe they just aren’t as amazing as you think

You know what’s a good way to solve the analog stick issue when pressing the face buttons, use gyro/motion controls. Gyro/motion controls specifically in shooters the aiming with it is near uncanny when compared to a mouse so you don’t need aim assist with it but hey motion controls are “stupid” right (you also don’t need a tall thumb stick). Also with the touchpad you could have it mapped where specific button presses in certain areas (aka is it is) input as different buttons but no one asks for this from devs in games not only that the touchpad can be used as a scroll wheel. I find it really weird that features that are already built into controllers that are better or can already do the things that someone may want instead of telling game devs to implement these ideas and concepts into gameplay they just fork over extra cash to either remove features and/or enhance by default flawed things (not fix them)
Anyone use the increased thumbstick tension for Fortnite? How is it for building and editing
I don't know if it's related to the DualSense build but i haven't seen any of them with Paddles instead of back buttons, i prefer paddles any day so that's the only reason i'm still sticking to Dualshock 4, also besides a change in design, we haven't really seen any advantage or improvement in stock controllers for pro gaming like better stick tension, more buttons or customization options, etc. i really wish the standard of controllers had evolved and that we had an elite version of the DualSense or DualShock. I've used all brands of elite controllers and honestly, now i stick to a dualshock with the Sony back button attachment, way cheaper and i can replace the thumbstick modules myself without paying for warranties or a ridiculous amount of money, only downside may be the stick tension which i can fix buying different modules, and if my controller dies or needs full replacement it doesn't hurt buying another dualshock for $60-80 instead of $200+
Where can I lean more about sending in my stock controller for customization and is this option available for stock PS5 controllers? Missed the 3rd wave so interested in this option
i went with nagashock instead since their turn around was only 2-3 weeks...one of the best decisions ive ever made.

Battle beaver begin the only company that I know of selling next gen controllers will put them so far ahead in the market. Good on them for taking advantage of the opportunity.
They do look good and would like to try one by they are a bit pricy would like to know other people's opinion on them before I buy.
Can I ask what placement you picked for you PS5 controller back buttons? Standard-lower? Medium-low? My fingers and hands lands in the same position as you and I don’t want to place the 4 buttons in an odd position.

Hey air bear, I have used a PS4 beaver controller pretty much since release, however I ordered an Xbox one beaver and just received it as I was told it’s less stress on my left thumb due to analog placement. Would you say you prefer the PS4, PS5 or Xbox controller ?
Air bear, what position are the lower buttons on your controller? In the builder there are two lower positions, low and lower(ring finger).
The problem with this is, you have to buy one to find out what you like and what you don’t like. Position of buttons on back - how do I know if I want them standard, low high etc without actually having to buy one first.
Standard is middle finger, low is ring finger, and there is a pinky option as well.
I have had issues with the interchangeable joysticks on an Aim custom controller. I know battle beaver offers the same ones. Do you have any opinions on the other joysticks BBC offers?
Can I ask where you have the rear buttons placed? I want to order one but I’m concerned about which location to place them compared to my fingers
I wonder about the durability with stick drift. I had a ps4 battle beaver controller get uncontrollable stick drift after 6 months. I have already returned a ps5 standard controller for similar issues. I hope ps5 battle beavers have something to combat stick drift issues to increase longevity
What placement are your back buttons? Are they standard or medium? And for the lower buttons, are they lower (ring finger) or low?

Just ordered my first one with 40% less tension in the sticks, a textures rear grip and XSX thumbsticks. I'm not a competitive player, I just wanna play games like Horizon and God of War without hand fatigue :D

I bought 1 for the ps4 thumb stick tension is ok . and there are pricey this time around i went with aim controller you get 4 buttons and smart trigger and bumpers with a support code 50 bucks cheaper than bbc .. Imo that's a great deal
Great review man. I'm with you, I also prefer a lighter controller. Its way more comfortable with long gaming sessions and I personally don't even care about rumble. I don't own any Battle Beaver controllers but they seem pretty awesome.

can’t waittt for the market to slow down a bit so i can grab one of these. i got my first battle beaver in 2017, about a year after my first scuf arrived in the mail, already broken and useless. i still use it every day; it’s in great condition. now i have two fully decked out, and they’re genuinely the best elite controllers i’ve ever owned. if anybody is on the fence about getting one, don’t be. the One con is For Sure the time it takes to get to you, but it’s well worth it once it arrives. especially if you’re used to scuf lmao (we all fell victim to the hype, don’t be ashamed)
I did in fact buy a scuf which is trash and only lasted like 2 months, sent it for a repair, lasted 1 more month and just wouldn’t turn on now. Tho I’m on the edge so now I have no good controller and you could say I play competitively on Call of duty Warzone. I’m on ps5 tho so should I buy a ps4 controller or wait until the ps5 drops and buy it? I’m closer to buy the ps4 tho because I can’t wait couple of months for the ps5 to drop.
@@saoud7655 imo if you’re playing competitively and can’t wait, you should just buy the ps4 controller, and sell it when you’re able to get a ps5. if you take good care of it, you should be able to get a pretty good re-sale price

have you heard of AimControllers? I haven’t tried a Battle beaver yet, but I’ve had the worst experience with Scuf and a great one with AimControllers. You check them out.
I got 2 controllers for PS4 and one for PS5. They do custom builds and/or ready to ship models. They’re available on Amazon for quick delivery and have a lifetime replacement warranty.
I have had one of my PS4 AIM controllers break and I sent it out to them and it was fixed and shipped back to me for $15. I paid for repairs because the issue wasn’t covered under the warranty.
What do you think of Aim Controllers. A lot of the same features added.

I was thinking about going with a Xbox series x controller because u can’t get the ps5 controller right now. I was going to get 4 back buttons and was wondering were I should get them placed. I was thinking the first 2 in the standard position and the second 2 in the lower position? Also I was wanting to get increased thumbstick tension and was wondering if I should get it on both thumbsticks or only on the thumbstick I aim with.
