I don't think he's willfully omitted him, I think he's completely forgotten about him because White has been playing at RB for Arsenal this season. He should definitely be in the conversation for the squad though, as well as Tomori

Tomori has the most tackles and the highest tackle success rate out of all English defenders. Yet he doesn't get a single minute....
Tbf the more a CB makes takles usually means he is not the most positionally aware and has to recover for mistakes.

Another point from what I've seen in games as well is that Tomori's interception success rate ( winning the ball without risking a foul) is high as well. He has tremendous pace, he knows how to shepherd opposition strikers away without having to force a tackle as well. You can tell the classic Italian influence is starting to take in his game. And he can distribute.

It’s actually insane Ben White is left out of the squad and tomori did not play… stones and tomori should start, Ben white would be my 3rd choice (or start at right back as he has to great effect this season with arsenal) and then guehi and Dier can be the other cbs, walker also an option with James, chillwell, trippier/Shaw and Trent as fullback choices. No need for maguire to get anywhere near that squad tbh…

If it's about trust, he shouldn't be in the job. Maguire is in terrible form and making mistakes, and if he still doesn't play Tomori because he doesn't trust him-even though Tomori has been outstanding and just won the league with Milan-that says more about his judgement and confidence as a manager than it does about the players.

He had 3 mistakes, resulting in 2 goals conceded. That's a normal performance for Maguire by recent standards. Everyone knows that except Southgate.
“England lacks centre back” and meanwhile you have White, Tomori, Dier, Walker, Smalling who can replace Maguire … talks about the guy being in denial.
Agree,... White, Tomori, Dier, Smalling, are good central defenders. But I think Walker should be right back. And so James, Arnold, Tripper, Walker are right back potential, Left back should be Chilwell and Shaw.

This is a clown if we being honest . The way he hated De Gea cause he wanted Dean to play was bit embarrassing, he then blamed De Gea for Maguire shortfalls , the mistakes Maguire did last game been happening at United for time , I was so happy that he did that playing for England since there has been this stupid talk by many including this clown Mark that Maguire plays better for England which I don’t see .
I can't believe Tomori is not getting a game for England. Him and Stones are England's best CB's rn and just coming off winning leagues for their clubs.
There were spells in that game where England looked absolutely superb in and around the attacking third. They really zipped the ball around nicely.
my former manager said, you cant be slow in both, meaning if your feet are slow your brain must be quick and vice versa. maguire is slow in his head, slow in his feet, slow everywhere, when he drives a car he goes as fast as a bicycle 10 miles an hour.
The headline makes me wanna listen to this only to find out it’s this chicken look alike lad called Mark Ogden who apparently his dating Maguire.
Maguires problem is he can't organise is feet. Watch the way he plays he struggles to make a 10 yard pass under pressure. But sprays 40 yards passes when given time.

Coady, White, Timori, Stones and taking Walker who can play on the right of a back 3 are all better options than a guy who hasn't played well for almost 2 years
Ben White solves a CB RB and probably DM back up positions....Gives the team better option to choose more players

Could we not operate a back 5 still but replace Dier for Maguire? We would still have the same model of Shaw, Stones, Dier, Walker and James/Trippier.
Walker would cover for diers lack of speed. I would then have sterling and Saka upfront as both quick on the counter.
Maguire is unfortunately a bit of a scapegoat at the moment to cover up for England's other flaws.
Englad is practically forced to play 3 at the back and usually 2 holding midfielders even though all these defenders normally play with a 4..... we all know it's needed just to cover for maguire's lapses in positional sense and decision making. He's been struggling for united for 2 years and it's painful watching him most of the time. We're thankful he finally found his place on the bench 😅

Put anyone in central defense other than Maguire. Any decent defender will do and it’s an upgrade.
Why are we criticising Trent for defending but we not criticising an actual defender in Macguire for his lack of defending. Atleast Trent had other qualities. Macguire is only a defender that can't defend no other notable characters.

Look at Denmark. Don't have as many top stars like England but they coached to play on the front foot. Keep pressing and pushing. England has so many talented players why do they have to play the way they do. Suppose it's comes back to the defence as that's their weakness and he is afraid of getting caught out

What's this fixation with Maguire? Last world cup & euro cup Maguire wasn't this bad but after the euro for Maguire it was a downhill fall & the presence in the squad itself is a big threat for england's chances in the world cup. He's slow, gawky & low on confidence & should be absolute NO for world cup if at all england want to go further in the worldcup. They're such a talented squad offensively it'll be a shame if they'll be out in the group stages itself in the world cup.

If they are germany or dutch they will play in the world cup.
The reason why southgate play maguire because he want to play with back 5, defend deep and looking for counter. When you defend deep you will use maguire physical to defend and thats where he might good at. But dont be fool, by protecting maguire you will sacrifice another aspect of the game which is attacking side.
I would bring Ivan Toney and JWP. Leave Maguire at home
