    To be in with a chance of winning, I would like you to write a woodworking related Haiku. A Haiku is a short poem usually following a 5, 7, 5 syllable pattern. So first line is 5 syllables, second 7 etc. Plenty of examples online.
    Here is an example I wrote:
    An old slab of wood
    Sawn, planed, hewn, reimagined
    an old slab made good
    I'm sure you can do better than that! Make it funny, beautiful, unforgivably rubbish, whatever. I've no criteria for picking the winner. Just whatever catches my eye. Give it a go. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Good luck!

    DON'T write your Haiku entries below in the CZcams comments!
    Prizes from this video will be the Hongdui aluminium linear bench clamp and the Ganwei Aluminium Hold Down Clamp. A combined prize, winner takes all.
    Open to UK Mainland residents only.
    Closing date for the giveaway is 5th November, 2021. Winner announced on Instagram on the 6th November, 2021.

    Here long after the party - but I've had and used the hold downs for a few months now and I find myself reaching for them almost daily, holding down dovetailjigs, materials etc. I don't do any hand planing though, but I keep using them constantly. Turned out to be significantly more handy then I first thought.

      Cheers Christian. Good to hear. These Veiko ones were particularly nice. I have much older ones (which I also show) that have proved useful hold downs for all manner of things really. From my sliding carriage to various jigs. I just swap out the fixings for what will work. 👍

    Hi Stuart. Great reviews as always. Thanks for posting. Can’t find that T square on the BG site though. Do they call it something different? Cheers, S

      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety

      Thanks mate. Yes, they call them a "T-ruler". Also, if you just search Veiko you'll find it too. Here's a link to it for you though - uk.banggood.com/custlink/3DGRgwy1zt
      I should have my review of the Veiko items up this Sunday hopefully. Spoiler - I was quite impressed with the Veiko T-Square. Appears perfectly machined. Really good value at the moment as they're on offer too!

    Great review, if possible try to do something about light settings. Sound is good and everything else.

      Cheers mate. I have been giving lighting some thought. For my own work needs, let alone for YT. My options are limited though. It's a rented space I'm allowed to do very little with/to. No space for extra stand mount lights either. I'll figure something out.👍

      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety

      Ah, Dennis. Thank you. Yes, very professional productions. It's a hard clamp to fault really, especially for the price. If I wasn't already up to my ears in kit (perk and curse of CZcams!) I'd keep it. Will be a good prize for someone though.👍

    The hold down clamps look very interesting, but probably more for a traditional bench than an MFT style bench I think.
    There are several options for a one handed hold down clamp but none look to be as good value for money as these ones from Banggood.

    • @BischBaschBosch
      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety

      They're a decent, well made hold down no doubt. Certainly suited to more traditional workbenches. They do come in a 19mm 3/4" version too - the more traditional hole size. One thing I should have mentioned in hindsight is that the stem is grub screwed in place. So it's possible to fit a longer length, smooth stem if you had some 20mm (or 19mm if applicable) bar.

    I've bought a few of those hold down clamps, the red ones with a name beginning with V......lol. I really like them and they're less than half the price of the ones sold here in the UK!

    • @BischBaschBosch
      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety +1

      Veiko..😁👍 Yeah, they've got a good heft to them. I like 'em. Better than the ones I bought from banggood a couple years ago in fact. I'll be looking at the Veiko stuff in the next vid (part 2). Cheers Rich.

    Dennis is hooked on woods presenter. Decent channel.
    Is the linear clamp any better if you plane towards it by any chance?
    Those pop up dogs seem really handy.

    • @BischBaschBosch
      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Roger. Yeah, someone else has cleared the chaps name up for me too. Great quality productions. Unfortunately, planing toward the Hongdui linear clamp also causes vibration. If I were to keep it, I'd drill and tap the dog for a male star knob. This simple fix would make it a thoroughly decent clamp. Giving it away as a prize though. Competition open until Friday Nov 5tb if you're on Insta and fancy a go.😁👍

    I really like the Festool copy clamps you showed again here. Work really well, however I can’t get under my bench top to screw them down so do have there limitations. For the money can’t argue.
    Poetry and instagram to much for me….. more the latter, but nice gesture mate 👍🏻

      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety

      Cheers Doug. Yeah, they're a daily use clamp for me. Love 'em. Better with the knobs underneath though. Shame you can't do that. Instagram let's me swap details with a winner discretely so needs must really. Thought the haiku/poem would be a laugh. Couldn't be any worse than my attempt😂

    • @BischBaschBosch
      @BischBaschBosch  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Henning. In fairness, from the items shown in this video at least, the Hondui linear clamp and the Ganwei hold down clamp are original designs. The Hongdui is similar to a Kreg and the Ganwei similar to the new Festool but, these ones from banggood are different and not plastic rubbish like the Kreg and Festool. The Ganwei hold down was released 6 months before the Festool too. The Ganwei pop up dogs are also an original design, though not the only pop up on the market. The guide rail clamps are a Bessey design. Every similar one, whichever brand, is a copy of the Bessey originals, made under licence or just ripped off. 🤷‍♂️👍
