With Ryan's czcams.com/users/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE plan I was like one taken by the hand and led step by step from start to finish. Thank you very much Ryan!
You're really posting a link to some shitty and totally overprized shed plans on this channel where you're getting excellent advise for free???!!! You're downright brazen!
Just built this. Thanks for posting. I will warn you though that this will take you longer than an hour and a half to build if your garage is anything like mine and you have to push all the crap out of the way to actually make space to build. Then add in time that you spend tripping over all of your shit, time spent at the ER because an injury related to tripping over said shit, time finding your tools, and you’re easily at a day or two worth of work.
In all seriousness though, this is an easy and cost effective build. I added jack studs to the front legs at the end to help make the front legs stronger. I would recommend the same. You will sleep better at night.
I literally spewed DR pepper from my nose reading this comment. IT BURNS
It’s nice to know there are other “messy” garages out there. Mine is not the only one lol
Lol 😂
Too funny, and soooo true to what is going on in my garage! I'm a bit of a wood hoarder, and what I'm using to store it isn't very efficient. I spent yesterday doing exactly what you described, with the intent of focusing on building it today. I unloaded the wood, removed the hangers, and spent a good deal of time trying to locate one of my five tape measures, one of my many sized levels, etc. So far, no injuries, but I think I managed to get my 10,000 steps in just LOOKING for shit!!!
Totally! 😂It’ll take me a few hours to clear out all our crap first, without injuries! The build will be a breeze. Then sorting thru, recycling, donating and tossing of said crap. Then put it all away on our pretty new shelves.
I’ve watched your other videos on how to do these shelves but it was actually SUPER helpful to see how you do it by yourself. The tips/tricks were great!
the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. czcams.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
It's nice to see these scaled up for the workshop. Thanks, Jacob, for illustrating that it's not just Ana who can build these!
Love watching your plans come together and your whole family. You guys are amazing!
I remember you doing this in your garage. Nice, simple, inexpensive way to build shelving.
Great video and thumbs up !!
Fast. Simple. Love it. Great explanation Jacob.
I've always loved the simplicity of this. Great job Jacob, I heard you fine.
Thank you so much! These are great shelves and showing how to do them solo, and with minimal tools, really helps! I know what I'll be doing next spring!
That was really Awesome and i really wanted to make some shelving, it just looked so hard and such a huge task, but not now, you made it so easy and your shelves look so Awesome, Thanks for sharing.
Oh thank you thank you thank you! I'm a lone carpenter and that means coming up with ways to move things from point A to B and how to hold them still and in place while you work on 'em. This info was just the ticket. Bless both of you and your family and friends! 💟🦌🦉🐱
Quick and super user friendly!!! I just built these across the entire back of my garage and added doors. Thanks Ana and Jacob!
You sir are an excellent teacher. Thank you.
Simply brilliant! Brilliant design, Ana, and brilliant instruction, Jacob! Thank you.
Built these same shelves
in my brothers garage after watching the first video of this, thank you
You two have grown so much especially Jacob since you started with your ‘Mom’ houses. More vibrant screen delivery and presentation. Good job on the house and projects. Great job on the kids and channel.
Wow!! I love those,I need some more shelves, I think I can do that! Thank you for sharing this, love yalls videos..
Great looking shelves. I really like the details you verbally added, helps keep costs down for sure! Thanks for posting
You’re so kind to pass along all of your brilliant building tips and designs. Thank you...awesome work and it looks fantastic!
Did this today, getting the garage back under control!
I have made these in the past based off an older video yinz did. They are so simple, yet so great. I use the kreg for joining the supports to rear horizontal 2x4. Big box store offers 2 cuts for free at the panel saw so I have them rip my OSB there, saves me a step. Thanks for great ideas and plans!
Great idea for the shelves. This method could also be used to make bunk beds in a cabin. Simple, cheap and sturdy
Thanks. Put everything in my HD cart to hopefully get this done this weekend.
This is awesome! can't wait to try it. Have been looking for a quick easy way to build heavy duty shelves for my garage! Thank you for the video!!
Binge watching so many videos.
Have a 12x24 shed ordered.
ZT, and 2 push mowers and wood working tools so was looking for shelving ideas. For a 1 man band this seems to be tje smartest yet! Also have pocket hole jig so your commentary on this and tips on keep saw lined up properly is a big help for a non-carpenter guy like me.
Yeah I'm late to this party but TY for this!😊
Awesome, happy to help!
I wish I would have seen this before we built our storage shelves. This is way more efficient and one person friendly. Thank you!
This is the quickest method out of several garage shelf videos!
Great job! Thanks for the tip. Gonna build these in the garage. Just what I have needed for a while. I can't even wall through my garage right now.
I remember when I built mine. The hubby took the kids to soccer practice and when he came back I was done. Love love Ana White plans
Wow really??
Awesome 👩🔧🛠👍🏽
I can't believe I didn't think of the spacer block when I was building these after watching your first video
thank you and your wife for this. i've used the method once and am about to use it again. very straightforward and your explanation was equally straightforward and easy to follow...well done.
My husband built shelves for my sewing/craft room this way! I love them!
Thank you for sharing !! Your experience in wood working is a joy to watch. You made this shelving at a very affordable price. I think I'm going to try this one out. Thank you again 👍👍💖😊
Thank you soo very much Jacob! I finally got around to completing this project over the weekend and it turned out fantastic. I did it by myself and it took around 5 hours, as I don’t have much experience in building, and have never done anything like this by myself. I couldn’t have done it without your tricks and tips, and when I explained to friends and family how I did this with no helper and in a single day, they were all amazed. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I've made two sets of shelves so far for my mothers huge garage. Watching this again as a refresher since I'll be building some up in my garage this weekend. I had home depot do the big cuts for me which saved a lot of time and mess. Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge man!
VERY helpful! I'm not a professional and I've built several of these types of shelves. Lots of simple and useful tips in this video. Thanks.
Awesome video. I think this is the best video I've seen on how to build your own garage shelving. You really took the complexity and mystery out of building a shelf. Thanks so much for this video. I will be using this to build my own.
Love watching this family ❤️
LOVE the 1 person tips!
Good job. I remember your other video how to build shelves like that. I did save that for my future garage when I am able to move into country in North Texas smile
Jacob you are a perfect example of someone who can work alone and still get the job done. For many years I have come up with different ways to get the job done by myself when help wasn’t available. It goes even faster when you have help. You guys really get things done. I never miss a video. Thanks for sharing all this.
The only way I can get a job done is by myself!😂🤣 When I did HVAC, I used to work weekends because no one would be in my way. I could finish twice the work in half the time. 👍
Jacob, awesome video. It adds nicely to the short video Ana did for this shelving. I loved the tips and they REALLY helped. Thanks for the help.
I just made these shelves last weekend I'm not any kind of carpenter and I did a little customization to fit my needs ....great video definitely was a confidence booster for me ...thank you!
Great video, simple instruction and easy to follow along. Thanks.
Excellent video, well done - I'm getting ready to tackle this and will have it playing as I build - thanks again.
Great tutorial, design, and execution!
Thanks for sharing your handy work Jacob. Looks Great!👍👍👍
The stringer idea blew my mind
DIY friendly for sure.
Nice simple way to get that front edge square and level! Thanks!
So happy for this recommendation. Temporarily sistering the horizontal 2x4s and then attaching the verticals is just the tip I needed. I think I can do this now by myself. My shelves won't be as tall as yours. TFS👏👏👏
Genius!!! Watching from Brazil!!
Awesome! It’s 2 AM where I live and I’m gonna start right now! Y’all motivated me!
Thanks so much! Built one of these yesterday.
This is an extremely helpful and informative video. Thank you!
I cant thank you enough for this. God bless brother
What a wonderful teacher Jacob is. Very nice & looked pretty simple. I know it was hard work though. That plywood is not light. Now I know how to build shelves all by myself thanks to y'alls help & instructions & design by Ana White.
I would like to try this sometime when my husband is off fishing one night. Ha, wouldn't he be surprised when he came back from fishing. Then if I told him I did it all by myself he would probably say, ha, your Mother helped you hold those boards up for you. Then I could say ha, your wrong sucker..... lol....
Thanks again guys. Your the best,
Chris from Missouri
My new house is just weeks away from being move in ready! I watched all of your garage shelving videos and decided your way was exactly how to do it. I told my daughter how simple you made it and had her watch the video. Before you got to the part where you barely screwed in the horizontal 2x4s to the ones attached to the wall she said "I don't know what the big deal is." Kids right? Then she realized what you were doing and I could tell she was impressed and she said "That is so smart!!" When she builds her first set of shelves I guarantee you she will do it the exact same way. Thanks you guys!!
Exciting, so happy to help!
I just use a 2x2 for the back cleat. Just rip it down from a 2x4 to save money. It would save 4 2x4x12 on this project. Also, the audience needs to know to never use drywall screws on structural stuff like the frame. Deck screws are fine, or a 16 penny spike has a shear strength of about 3000 Lbs. Great instruction on the video
Took me 4 hours, but wait, 2 1/2 cleaning up the area. Worked like a champ! Very sturdy thanks for the video. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ana is a good carpenter engineer, she figures out how to effectively and efficiently things works. You should do courses on how to use that software (I think it's called sketchup, not sure though).
Good morning
Awsome shelves! Thanks for the information
Your presentation and simple explanation are just awesome! Thanks much for sharing
Fantastic job ! Thank you for sharing your knowledge... Great tips
What I like to do when I rip plywood is to screw on a board to ride the saw against so I don't even need to eyeball the cut line at all during cutting. Very ingenious method! Love it! Will be using this in my fam's garage!
I can't cut a straight line with a circular saw without a guide board. The cordless saw has to help but I always get the wobbles.
I do the same. Much easier
Thanks. I am looking for shelf ideas for my pole building. Your shelving is exactly what I need.
Regards from Ody Slim
I remember the first version of this tutorial from about 3 years ago... it’s now at 4.3 million views! Good job Ana!
Love this video! It shows how a project can be done with basic tools and a solo person. Thank you for that! ❤️🦋💜
Happy to help, thanks for the visit!
In two words THANK YOU!!!!
I needed something just like this.
Happy to help, thanks for the visit!
Love the way you did thgat.
Awesome no nonsense instructional video. Thank you very much.🙏🏻
Glad it was helpful!
I used this and made some very similar shelves. They turned out great. I had a few issues such as a 3" sloping foundation lip on the bottom that made it difficult to line up the boards to take out. That was the hard part. But if I were to make again though I would make my shelves 32" wide instead of 24". I've found 24" is just not wide enough for me. Would require a couple extra 2x4's and sheets of osb for shelves but well worth it imo.
You and Ana are amazing!. I'm so glad both of you are a part of your CZcams channel.
Thank you so much!
PERFECT! Excellent, easy, inexpensive shelves! You guys really did a great job with the video too. I like that the first shelf build is detailed and then the second shelf build is time lapsed. Cute baby at the end. Thanks so much for sharing! 🤓👍🏼
Our pleasure!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing !
Great work, I added a brace at the bottom of the legs back to the wall just in case the legs got knocked or hit.
You are a great teacher, you explain everything very well. You should do a video on, how to use and cut straight, with a circular saw.
Awesome ! Thank you ! I would have built over the door as well.
Outstanding video. Finished two sets of shelves this weekend after watching this. Learned a lot along the way. Second set went up easier than the first.
Fantastic!
I love the simplicity of this build. Thank you for showing me this. I appreciate it very much.
Glad to help!
Can, wait to do this! Thank you
My next project! This Really simplifies it!
I used your design a few years ago for my garage. After several videos and much planning I took on the project. I installed them all by myself. The best thing I ever did. Thank you so much
Great to hear!
Thanks so much, for sharing! I've built lots of shelves, but this is not only simple, it's quickly and easy!
Glad it was helpful!
By far the best instructional for utility shelves I've seen so far. I'm building a set this weekend and this is perfect. I love it. Nuff said.
Glad it was helpful!
I built something just like this a few years back when I did an add on to my shop/garage. It was cheap and not hard to do, however it would have been easier if I had used some of your tricks there. I shall be using those ideas when I do some shelves in my main garage in a little while. Thanks for the tips!
Fantastic!
It never ceases to amaze me, as revealed here, that the original plumber “jury rigged” a shortcut so as cheaply but unprofessionally solder in a 1/2” homemade plug. A professional would use properly sized adapters. Thanks to your adding the threaded adapter, at least the future owner will benefit. Well done. Just FYI, my builder allowed the plumber to have that bibb BEFORE the home’s shutoff valve. To replace the spigot, the inconvenience is the result of unprofessional contractors. Thanks for your work.
Building a 12 foot shelf tomorrow, thank you so much for the helpful tips, been a much needed project for the garage.
Fantastic, so happy to help!
Keep up the great work . I enjoy learning from your informative video's. Thanks.
I did something VERY similar in my basement 10 years ago. The inside 2x4's were being screwed to the concrete walls and so I had to predrill holes and use concrete screws. I also used treated 2x4's to mount to the concrete walls and regular 2x4's for everything else. One other thing I did was routed a lip on the inside of the 2x4's to set the OSB into so that the edges were hidden and protected by the 2x4's. Putting things on and taking things off the shelves, over time, would tear the OSB edges up.
Yes I was also thinking to predrill the holes that goes into the concrete walls and use concrete screws for those ones then use wooden screws for the wood
Thank you brilliant system
Absolutely love Anna's designs and Jacob's skill. Always excited to see what you are doing.
(*Jacob*) 😁
@@Smithb83 thanks. Darn auto correct. Fixed it.
Excellent tip. I will be renovating my store room. This presentation adds more clarity to what I was about to do. Great job. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
We have used these shelves in our last 3 houses. They are awesome. So easy to build and very sturdy
Glad you like them!
These shelves are brilliant 👍
Great idea, so helpful. Thank you Jacob and Ana.
P.S. Lovely to see baby too x
Thank you great JOB
Wow. Thanks for idea. We appreciate you and your family. Many blessings.
Thank you!
my goal for next Spring, thanx buddy
