I was at the Newark show also, and my god what a masterclass of a performance. Every detail and facet was just a 10 from the musicianship to the sound mix to the lighting/projections to the performance to the everything. And they are all in the lates 50 and 60s! Unbelievable.

I was also at the Newark show. My 26th TOOL show and my daughter's 8th.
They are getting better as time goes on.
Danny is so precise. No wasted movement.
Adam's mastery of feedback is incredible.
Maynard's voice sounds so much healthier now than even 10 years ago.
Justin, as always, was the low-key star.

Great to hear from your brother Doug, unfortunately, mine has just died. I'll miss the conversations we once had - he was a smashing guitarist and loved rock and roll. I'm nearly 70 and my ears have just recently woken up to Tool, I also now live in a retirement block and I'm very tempted to play them at full blast. Am I going to get a load of noise complaints or will they, like me, all start grooving? I'll let you know :) All the best from Devon, England.

I am fortunate to see TOOL twice. 2017 in Bangor, ME and 2019 in Boston, MA. The Fear Inoculum concert was otherworldly. This is a special band...their music is unlike anything else. FI is meant to be listened to with a good stereo system at comfortably loud volume with big glass of wine and some smoke. Relax, settle into it and be transported to another place in another time. FI is a complex, multiple layered masterpiece where more of the music is revealed the more you listen to it.

Maynard, from Tool, stands at the back of the stage to focus more on his singing and less on entertaining the audience visually. But also because he is an introvert. In addition, at the back of the stage, his microphone receives less noise from the stage equipment so he feels the overall sound is better.

I had a similar but more intense experience with Autechre. Not the same kind of music for sure. Reverend Maynard would approve of all the church allegory in this lol.
Also saw Philly, Elmont and Newark this tour, then flew out to visit the store in Jerome. Friend and I had a Maynardcation. Newark was a great show. We were by the sound booth and they were drinking wine. We wondered if it was Maynard supplied >< we couldn't see the labels on the bottles well enough. They played Sober in Elmont. Philly we had 2 row center stage. Was right in front of Maynard's stare for CV. So many good memories around shows. Sorry yours didn't work out with your brother the way you planned but I'm sure if you haven't already, you'll make it happen. Glad you had a great experience in the end.

Almost all their concert tees say Los Angeles on the sleeve! They did during the 2019 leg of the Fear Innoculum tour as well!

I missed my Orlando show because I just felt bad, unable to leave the house. Broke my heart and lost my cash.

This was really fun to watch. Tool is one of my favorite bands although they’ve never played in my country so I haven’t seen them yet. I absolutely will at some point though.

A Perfect Circle concert was even stranger. I saw them before seeing TOOL this last time. They enforced the no phone/light rule completely at that show. The venue stayed dark the whole time. What they did was have lights come from underneath the band members and you saw like a shadow of them. Maynard was again in the back. It was the strangest yet one of the coolest concerts I've ever seen. TOOL was the last concert I saw before all the shutdowns. I see that Pusifer is coming this summer so looking forward to seeing them for the first time as well.
