Increasing hardware requirement during a massive chip shortage seems massively backward.
There won't be a massive chip shortage in 2025 when Windows 10 is EOL. Windows 10 will still work just fine.

It will work, I was able to run win11 even on my i3 4th gen laptop. It's just MS hasn't validated it.
TPM and Secure Boot can be easily bypassed.
@@wanders278 Yeah, people are over playing this a bit. They aren't being forced to upgrade, and when it finally is a good time to upgrade, they will almost certainly have the hardware required, and it's a free update, which is pretty generous.

I heard in some CZcams video that the TPM requirement is dictated by securing the system boot procedure in such a way that the system was loaded based on the keys stored in tpm by secure boot to prevent the system from loading malware that would try to hide from the anti-virus scanner - for security reasons it is good, but in my case updade do windows 11 is too "much fun", forcing me to replace all my good computers with new ones due to the tpm requirement, which these computers do not have because they are older than 3 years - for me it is absurd to pull on cash to buy a new - meeting the requirements - computer - maybe there is some conspiracy behind it - dill M $ with computer equipment manufacturers to drive them more sales? or something like that ..

I have TPM 2.0 enabled in bios but won’t register or let me update to windows 11 in settings?
I literally got into a heated argument with my fiance's dad about why the iphone 4 doesn't get support anymore and his argument was that the first telephone would still work today. 🤦♂️
I personally dont bother with old people and technology anymore because honestly when I try to explain stuff to them and they are to stubborn to understand and learn I wanna just slap them across the face as hard as I can
So old-fashioned
@@Forest9528 I don't wanna slap him haha but gosh he will be so unaccepting that he may even possibly not understand what he's talking about. I like him though so when he starts acting that way I just let him win.
@@dylanparks2 Yeah I know for sure my parents know absolutely nothing about tech and I dont like to let them just go on thinking they are right so I will literally argue with them for hours and it's so frustrating
I really like these kinds of videos where you guys just talk about stuff in a little podcast-esc room. Hope for more in the future!
so i have a ryzen 5 2600 and tried the win11 preview and it just works perfectly and I love it...
I have windows 11 (official) and I like it, it has a nice start up menu which I like exploring but its not good at gaming they are improving alot there is nicer cleaner audio I have arctis 1 headphones, windows 11 also has a new settings page which makes me fell at home there is support for some android apps like Instagram, ticktock, and may more popular social media apps. Windows 11 has a awesome screen when you put in you password it make your computer look new and cool there is a lot customizing you can do

3:51 it’s more like windows vista because of the high system requirements at the time
im guessing that since tmp hardware is required, cpus would need new assembly instructions that of course supports tmp (I guess the cpu requirements are the cpus with the correct instructions on them already). Now processors without this source code would crash if it tries to run unknown instructions made for tmp when it doesnt have the hardware nor instructions available.
Windows made the update mandatory and now that it's updated I can't access my computer... It says that my account can't be loaded

the true question is who wants that trash windows 11 anyways if i want a tablet os id get an ipad no thank you ms ill stick with 10
@@SimonBauer7 I do. Why is it trash? Because it looks better, cleaner and more modern? If you want something that looks ancient you can go ahead and buy a Windows XP PC.
By using security as a diversion, Microsoft is giving opportunity for hardware companies make money by forcing users to buy new PCs.
"security" in windows has always been a joke anyway so I don't see tpm 2.0 requirement changes anything.
Exactly
That's exactly what I've been saying a way for manufacturers to make more money, also Microsoft threw there licenses to install the OS on those systems
@@albioncia ,
You might have this BACKWARDS... we already know Secure Boot helps prevent malware from getting installed on computers. If Microsoft supports TPM then it will help with security. It will be more secure than Windows 10 for certain things. That doesn't mean Windows is GOOD relatively to some Linux distros, it just means that it should help relative to the current situation.
Apple does the same thing with their Macs and iPhones when it comes to using security as an excuse to intentionally prevent repair in any way possible, forcing users to buy a new one.
Thanks for laying out the pros and cons of opting to upgrade to Windows 11 or simply retaining Windows 10.
Upfront, upgrading to Windows 11 sounds exciting, but the downside, according to you, are pretty risky.
Every upgrade has its kinks. At the moment, I choose to wait it out. I see no harm in keeping Windows 10 for now. Thanks for sharing your reviews on Windows 11.
My personal desktop just reached 10 years old, I don't expect it to run windows 11. However, it would be nice to have.
Im just frustrated about them TPM, a month ago we never even thought about TPM chips not even a specification to look while buying a PC plus 7th gen should be supported
What cpu do you have? Some cpu (including mine) have tpm 2.0 build in
TMP is a major step towards security, yeah it might be frustrating but the end is a happy place.
as @ASx2608 said, check the official specs of your processor chances are your processor has either intel PTT or AMD fTPM. Please note that even if your processor has such feature it must be also supported by the motherboard in order to work…
@@snuc Microsoft has been requiring oems to have tpm 2.0 since like 2016-2017?
If your processor has TPM 2.0 capabilities the board is almost guaranteed to support it.
@@jacoblee9455 But I can’t fully guaranteed that all manufacturers followed that guideline, and I know you can’t either otherwise you would have not used “almost guaranteed”… besides chances are that the feature is set to “Discrete TPM” instead of “Firmware TPM” like in my Asus motherboard. Just telling him go check the processor can lead to “my processor has fTPM but windows won’t recognize it”…
What concerns me the most isn't the inability to upgrade to Windows 11, but the end of Windows 10 support in 2025
so by 2025 we can’t use Windows 10?
@@d1g116 You shouldn't use it to connect online because Microsoft will stop sending security patches
@@jaffar1234 oh ok, lol this sucks
Hopefully I have a job to save for a new pc that can run it cus atm my pc is decent but idk if it could run w11
It will be like using windows 7 right now. You just won’t get anymore security patches.
microsoft : you can't run windows 11
me: watch me
We can bypass that during the iso download..its coplicated but u can use cmd to bypass it
Pc users: Can we install Windows 11
Microsoft: Yes… but no
if you are a Techy, You may be able to jump through hoops to install Win 11 on older systems with using the CMND scripts. But Microsoft may not let you do future updating easily or at all. I am pretty sure Stores will not take older systems and try to update them to Win 11. They will say NO, you need a new computer. Watch allot of older computers try and go on Ebay so they can buy a new computer. "Times they are a Changing" from a famous song.
@@dathyr1 Or you could use linux
@@angelos9800 Thanks, Yes I agree that is an option. I dont know if the STEAM games app/program works in Linux. Plus i have allot of Windows Music DAW,'s apps, software for Windows 10 and my music gear.
@@dathyr1 Honestly I found about linux 3 years ago, it's been 3 uears and all of my games are on steam. most engines now support cross platform building, more games are made for all platforms. Compatibility is suprising now.
