What about an American bulldog?
Yes, German Shepherds are excellent guard dogs but they aren't for busy people!
or dobies lol.
You forgot to mention that ...
1. A guard dog is a HIGHLY TRAINED working dog.
2. A guard dog that is professionally trained is extremely expensive, $$$$$
3. A guard dog is not a service dog and can not go with you everywhere.
4. They HAVE to be continuously trained.
5. They are ALL not for an average person and can easily get out of hand with an inexperienced owner.
not really, many dogs have protectiveness in their instincts, not all of them have to be trained to protect
@@elw1530The Doberman is the only dog breed that was originally bred for protection. So no many dogs don't have instincts to protect humans. Dogs instincts are to protect themselves not you. Most dogs without training you see "protecting" their owners are really just fearful reactive dogs trying to protect themselves. Even dobermans 9/10 won't know or actually bite to protect their owners without training.
@@dakota54not at all, the GSD was bred for protecting livestock
A lot of guard dogs can be good for inexperienced owners . There are some breeds for inexperienced owners
1. no, some of them have instincts to guard
3. Idk what about the trained ones, but your dog îs your best friend and wanta to be always near you and if his job îs guarding you then you should have him by your side as often as possible
4. well, if you have trained him once then you should retrain them regularly
5. no, some of them are good for inexperienced person that is willing to put some efort în learning about dogs and the breed, for example pet line german shepherds, AMERICAN dobermans, swiss shepherds, boxers and more
Boxer as a guard dog? I have two and both bark when a stranger is near but then they just want to lick their face. Sweetest dogs ever.
Lol true, ask my big girl Coco Drool 🙈
It totally depends upon how you train them. I can say that with experience. My Labradors are professionally trained to be the guard dogs and I bet you when they are around me if I am threatened by anyone, that person will not be going away alive. Even though Labradors are not even having a guard dog image. They are supposed to be playful dogs. Also their jaw strength is also formidable (obviously much weaker than rottweilers and pitbull types of dogs but for human limbs, that is enough). So, it totally depends how you train most dogs.
It’s what they were bred for actually 😂
I had a boxer she died at 11 years of age. She was absolutely the best full breed dog I've ever raised. Not only was she an awesome protector she was very smart and athletic. That dog could jump privacy fences car and house windows no problem. I look at the boxer like I do the Belgium Mali.
@@sattujatt5975yes. 100% we had a black lab growing up. The cheapest sweetest girl. Great with kids at the park. But damn. If u came in the house and didn’t have permission. 😊 good luck
Chihuahua and an AK great combo... inexpensive reliable and vicious
Only if Chihuahuas are allowed and encouraged will they be mean. With proper training and socializing, they can actually be very sweet little dogs; I have 2 and both are therapy dogs.
You forgot about the Cane Corso. One of the best guard dogs
Absolutely but 100% not for busy people. They take a lot of work and dedication. As all of these breeds should
This why I was looking for this video but the one I went it’s missing in that video 😂
German Shepherd is the best family guard dog!! ❤
That's what I said....Rottweilers and Doberman are perfect gaurd dogs for a single male...but can be dangerous around children.
I have known some pretty antisocial Dobermans.
Try a kangal.
Rotties❤
I have a Rottweiler and cane corso they are so loyalty
Loved the Cane Corso herding the toddler 😂
There are no guard dogs for busy people. They require a lot of training to be a safe guard dog! And this training needs to be done ALL their life!
Bs. GSDs are BORN GUARD DOGS. They don't need to be trained to do it.
true
Loved my Rotti Ty
When you have kids then get a German shepherd then you do not need to worry about your kids 🎉🎉PLS GET A GERMAN SHEPERD
I have a male Dobie and huge female German shepherd. Best famoly dogs EVER! A local sherrif told me they both look very intimidating and if your intending to do harm at my home...They will protect me and their home. 😊

Do you want to sell any?
belgian malinois is #1
My kangal eats malinois for hors d'oeuvre.
@@ljss6805cringe.
I have a 11 german shepherds and 5 black and brown labs
Where's the Staffordshire (Pitbull)? They're sweet lovable goofballs that were originally bred as Nanny Dogs for their patience with children and protectiveness of family.
I’ve got a German Shepherd, so we are fine
Planning to get german shepherd and the rottweiler 😅
just some tax collector XDD
I have a German Shepherd ❤
I miss my boxer 😢😢😢
I have two Rottweilers and they are two lovely females, one is 8 and one is 2-3. neither of them act all scary and dangerous as people say, there just cuddle bugs and the younger
One is very playful. But I have every reason to say, they will protect in the time they need to protect us.
Rottweilers can be the nicest dogs if you own them, I’ve had negative experiences with them as there were several on the dirt road I used to live on and they were mean mfs. Their owners would let them just sit on the dirt road and they’d threaten anyone who was walking the road.
It’s really disappointing to me cause I want to like them a lot, and my cousins was like the nicest dog ever, but still haven’t gotten over my negative experiences yet.
@@earlenglish4674 aww, also sorry for the late reply- but I hope you get over the experiences :D
Boxers are hilarious dogs so much fun perfect family dog.
I have had a king shepherd like the one in terminator silver and with a black mask a black Doberman and a red dobby… The different times and I am telling you big dogs are marvelous… Absolutely marvelous
why does the boxer remind me of my black Labrador retriever 😂
Narrator: The boxer
Boxer: who me?
I have 2 doberman in my house❤
I have a German shepherd 😊
GSD ROTTWEILER Doberman Should be working line is more important for protection DUTY ❤
The first one they picked the right breed for chase
Once I got bit by a dog which lived right next to me, so I decided to get a German Shepherd, and whenever the dog tried barking at the German Shepherd, let’s just say he didn’t bark again
Surprised cane corso didnt make list🤔
👍 An excellent and amazing video. Very nice and good dog. Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful video.
The dog pushing the baby looks like a Cane Corso. 🙏💓
Definitely a Corso. Very loving dogs.
The thing is.. if you work long hours (12+++) and still want to be a dog owner, you want a large guardian dog. Plain and simple. Because they are the ones who can handle the solitude, as they have a job to do, when the owner is away. My GSD is 70cm on the shoulder, 68cm in the back, 45kg, basically a lap dog. I use him to train husky puppies and in 2 weeks, his daughter, 3rd gen wolfdog will join us. And my dog has been used to breed 6 different litters for my country. Healthy and they excell.
And staffs
You forgot about the Belgian Malinois
You forgot Rhodesian Ridgeback. Great with kids excellent defender.
the doberman is a great dog but please don't cut off their tail or pin their ears it is extremely painful to them and if you've ever been in a vets office and heard when they did that to a poor doberman puppy you would never want to hurt an animal that much and it is only for looks it has no positive reason to do it.
That is 100% false. The ears and tail are breed standard for health reasons, not appearance. The tail is fragile and prone to being broken. Breaking the tail is very common due to the high pain tolerance and drive of this breed. Docked tails are normally done immediately after birth, so the pup doesn't even feel it. The broken tail can be incredibly dangerous and painful for the dog. The ears are highly prone to ear infections that are also dangerous and painful for the dog. Clipping the ears helps mitigate the infection issues and allows them to communicate more effectively. Floppy ears are man made breeding defects. No wolf has floppy ears. Spreading mis information on a topic that you have little to no real experience with leads to more dogs in pain and suffering. Stop it. ✋️
@@nicebubbles you either have no heart, no empathy or have never heard how much pain it causes them. i told you my experience it is NOT misinformation. period!
@sarcasticlady this is mis information. Tails docked at birth or shortly after is for the safety of the dog. The clipped ears are twofold in mitigating infections and allowing them to communicate with their ears effectively. You have stated that the procedures are "purely cosmetic " and are cruel to the dog. That is a good intentioned emotional response to decades of breed standards that have been researched throughout the whole existence of the breed since created to protect and enhance the breed. The attacks on my character is expected from an emotional person who puts their feelings before the safety and health of dogs.
@@supposedly1-2just cant admit you opened your mouth but didnt know what you were talking about huh?
@@nicebubbles Ear infections can happen, the risk is lower with proper hygiene. But honestly clipping ears is just for the looks, no other breed with floppy ears will have them clipped, only the ones that should look "dangerous". It's also only helpful to dock the tail of working dogs (not all dogs that are breed for working, just the ones of them, that are actually working). If a dog is used for hunting and has to run a lot through dense thickets for example. Tails don't break that easily.
Pitbull laugh at the corner 😂
I can't think of one family member who I wouldn't gladly exchange for a GSD 😂😂
I have a German Shepherd and he's really really nice and he's protected will like not like me mean protective but he's kind of protective over me because I'm always around him but not anymore because he's in Portland
No:1 i have German shepherd
😊
What about the Labador mine is a great one for guarding
My Doberman pincher died. My dad got her in college and she lived my whole life until I turned nine. It’s so sad she was so kind and she would definitely protect us.😢❤
they are great dogs
So sorry for your loss. I have two 8yo Dobie boys and I am dreading that day 😢
Love from Germany ❤️🙋♀️
These dogs are so smart and sweet. But it seems like "Kangal" and "Cane Corso" were treated a little unfairly
and number 1
✨ Chihuahua✨
The Connie Corso ranks a lot higher than a boxer
Bull mastiffs are actually really soft dogs, they dont look it but they are really sweet
yes My dog is a German Shepherd makes it.He is a lap shepherd and husky. And he he he's mixed laptop, the husky mix and he is probably the best guard dog.He bit someone before, but it didn't break his skin.So he's really lucky. He's only seven years old the dog
God damn those biceps
i have 4 german shepherds.
I have a st bernard and she is super protective when she doesn’t know someone that comes in the house she will stand in front of me with her body against staring at them barking or go in between my legs and bark
I have a rottweiler
Love them all all great dogs it's the jerk at the end of the leash that makes them what they are
Don't forget the Canis Panther
My vote?
The Doberman and the Rottweiler.
But to be honest...both are dangerous dogs.
In general...their both too big and mean to trust around children.
A large, tough dog can hurt a child without intending to do so.
So if you have little ones...a German shepherd is perfect.
@bigalsnow8199, yep, I agree!😒
However, I do LOVE the German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, and Rottweiler!😍💪
Beautiful
Team, German shepherd
Bro seriously missed the Belgian malenois
Dog with Chucky😨😨
I live on a Farm and we have guard dogs, you dont have to train them, they know what to do.
When they say “don’t believe everything on the internet” they mean such things. All those dogs need intense training and definitely not for busy people.
Idk but a big rotwielar almost bited me
Las personas tienen que aprender muy mucho de los perros ❤
Cane corso or tasa inu
He did NOT just eat that bubble 💀😭😭
The Cane Corso, that is following behind the baby, is SO adorable!🤗 But, I feel that the Cane Corso, with a [700psi] bite force, [should] be on this list, instead of the Boxer.😐
For me, personally, I would definitely choose the German Shepherd, and the Doberman Pinscher, as my guard dogs. I, really LOVE, the Germ-Shep, and the Dobe-Pin!❤️ German Shepherds, and Doberman Pinschers, are Military, and K-9 Police dogs...fierce, and tough!💪 Plus, the German Shepherd, is the [3rd.] Smartest breed, and the Doberman Pinscher, is the [5th.] Smartest breed. Also, both the German Shepherd, and the Doberman Pinscher, are GORGEOUS, and they are not to be [messed] with.🙏
Also, you cannot go wrong, when you a dog that was bred, the big, bad, Doberman Pinscher, to protect the Tax Collector.😎 Thank you, Mr. Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, Tax Collector, in Germany, for creating this AWESOME, Man-Made-Masterpiece, the Doberman Pinscher, in [1890].😍
Also, of note, four (4) [German] breeds, made this list: German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, and Boxer.👏
cane corso is the best family dog and guard they have alot of energy and love outdoors and need alot of exercise they are gentle and nice to the right people but the wrong person come to your backyard they are going to go missing
Any thought on Bull Terrier? Is a good Guard dog? Loving the clownish smile and attitude
