I completely agree with the Funky Kong point. I was surprised he wasn't in Mario Kart 8 back on the Wii U, then when the Switch game released and he *still* wasn't there, I knew something was up.
Nintendo's got to redeem themselves by bringing my boy Funky Kong back!
I really hope Petey comes back. He has a big ass head that gets in the way, but I love him. He's one of my favorite characters and with his return in Tour I have higher hopes that he comes into MK8.

I'd argue Petey Piranha is the most likely character for Mario Kart. He has his own track now in Piranha Plant cove.

To be brutally honest, i just dont see ANY Tour characters to be added in the pass JUST because we have Tour tracks doesnt mean Tour characters will be added because when they clarified that RETUNING CHARACTERS will be in the pass, that means characters from Super Mario Kart thru Mario Kart 7 will be added in the pass.
And look i do want characters from Tour to be in the pass but it just cut it.
And besides i still believe we will get JUST 6 returning characters to be in the pass and those characters are:
Diddy Kong
Koopa Paratroopa
Petey Piranha
Funky Kong
Wiggler
Honey Queen
So until the 4th wave comes out so that we will know how many characters will get AFTER Birdo, im will stick with THOSE 6 till then.

I never got the appeal of Funky Kong, I'd rather receive Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong (they make a lot more sense in my opinion).

the evidence for Kamek was in base Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U and it was removed when 8DX released. this doesn't guarantee anything.
But him existing in Tour + being scrapped twice in the past gives him some leverage. And if they do add newcomers to MK8 you're fooling yourself if you dont think that its gonna be Pauline and Kamek lol

I would like to see King K Rool as a Mario Kart Character. I mean when Donkey Kong is part of the Mario Canon than King K Rool must be too. And they put characters in Mario Kart which are not from the Mario Universe.
They should add more characters from larger Mario universe(WarioWare,WarioLand, Yoshis Island, DK Country, Luigis Mansion, Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi RpGs)

Hot Take I donât Think Funky Kong Will get in over Dixie Kong. Even though he is In more games Dixie Would be the logical Choice.
Idk about that, Funky Kong's been extremely popular ever since his debut in MKWii and Nintendo knows that to the point where they even bothered to make him playable in the last DK game. As much as I wouldnt mind Dixie getting in, I think legacy characters might be prioritized. And tbh Pauline and Kamek are the most likely newcomers for obvious reasons.

Now that it is confirmed that 5 more chadacters will return, here are my predictions:
1.- Birdo (Wave 4)
2.- Pauline (Later in wave 4)
3.- Diddy Kong (Wave 5)
4.- Funky Kong (Wave 5)
5.- Kamek (Wave 6)
6.- ROB (Wave 6) (Yes, yes, but let me explain it, ROB is the only not mario universe character in the list. But why do I say this? Becuase last row of characters in Mario kart 8 deluxe is exclusively for not Mario universe characters, and ROB can perfectly fit in this row. So that's why I think ROB will be the last character to be added)
Paratroopa will make it in but like a costume for koopa, also all clones of MKT will make it in but like costumes, becuase nintendo seems to want to give a new hone to mario kart tour
The real question that we should be asking. Is how many characters per wave?
We canât nearly predict whatâs to come onto Mario Kart 8. This is certainly giving me Smash Ultimate fighter prediction vibes as we picture what characters we want or will appear in the game. However, results will be unexpected or in a shock.
2 characters that seem like they shouldâve been in the game already, are Diddy and Pauline if Iâm being honest. Thank God we have Birdo.
This can also happen. Where weâll only have 1 new character for this wave. Then for Wave 5 and 6, we could get 3 characters. Since that would be pretty similar to the DLC back from the original Mario Kart 8.
All we know is. *Returning Characters from the Mario Kart Series will be onto future Waves*
I think Nintendo created the *Best Mario Kart Game*. I literally said when Wave 1 released, If they drop in new characters, This game will be perfect!
