I ended up getting my Z Flip 3 a few days before the release day since I preordered mine. Holy crap, I never thought just pulling out my phone would gather so much attention at work, at the bar, and out in public. It was weird, but I guess it shows that people do think it's a cool concept. Just different from every other standard candy bar phone that's out there.

@@MrChillnaut I would choose Aesthetics over thick battery phone any day, I don't think any of us use the phone like Austin uses like he uses his flip 3 for everything like work, playing games, so, if he can get a day by from that I don't think it will be an issue for me, the most I spend outdoors is like 10 hours, it will go by easily

@@slurples149 I’m not Australian but from what I’ve seen in the news they are only importing the Astra-Zeneca vaccine which everyone is refusing to take, so no one is getting vaccinated and covid is still massive there. They also implement lockdowns as soon as the cases climb at all, so they’re on number 8 now with plans for a ninth.

Fold 3, Flip 3, Razr 5G, and Surface Duo are the only interesting devices currently out there in a sea of slab. When closed, the Flip 3 looks better than the original PlayStation 4. And the OG PS4 design is gorgeous.
LG Wing too and LG V60 with the dual-screen case which has better aspect ratios vs the Duo for watching movies and web browsing.
P.s. Why the hell are you comparing the Z Flip 3 to a PS4?? 😂😂😂
I love the Z Flip 3, and I've been holding off a new phone since the S10 until I found the perfect phone, and the Z Flip is it. It's developed enough and has good specs, pricing is low enough for me to get it at 35 a month for 24 months (Canadian Dollars) which I plan to keep for 2 or more years as long as it works, and the half folded has many uses for me, and since I use my PC a lot my phones stays on my desk and I can quickly check notifications without unlocking, and it just has that novelty on top of its actual use. The compact design also helps, along with the fact that I won't scratch up my screen in my pocket or desk. Finally, the design, it's just nice, and then all the stuff you said.
I actually got a Z Flip 3 on launch mainly due to how much you always liked them. It's been an amazing phone so far and the battery life isn't even as bad as I expected it to be.
Just replying to say I've only had to send it in to have the screen protector replaced (stupid UBreakIFix stores didn't have any protectors in stock) after 10 months. Still going strong and not interested in the Flip 4.

Been watching you since I was 10, this is the first time that you posted a new vid continuously for 3 days ;)
One aspect that I really like is that I usually pay so much attention that nothing is facing my display when i have multiple things in my pocket.
Now I don't really need to worry about it because the screen is always covered.
It sounds so weird, but it is a huge plus for me!
I'm thining of trading my iPhone for a Flip 3... even though I'm a iPhone user since day one. Just because of that
Even when the Flip 3 is closed, it looks like a modern console. But it does smartphone tasks as well. Amazing how far we've come. Foldable displays? Micro-laptops like this? I don't need a mini SNES or PS1.
I have large hands, the z fold feels really well when it's either closed or open. I like that it can replace a note and I'm more than willing to get on board later down the line.
I remember the satisfaction of flipping the razr open to answer calls and the immediate release of anger by folding it aggressively after a heated call during high school. But I think what's going to be a fun tech is a rollable phone/tablet like the rollable tvs that we have now. It would just look like a modern day scroll.
I changed from my Iphone Xs to the Flip 5g on April and I'm absolutely in love with this phone.

I want to point something that really bothers me all around the web, about its durability and the crease problem!! Some users are experiencing a problem where they some how wake uo the next day and the screen is broken!
I really think its up to how you open the phone..
If you put your finger between the display, and push all the way uo to the crease, and after that you open ..... After time I think that everyone will have the same problem IF they open the phone as I described!
The crease is the heart of the flip and in any way DO NOT PUSH WHEN OPENING THE PHONE!
IMAGINE A SCENARIO where you have longer nails.
You put your finger between the screen, you slide all the way up to the crease WITH YOUR NAIL ...and damage is on the way :))
Treat it well, open it by holding the sides and I think you are good to go :)

Having run the Z-Flip for the last year, I adore it, but the nerf to everything else was what broke it. Once it's up to par with the flagships, I'll pay extra for the flip

I feel jealous. The flip 3 was your favorite and the 3rd generation is such an improvement in nearly every category across the board. The main gripe I had with the flip 3 was screen brightness, if there were no clouds in the sky I couldn't see a thing.
I bought an Araree Aero Flex case for my Flip 3. It comes in black. So even if I got a different color, it wouldn't matter any way. The black case would just cover the color. Plus phantom black arrives the earliest.
I loved my Flip 5G, but I'm so glad I upgraded. Every concern (outside of improved battery) was addressed with the Flip 3. I couldn't not be happier.
Z flip is an interesting phone, but the galaxy fold 3 is what I want.

My sister has the new z flip, its nice but I’m getting the z fold 3! Ive been wanting it sense the 1st fold but was waiting for it to be better and my contract ended right as the fold 3 came out! Just waiting for it to be back in stock lol
ive had my zold3 for 4 days now, i love it, i dont understand the zflip though it is a cool piece of tech, i just find the fold better suited to my needs.

I totally agree that it's great to have something exciting going in in phones again. That said, still a gen or two out as a "wise purchase". It's still just "cool". But I agree, the future is gonna flip, but for now, I'll keep my Note 10+.
I originally wanted the cream but the more I look at my phantom black Flip 3, the more I realize I made the perfect choice. The previous Z Flips are fingerprint magnets. Matte black is not. Looks so stealthy.

The issue with all these new "phones" is that the price is too high, they break if you sneeze or fart on it. Sorry, these do not interest me at all. But I do like the review.
That's why you get insurance on it. Keep in mind- for people like me, who are using their phones almost constantly, as our way to communicate and interact with the world- buying a cheap one just seems dumb.
Out of pretty much anything that you could spend $1000 on, spending it on your phone is going to improve your life more than anything else. It's something you're guaranteed to use every single day, for hours. When you put it in that perspective, spending anything less sounds kinda dumb.
If you buy a cheap phone just because you don't think expensive phones are worth it, you're making hours of your everyday life a worse experience for the next few years you own it. Yes, it can "do all the same things," but spending $600 extra is not much at all compared to what you get out of it.
You don't even spend remotely the same amount of time in a car as you do on your phone, so why aren't you desperate to spend as little money on a car as you can? How many people do you think really want to spend $500 instead of $1500 on a used car just because "it still drives me everywhere i need to go"

You can just buy a phone for like 150 to 200 and that would last you about 2 years if you aren't stupid or if you are really smart then like 4 years, also who wants to pay an extra like 300 for phone insurance for a year when you could just buy a new phone if it breaks or get it repaired for cheap and just sell the broken phone for some money, also if your phone costs 1k then the parts will be like 300 to 600 a piece and the insurance is most likely going to have some clause that makes you pay for the repair anyway.
Buying an expensive phone does indeed increase the quality of my life at least as its much more enjoyable to use. I am more productive on it. It is my money making machine as I work online only. I don't even have insurance on it, I've never dropped a phone. I use cases most of the time. I'm typing this on my $2000 Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G that I paid $680 for Used on ebay. Its more than great. And the screen is in perfect condition. No dead pixels. No worse crease. No problems. No bs. It is that flip phone experience that makes the screen bigger, better to multitask. It's just incredible.
@@RedPMD You can still get big phones for cheap, there are phones that are as big if not bigger for like around 150 - 300 range Brand New with pretty similar specs so the size thing isn't really a point, also what do you even mean by working online only? Like the only thing that springs to mind is Ebay selling or Amazon selling or at worst editing Videos on your phone.
samsung is pushing hard on foldables since they know their flagships are loosing to xiaomi's, and their midrage+budget section is significantly worse.
They can push as much as they want.but the portability that the flip creates is god tier

@@dalieur5439 Absolutely. The phone is/feels/looks/works the exact same as it did 7 months ago, I haven't had a single issue with is. And believe it or not, the excitement from answering a call by "flipping" the phone open and "ending" whatever I'm doing by closing the phone is still there just as strong. It just feels so good, the hinge is excellent and idk how to explain it but that sound it makes just make me giggle like a little kid while thinking "man this is so cool" haha. As an enthusiast and tech nerd, I couldn't be happier with it and recommended even more now that I've seen how well it's aged!

Dankpods video about the zflip is my nail in the coffin about these flip phones. It’s a cool concept but the fact that that crease gets unbearably ugly after a few months is so unsustainable. This video feels very simpy, like yeah it’s a cool concept but it’s a bad phone after the honey moon phase, atleast in the pervious versions and just feels weird seeing this amount of enthusiasm without knowing what the screen will look like in a few months.
