I’m just so glad that we know that new characters are possible. It didn’t seem likely since it’s called the Booster Course Pass after all.

I honestly had no idea this track was going to look as good as it does! I mean, it has NO right looking this amazing! I love that you go through the different biomes of the island, from the desert area to the jungle to the clouds to the underwater section (ok, maybe not in that exact order..), and it just looks so cool and fun to play! I honestly can't wait to play this, and I hope it releases next month.. but I'm kind of guessing maybe we'll have to wait until April. It'll be worth the wait for this track alone though, and I'm sure we'll get a whole bunch of other great tracks as well! So glad to see that Birdo is back too!!
I actually predict we'll get Wave 4 on the 29th of March because it's one week before April 5th which is when Mario Kart Tour should get its annual Yoshi Tour for Easter (April 9th). As such we would get a full trailer two weeks before release which would be on the 15th of March, possibly monday so the 13th. This means a full trailer would be 5 weeks from now on which I think is a perfectly reasonable wait period considering we are in the middle of the wait time for two waves.
For the flowers around the coins at 4:13 ,they are floating in a circle around the coins, not connected to the house
This course turned a lot better than I thought it would when I first heard about it in the datamines. A lot of nostalgia hit me seeing it because Yoshi’s Island DS was one of my first games ever lol
Some other small details that you missed is that when collecting a Yoshi coin it makes the same noise as it does from the original Yoshi's Island, when a player gets hit they make a unique sound effect that is probably from Yoshi's Island, the chain chomps in the background have unique animations to this level and also have their back stump removed where the chain connects to so they're perfectly round like in the original Yoshi's Island, and a cool detail about the ?-mark cloud is that when it's hit it produces the same pixelated particle effect as it does from Yoshi's Island
Also the ?-mark cloud is cell shaded yet nothing else is which is odd to me. I wonder if the devs did that just to make it more obvious that you should try and aim for it when gliding
I’m so happy that Nintendo is also bringing in completely brand new tracks to the DLC and not only just reusing old ones. I’m also surprised that they brought Birdo back as a playable character. So excited for this wave to come out!
The coins also make the same coin sound from Yoshi's Island. You can hear it at the end of the trailer.

Not just Diddy Kong but Funky Kong, Paratroopa, Petey Piranha, Hammer Bro, and Spike, just as Nintendo said returning characters will be appearing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in future waves.
Now that Birdo from Mario Kart Double Dash is going to be added in Wave 4 along with Yoshi's Island, hopefully we'll see more returning Mario Kart characters in future waves very soon.
I need my main man Funky Kong to return to the series! And I wouldn't mind seeing Diddy back either 🤗

Quite the missed opportunity right there. They could've also added Kamek to the roster, mostly because he's the most prominent villain in Yoshi's Island.

I can't see Funky coming this wave, he'd feel like a random inclusion when taking into account the Yoshi theme. Kamek however!

they said 8 courses and 1 character, funky will most likely come in wave 6
in the screenshot of the flower ring at the end, firstly it's not attached to the house just floating above the ground like in the game, you can see those blue dots in between each flower in the circle just like in the game, and noticeably one of the flowers is larger than the others meaning it most likely will be cycling around the ring again just like in the game. the amount of detail and references in this track is insane. also missed that when you get a coin it plays the coin sound from yoshi's island instead of the regular one. maybe the victory theme will even be the goal theme from yoshi's island just like in animal crossing and the fzero tracks

I think that the volcano exploding is a reference to Mario Galaxy 2. In the Yoshi Star Galaxy where Mario would ride Yoshi, he would reach a launch star that would blast him and Yoshi to the next area with the volcano exploding behind them.
I'm actually really impressed with this track! I wasn't sure what I would think hearing about it before, but now that I've seen it, I am amazed!! SO EXCITED ABOUT BIRDO
We could be seeing a bunch of characters in wave 4 and Birdo is one of them
If Amsterdam Drift is datamine to be coming to the Booster Course Pass Wave 4 it would be crazy if they added Rosalina (Volendam) from tour just update the trick animations and the model same for the other courses datamine to come back
If DK Summit is returning it would be likely if Funky Kong could come back
Also same for Daisy (Farmer) for Amsterdam Drift

@Luca Ganz I saw a channel that says this Yoshi’s Island, a new course, is zooming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass DLC. Birdo, who originally hit the track in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, is also being added. *Returning characters from the Mario Kart series will be added in future waves* also a Nintendo CZcamsr Around The Clock made a video about this here

The Yoshi coins make the coin sound effect from Yoshi island.
The "drugcloud" (in someway) would be a cool introduction for this Yoshi's Island track.

Woah horsie! This is really epic, all the detail! And I love Yoshi's Island, it was a good old game! Yeah, this is definitely gonna be my favourite Mario Kart track of all, I really hope it has the flower rings and the evil flowers and the red coins, that would be awesome sauce! And it has the best theme in yoshi's island, the athletic theme, but it's variated, a Mario Kart version of the Yoshi's Island Athletic Theme, and just when you think that that can't get any better, wait until we hear the music on our final lap! 🤯🥳
I think we might receive 3 more characters besides Birdo in wave 4 one per wave. Please be one of the Kongs. Funky or Diddy

After looking at the course image on Mario Wiki, that red bridge that appears after popping the Winged Cloud seems to be the only way to go through the middle of the Flower Ring because the Flower Ring itself is floating too high to drive through normally and there is no boost pad or ramp leading up to it.
I hope Birdo isn't the only character we see in wave 4. These are the characters I want to see in wave 4:

in every trailer except the NOA one, there's a screen that says wave 4 is 8 track + 1 character, meaning wave 4 will only get one character but waves 5 and 6 will probably get more
With how much people are saying that, I'm starting to believe Nintendo is only saying that because they've only revealed one character
There is screenshots of the flowerring without it's flowers, imagine if they actually hide the flowers throughout the track that you can collect! :D
The fact they crammed so much into a single track based off an existing game really makes me wonder what they could do for a Nintendo kart game.

haven't seen this brought up yet but has anyone else noticed how but yoshi's circuit and sydney sprint both are islands and both share birdo advertisements and now she's coming back and it's yet another island track? it's like they've been planning this for years.
The Birdo banners in Sydney Sprint were from Mario Kart Tour.
Seeing that Yoshi Island track really makes me wish that someday Nintendo makes a 3D Yoshi game. And I don't mean in the style of Woolley World or Crafted World.
This track seems pretty long though it doesn't appear to be a 3 segment track like N64 Rainbow Road or 3DS Rainbow Road

So if they put all the duplicate characters (and not make the character select screen bigger) we can at least have 6 new characters. Putting in a menu for metal & tanooki mario, cat & pink gold peach, dry bowser, dry bones.
I hope they add some classic characters. My hope is for Pauline, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Petey Parahna Plant, and Kamek.
Hoping for costumes as well, but characters are great!

you missed the fact that the birdo egg is coming back, you can see it in the minute 1:46 If you zoom in on the pink birdo, you can see that it has a white object, and there are no other white objects in the game.
I just found this video and even though GameXplain made a video yesterday I put this on Twitter too. I don't remember if I ever played that game but I like Mario and Yoshi stuff and that the track is so much like the game was so I like this track I for sure like it more than #MK8D getting Mario Kart Tour tracks 'even if I like Merry Mountain because I like Christmas and snow' so here's hope I can race on this and on all wave 4 tracks a lot before wave 5 since every time we get more tracks I focus on the newer added tracks instead of the others although sadly lots of times I ain't got a chance to race on all 8 of the wave 3 tracks in the same evening/night. Here's hope we get wave 4 tracks and info of them sooner to now than later. I hope we get a PacMan race track since lots of us including me never got a chance to play the Bandai Namco Mario Kart games I use the PacMan helmet/suit every time but a PacMan track would be better.

red yoshi coins in the yoshi games always spin the opisite way the normal yoshi coins spin which ive noticed when playing yoshi's crafted world so maybe some of the coins in the track will be red yoshi coins?

im gonna check if this is in tour bc litterally almost every new track thats appeared in mario kart 8 deluxe booster course pass has been a tour track without the indication that its a tour track and was most likely leaked before the tour version comes out
Yes this track was leaked a while ago in tour with some track objects like the flower rings and shy guys and the iternal name for it was mobyi (which stands for "mobile yoshi's island"), but it still has yet to come it is probably coming arround easter in the yearly yoshi tour
