YET ANOTHER UPDATE! Microsoft is now saying even though you can technically install Windows 11 on older CPUs, you might not be able to get any updates, even security updates
Unfortunately Microsoft did not communicate this to the news outlets until well after a bunch of articles and this video were published
A "bait and switch". You can however still manually go out and download the updates off of the windows update server so I guess you can still get "updates" but without a 3rd party tool most people won't be doing it.
@@warthunder1969 yeah
Maybe the year of the Linux desktop isn't dead...

I have installed win 11 on my laptop with i5 4th gen cpu without tpm and the update page says I won't be receiving any updates after official release. However I am getting beta updates.
That's good and all. But I'll stick with Windows 10 for the moment.

@@CyberGamingStudiosOfficial uhhh, some people are still using Windows 7 still.
Also you realize Windows 11 isn’t that good for some games.

Well I'll just try this on a virtual machine.

Virtual machine always works i have already tried that. its not the same as installing windows on a non virtual pc system.
@@metalvideos1961 I normally test systems and some things I program on a virtual machine. So that I don't damage my main system. Like for example, I've programmed something in Python that would set a syskey on a scammer's computer (I made it into a portable executable, so that I don't have to worry about it not executing on the scammers computer, and not having Python installed). A Windows 7 computer to be exact, because scammers still use Windows 7. Which when it sets the syskey on the Scammers computer, it will raise the system volume to 100%, and play a alarm audio file so loud that it would scare every scammer in the call center. And hopefully get the scammer fired.

If it still requires a TPM, then I literally cannot install this new version without going out and purchasing a new laptop, even though my current one is working perfectly fine. Not going to waste my money and add to e-waste just because Redmond wants me to.
My main computer has no way to have a TPM as well. I'm in same boat. It's still good, so it's not reasonable to buy a new computer nor tossing out for e-waste. Unless Microsoft remove the TPM requirement, I'm moving to Linux when Windows 10 ends. Besides, Windows 11 looks like a total downgrade from Windows 10.
If you do want to upgrade and you do buy a new device. Use the old pc as a lunix or backup. Just so that laptop becomes fully useless or gets thrown in the trash. I do think it will still need tpm but that is my thoughts

Yup
I will wait until I get a new machine. Why fix (upgrade) something that isn't broken?
I'm waiting until M$ stops releasing updates for Windows 10 - even though Windows 11 will install and run on my 1 year old PC.
The CPU generation is not entirely true. Kaby Lake and up supports MBEC, yet 7th generation consumer processors are not supported except for one chip added recently. (Edit: Hexality pointed out that many HEDT Kabylake X series processors are supported) And it's not just Zen2 chips on the list (which supports GMET, AMD's equivalent of MBEC), but also APUs that are Zen+ which do not support GMET. So, MBEC and GMET is not the only reason why.
Supported Kaby-Lake processors:

More like that they are launching something that doesn't want people to be poking into, maybe a serious backdoor to steal data for US spy agency.
Microsoft thinks of themselves as so superior in the computer world that they have no obligation to explain to us lowly peasants why they are doing something. We are just supposed to say, "Yes, All Knowledgeable Ones" and follow their directives without question.
They don’t explain everything because the more they say the more controversy happens because of clashing opinions and philosophies with the customers (or because it's something they shouldn't say at all costs). That’s why many companies stay silent instead of explaining everything they do
To be fair if this wasn't a free update no one would be complaining about 11.
@@mrankin2825 That makes absolutely no sense. If the upgrade actually costed current windows end users some real money to buy it ( in addition to the fact that microshit keeps making money off of the data they illegally mine from their end users and NEVER give them a cut of the sales), they'd DEFINITELY be bitching more loudly. Get real
@@motoryzenyou're making a lot of wild accusations. What proof is there that Microsoft has illegally mining uses Data. And I stand by what I said if users had to pay for Windows 11 they would have no problem sticking with 10.✌️

Loving the content btw!
With what you said in the video, can Windows 11 be installed on a Windows 7 computer?
I have the same motherboard and cpu chip that you have. is the tpm in the chip (turned on on the board or did you add a chip to the motherboard)? thanks
I have TPM and secure boot but still can't get it installed 🥺
Technically speaking, they would allow users to install, but won't actually provide "official support". If a user experiences performance issues while using Win 11 on an unlisted CPU and write something on places like Microsoft Community, moderators and independent advisors will probably just slap a reply with the list of supported CPU and ask the user to rollback to Win 10. They will not care.
Trust me, there are many non-tech savvies made crazy changes to their systems and complaints about terrible system performance or stability issues.
I have a 7th gen intel cpu and it's the only thing keeping me from upgrading. I pass all the checks, but the cpu. Interestingly enough, some surface devices have 7th gen cpus and MS made them compatible with W11 and my system is still "unsupported".
Just buy a newer PC. PC's are so cheap these days. You can buy a very good mini PC for less than $300. The virtualization-based security feature of Win-11 alone is well worth a price of a new PC.
So if you have to manually install win11 how will auto system updates work later on when there is a major update.?
what do you use for the animated background in your desktop?
And here's me who just installed windows 10 and was using win 7 ultimate for soo many years just because I loved it more than 8 and 10.
You can actually just swap out a few files from the iso for windows 11 with ones from win 10 to bypass the requirements.
Just a question

My issue is the TPM requirement. My motherboard supports a TPM module, but didn't come with one and the compatible module is unavailable.
