- From sweaty hands to dark smelly patches under our arms, sweating often gets a bad rep. It might be one of the weirdest biological functions of our body, but it is a vital and little-understood process that has helped to keep us alive.
Professor Sarah Everts says it is time for us to find joy instead of shame in our sweat.

Wish the video also touched on people who have hyperhidrosis. Sweating can be incredibly embarrassing and uncomfortable for millions of people.
I have that. I'm always the first to sweat, and profusely at that. Fortunately, I don't live in any circles where that is a problem.
BILLIONS of people. If a lot of people sweat normally it doesn't mean that it is any less embarrassing.
@@Iksvomid that's pretty ridiculous to be embarrassed about sweating. Are you also embarrassed about breathing?
@@theobserver9131 It isn't, not just excessive sweat matters, all sweat matters
There’re perspirants and laser treatments darling
I forgot there is a stigma about sweat. I think that is an artifact of modern urban culture, where people live far from nature in air conditioned offices and schoolrooms, wearing uncomfortable fancy clothes.
True exactly
Sweating has a weakness, that it only works in arid weather. Evaporation itself grinds to a halt when the ambient hummity is 70% or higher.
Tell me about it.
I didn’t know there was a stigma about sweat. How stupid it’s a normal part of life!
People who live in mostly an artificial environment, office workers etc. and high society people. Nobody I know that's for sure! Nobody I know is bothered by sweat.
I guess they need people to want antiperspirant.
So you are saying she is creating problems in her head. Interesting.
The more you sweat the BETTER you feel
So true I started working out till it looks like I showered and I feel like a completely different person
You just need to keep your under arms cleaned well, to keep the odors away. Move that soap around, to get the bad bacteria killed off.
Yeah....no. Depends on diet, health, and whatever cultures you have picked up.
Hand sanitizer works to rid of smell quickly!
No matter how much soap I use under my arms, that annoying aloe vera smell will return in about 30 minutes.
It was interesting, thanks
Nice one
Indeed
I have a really hard time sweating, I have to work out like there’s no tomorrow, otherwise it’s nonexistent. My kids dad on the other hand, will sweat like there’s no tomorrow after just eating a jalapeño.
😁 Maybe yall should buy a sauna.
So basically you can do anything without breaking a sweat?
That thing about health insurance at the end.... That pisses me off so much! How ironic and obscene that "" health insurance "" is not there for using. oh, you might actually need some healthcare? Yeah well, you can't have it.
Always with my perspirant 😊
Why do I sweat only from neck and up head area. But my younger sister said she sweat only from her waist down.
So what you're saying is, Prince Andrew doesn't have superpowers?
Oh wait, nevermind, he has money, which is the strongest superpower.
Going keto completely removed my body and foot odor.
I don’t sweat and I want to know why😣 I can barely exert myself before I overheat and my heart starts racing and no damn sweat ever happens😖
The same with me for many years. Overheated easily during hot summers. But now I've started to notice that I smell slightly of sweat sometimes. I take it as a sign of better health.
Get your thyroid checked!!
@@pr23487 I have and it’s always normal😅 But it would make so much sense with my symptoms if it was thyroid related. But maybe the normal range isn’t normal for me just have to find a doctor who actually cares enough to investigate😬
So the gland that is a cause for the stinky sweat is the one that releases pheromones for potential mates? Is that what it's for? Is this why some people think some stink and others like the smell? -
Yea
But Prince Andrew can’t even sweat?
Some of the pictures and videos chosen to feature in this short reel 😂👌 I can’t
1:08 a Diva is born
This is a sweaty one 😂
My hands and feet sweat…And I live in Florida. They sweat just typing this.
I'm the exact opposite. My feet and hands are always cold everytime even when I'm wearing socks
One for Andrew
Fkers got me with the clickbait nadal thumbnail.
OMG are you punking Andrew, hilarious.
Bet Prince Andrew isn't watching this, as it doesn't apply to him.
I have hyperhydrosis. This vid doesn’t count for me.
I don't like the word 'sweat' is sounds squeamish, call it 'perspiration' instead ;)
Think ya mean perspiration my man.
@@dudemanyeah1645 that's what I thought I typed, until you pointed out, lemme change it right away :)
Haha no worries mate. Thought I’d get in early so you don’t get hounded and abused by the internet crazies.
@@dudemanyeah1645 yes! You saved my from them, thank you for that bro 🙌
Funny conversation! I love nice people. I hate auto correct! Lol.
ja. ask ex prince andrew 😜
I cured my sweaty man nipples by moving to a low humid/cooler country
Climate apocalypse? FFS.

OP is really first. Believe me, I am 2nd!
Dame
Ok?
@@ibranmlr6139 Nope
Any and every excuse to refer to a “climate apocalypse”. What drivel. If that happens you won’t have to worry about sweating, Karen.
