- Video describing how to use a laptop or tablet as a gauge cluster to monitor vital engine functions & parameters. Also explains and shows the cabling harnesses required to hook up to the Holley Terminator X-max ECM to the tablet or laptop. Using a tablet or laptop as our gauge cluster is much cheaper then using the $700.00 to $2000.00 dollar plus Holley digital dashes that can be purchased. Also we make sure that all systems in Project Turbo LS are working properly and as expected before we actually take our boosted L.S. 6.0 on an actual road test. Also we make sure our 4L85E transmission is working as we shift into reverse and forward gears while monitoring engine oil pressure, engine temp, transmission temperature etc. Also which button we have to press on our tablet in order that it functions as our virtual dash ( USB link button must be pressed ).Update : Now we are building a 408 boosted LS. I'll do the in car video's and performance tests with this combo. Video's will be coming soon as the new engine is ready to drop in shortly. Also make sure to configure your power settings on the tablet. Set the power to never turn of when plugged in, or charging. In our case the tablet is plugged into our 12 volt outlet hooked into the cars electrical system. Set to never the go to sleep mode or screen saver, If the tablet is just running of the battery it's default setting is usually to turn off after 5 minutes to save power. Does Holley have an oil pressure gauge for that cluster?
Yes if you look at the video and on the tablet , the lower far left gauge tells you the oil pressure. Thanks for your interest and for watching......Oliver
Does the speedometer work if so do you have the hot spot the tablet from your phone

Do you have to have the handheld? Or can you just run a tablet?
Yes, you can just make changes to the engine parameters using only the laptop if desired. They give you the hand-held for initial set-up and to get your engine up and running. I just keep the hand-held mounted in the car and bring the laptop when I want to run gauges and see exactly what's happening with the engine and transmission at all times...Thanks for watching....Oliver

Hello. I'm running the GM 4L85E 4 speed automatic transmission. 4L85E and 4L80E can be found in the junk yard in 2500 series GM trucks or turbo diesel powered trucks for the 4L85E which has a 695 ft-lb torque rating vs only 440ft-lb for the 4L80E because the 85E has 5 pinion gears vs 4......thanks for watching and commenting.....Oliver

What was the brand
It was a Venturer 11.6" windows tablet from Amazon. Not sure they still this tablet but they have similar windows tablets I'm sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.....Oliver
