- I've officially been on hormones for 6 years! Just over a year ago I started experiencing negative side effects for the first time. In the last year it took a lot of experimenting to figure out how to maintain my mental health, physical health, sexual health, and keep clear skin. After stopping and starting hormones, microdosing hormones, starting retinol, I finally went back to my original hormone prescription and started taking Tadalafil.

Honestly, I'm glad that you decided to talk about this. Not to put myself out there, but I've been transitioning for a little over 2 years now. While they did make me aware of the side effects beforehand, I definitely wasn't happy with the ED part. It is good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way and that there are options out there.

i havent started hrt, im really concerned about penis atrophy and ed. i have been taking tadalafil for a few months because of ed from stress and relationship trauma. will tadalafil and regular sex/maturation prevent shrinkage?
How's it going now for you? I'm 2yrs on HRT and I was very worried about atrophy and shrinkage until around a year in - I used to make sure I got hard every few days, but now it's maybe once a month. Shrunk around an inch, but atrophy doesn't seem to cause me much pain
Im only going to use tadalifin to maintain length of skin and girth until my bottom surgery.
I want to do this but after I stop hormones for just a week I get more facial hair and dysphoria

No...Spiro alone will give one an androgynous appearance if MTF but for feminisation estrogen is required. If you're female then I think it will limit the productio

Vyšiel som ako transgender ako pred šiestimi rokmi a začal som rodovo potvrdzujúcou hormonálnou terapiou.
Začal som spirocolacton, aby som zastavil produkciu testosterónu a začal som si injekčne podávať estrogén, som tak vďačný za hormonálnu terapiu, ktorá mi definitívne zmenila črty tváre, zjemnila mi tvár, prerozdelila tuk v mojom tele a dala mi trochu viac bokov, trochu som sa rozvinula dýchacieho tkaniva, ale rozhodol som sa podstúpiť operáciu na ich posilnenie. Celkovo nerobím správne triediace hormóny a určite by som sa vrátil a urobil to znova viac ako päť rokov. Nemal som jediný negatívny vedľajší účinok a myslel som si, že žiadny nezažijem, ale postupom času som zistil, že moja sexuálna túžba klesá. začala som pociťovať erektilnú dysfunkciu. Mnohým trans ženám tieto vedľajšie účinky nevadia, ale pre mňa boli naozaj zničujúce.
Nikdy nechcem operáciu zadočku, vieš, že si naozaj užívam svoje telo, a tak ma naozaj frustrovalo, že lieky, ktoré mi zachránili život, negatívne ovplyvnili moje sexuálne zdravie.
Hanbil som sa za ne, tak som to tajil asi rok, kým som to už nezvládal, keď som si nechal zväčšiť prsia, musel som dva týždne pred operáciou zastaviť hormóny a dva týždne po operácii. Skončil som s vysadením hormónov na takmer dva a pol mesiaca a zatiaľ čo vysadenie hormónov určite zlepšilo moje sexuálne zdravie, skutočne to negatívne ovplyvnilo moje duševné zdravie. Takže som znova začal s hormónmi a potom som sa vo februári 2021 dozvedel o mikrodávkovaní. Takže od februára do mája som užíval menšie množstvo estrogénu a blokátorov testosterónu, pričom to výrazne zlepšilo moje sexuálne zdravie bez toho, aby to ohrozilo moje duševné zdravie. Na moje telo to malo naozaj negatívny vplyv. Keď sa v mojom tele prvýkrát zvýšil testosterón, keď som prešla pubertou, prílev testosterónu mi spôsobil naozaj zlé cystické akné a jediný spôsob, ako som sa ho mohol zbaviť, bol prechod na accutane, konečne som dostal svoje akné pod kontrolu hormónov. Ani raz som nebojovala s akné. Ale bohužiaľ zvýšenie hladiny testosterónu za posledný rok skutočne negatívne ovplyvnilo moju pokožku, takže posledné tri štyri mesiace som mal veľa neistoty, a tak som sa v júni rozhodol vrátiť sa k normálnemu režimu hormónov a začal som nový liek, táto roztomilá tabletka sa tu volá tadelofyl, je to liek na erektilnú dysfunkciu. Je to tabletka, ktorú užívam raz denne a ktorá pomáha uistiť sa, že som vždy pripravený. Toto je také trápne hovoriť o tom, že som to chcel odstigmatizovať, pretože jediné tváre, reklamy alebo podobné veci som videl bielych cisgender rovných mužov a to nie sú jediní ľudia, ktorí bojujú s ed. Prial by som si, aby som vedel, že pre mňa existujú možnosti, ale tiež chcem, aby sa zmenili zdravotné pravidlá, pretože moja poisťovňa by tento liek nekryla. Jednoducho preto, že som žena, ale medikamentózna liečba sa v mojom živote vážne zlepšila, pretože teraz môžem opäť začať užívať svoj normálny hormonálny režim, takže moje duševné zdravie je pod kontrolou. A moja pleť sa pomaly vracia do normálu
How come you stopped hormones for two months ? Was it doctors order ?
I decided to. I had to for a month to have surgery. I extended that to 10 weeks to improve my sexual health.
