That's certainly true. If one constantly has to hide what one is, thoughts, feels, and etc., there can and most likely will have an adverse effect on a person, losing, perhaps, part of themselves. This can cause them to lose who they currently are. This I think is a rather sad thing when someone has the want or need in their eyes to do this on account of someone else.
