    You forgot to mention that ...
    1. A guard dog is a HIGHLY TRAINED working dog.
    2. A guard dog that is professionally trained is extremely expensive, $$$$$
    3. A guard dog is not a service dog and can not go with you everywhere.
    4. They HAVE to be continuously trained.
    5. They are ALL not for an average person and can easily get out of hand with an inexperienced owner.

    • @elw1530

      not really, many dogs have protectiveness in their instincts, not all of them have to be trained to protect

    • @dakota54
      @dakota54 Před 11 měsíci +9

      @@elw1530The Doberman is the only dog breed that was originally bred for protection. So no many dogs don't have instincts to protect humans. Dogs instincts are to protect themselves not you. Most dogs without training you see "protecting" their owners are really just fearful reactive dogs trying to protect themselves. Even dobermans 9/10 won't know or actually bite to protect their owners without training.

      1. no, some of them have instincts to guard
      3. Idk what about the trained ones, but your dog îs your best friend and wanta to be always near you and if his job îs guarding you then you should have him by your side as often as possible
      4. well, if you have trained him once then you should retrain them regularly
      5. no, some of them are good for inexperienced person that is willing to put some efort în learning about dogs and the breed, for example pet line german shepherds, AMERICAN dobermans, swiss shepherds, boxers and more

      It totally depends upon how you train them. I can say that with experience. My Labradors are professionally trained to be the guard dogs and I bet you when they are around me if I am threatened by anyone, that person will not be going away alive. Even though Labradors are not even having a guard dog image. They are supposed to be playful dogs. Also their jaw strength is also formidable (obviously much weaker than rottweilers and pitbull types of dogs but for human limbs, that is enough). So, it totally depends how you train most dogs.

    The thing is.. if you work long hours (12+++) and still want to be a dog owner, you want a large guardian dog. Plain and simple. Because they are the ones who can handle the solitude, as they have a job to do, when the owner is away. My GSD is 70cm on the shoulder, 68cm in the back, 45kg, basically a lap dog. I use him to train husky puppies and in 2 weeks, his daughter, 3rd gen wolfdog will join us. And my dog has been used to breed 6 different litters for my country. Healthy and they excell.

    the doberman is a great dog but please don't cut off their tail or pin their ears it is extremely painful to them and if you've ever been in a vets office and heard when they did that to a poor doberman puppy you would never want to hurt an animal that much and it is only for looks it has no positive reason to do it.

    • @nicebubbles
      @nicebubbles Před rokem +9

      That is 100% false. The ears and tail are breed standard for health reasons, not appearance. The tail is fragile and prone to being broken. Breaking the tail is very common due to the high pain tolerance and drive of this breed. Docked tails are normally done immediately after birth, so the pup doesn't even feel it. The broken tail can be incredibly dangerous and painful for the dog. The ears are highly prone to ear infections that are also dangerous and painful for the dog. Clipping the ears helps mitigate the infection issues and allows them to communicate more effectively. Floppy ears are man made breeding defects. No wolf has floppy ears. Spreading mis information on a topic that you have little to no real experience with leads to more dogs in pain and suffering. Stop it. ✋️

    • @nicebubbles
      @nicebubbles Před rokem +5

      @sarcasticlady this is mis information. Tails docked at birth or shortly after is for the safety of the dog. The clipped ears are twofold in mitigating infections and allowing them to communicate with their ears effectively. You have stated that the procedures are "purely cosmetic " and are cruel to the dog. That is a good intentioned emotional response to decades of breed standards that have been researched throughout the whole existence of the breed since created to protect and enhance the breed. The attacks on my character is expected from an emotional person who puts their feelings before the safety and health of dogs.

      @@nicebubbles Ear infections can happen, the risk is lower with proper hygiene. But honestly clipping ears is just for the looks, no other breed with floppy ears will have them clipped, only the ones that should look "dangerous". It's also only helpful to dock the tail of working dogs (not all dogs that are breed for working, just the ones of them, that are actually working). If a dog is used for hunting and has to run a lot through dense thickets for example. Tails don't break that easily.

    The Doberman and the Rottweiler.
    But to be honest...both are dangerous dogs.
    In general...their both too big and mean to trust around children.
    A large, tough dog can hurt a child without intending to do so.
    So if you have little ones...a German shepherd is perfect.

    The Cane Corso, that is following behind the baby, is SO adorable!🤗 But, I feel that the Cane Corso, with a [700psi] bite force, [should] be on this list, instead of the Boxer.😐
    For me, personally, I would definitely choose the German Shepherd, and the Doberman Pinscher, as my guard dogs. I, really LOVE, the Germ-Shep, and the Dobe-Pin!❤️ German Shepherds, and Doberman Pinschers, are Military, and K-9 Police dogs...fierce, and tough!💪 Plus, the German Shepherd, is the [3rd.] Smartest breed, and the Doberman Pinscher, is the [5th.] Smartest breed. Also, both the German Shepherd, and the Doberman Pinscher, are GORGEOUS, and they are not to be [messed] with.🙏
    Also, you cannot go wrong, when you a dog that was bred, the big, bad, Doberman Pinscher, to protect the Tax Collector.😎 Thank you, Mr. Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, Tax Collector, in Germany, for creating this AWESOME, Man-Made-Masterpiece, the Doberman Pinscher, in [1890].😍
    Also, of note, four (4) [German] breeds, made this list: German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, and Boxer.👏
