- Canadian actor Hayden Christensen opened up about playing Darth Vader - and Anakin Skywalker - for the first time in over a decade in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Christensen, who is from Vancouver, and has a farm in southern Ontario, spoke to Narcity's Josh Elliott about what it was like reuniting with Ewan MacGregor and his hopes for the future of Star Wars.

I can't believe Hayden received so much hate for playing Anakin in the prequels. He is perfect for the role as Anakin/Darth Vader - I literally couldn't imagine Anakin being anyone else. You can see how much he truly loves Star Wars and now he's finally getting the love and appreciation he deserves.
So glad someone finally mentioned natalie / padme, i really wish she was part of a flashback. But despite that it was still so epic and so glad he came back!
Still a chance if they get her for a Vader series. She can easily be used in flashbacks or nightmare sequences
He's such a cool and down to earth guy, he didn't deserve the critics of 17 years ago, I always loved the prequels, mainly because of my age, of course if you watch a children's film in your 40's you won't appreciate it.

He stole the show in this series. Hayden acting under good directors is a force to be reckoned with. Can't imagine how good it would be to see him act under a Fincher or Scorese he's so good

I Really feel Hayden got too much undeserved hate for the prequels because of the silly dialogue, but nowadays we really appreciate the prequels, and Hayden deserves more respect. He really does care about the character, and i feel with episode 6 in particular he has redeemed himself.

Agreed. The amount of proper acting he has to do in this series is pretty limited, yet he's been front and centre of the promotion tour. Lucasfilm have do live-action Clone Wars, they could really utilise him there.

Such a good actor whos make or break moment was ruined by cringe dialogues
They fucked up. Obi-Wan isn't/was never supposed to be able to match and overcome Vader.
Vader is still the chosen one and the only people who should match him are Sidious/Yoda level force users or people with the potential to be even greater, Luke/Leia level.
Obi-wan should struggle against him, barely dodging and surviving Vader's furious attacks and MAYBE gain an advantage/opportunity to counter-attack if Vader gets too aggressive.
Obi-Wan's defensive style was perfect against Anakin's offensive style, but Vader is just a different beast... Obi-Wan can't win...
He’s the chosen one in ROTS as well AND a certified better dueller lol it’s his emotions that make him lose, that’s the whole point and what they referenced heavily in the episode prior
He was angry and uncontrolled. He was sloppy during the fight. Obi wan sees that and uses it. Vader emotions in his downfall
Funny cause in another video other fans were arguing how Obi-wan should be so much more powerful against Obi-Wan and said Vader didn't really have a chance. Just proved how differently the fans interpret the lore and how hard it is to make everyone happy

Yes like the other comments said his emotion lost him this duel. Which is why he promised Palpatine afterwards that he will control his emotion when Palpatine doubted him, ultimately giving him the victory against Obi Wan in episode IV
