kids often have flippant thoughts of "i want to be a different colour" because they're curious to know what it's like. as a kid i sometimes wanted to be white and have blonde hair because that's what my best friend looked like. but this is on another level. this can't just be the kid's idea, and i know that's obvious already but i just wanna say for the record that being curious about other skin tones/hair types/face shapes isn't a problem when a kid is still learning, but committing to changing that about yourself is when it becomes a problem, especially if the parent is encouraging it

I will say tho Emmerald was on this episode and she genuinely loved pageants, both her and her mum were so nice to watch! You could tell the mum didn’t force the child, she never went full glitz cos she liked her daughters natural beauty and Emmerald literally walked on the stage with so much joy.
