Great video. Planning on buying in 6 weeks and love your knowledge
Excellent tutorial! Easy to follow, light-hearted but not frivolous.
I just finished doing the break-in service on my new Hunter 350, and it was a good time to do the clutch freeplay as well.
Thanks!
Enjoyed the vid, very helpful. Thank you and keep 'em coming!
Thanks Mark
Excellent video! I found it interesting that RE measures the freeplay at the end of the lever. Most bikes I’ve had measure the gap near the pivot point, but the Meteor has cleverly covered that area. I like how they are still coming up with new ideas for ancient technology.
6:43 And excellent video on adjusting the clutch free play, Sir. Regards from across the pond!
Super helpful indeed! 👍😎👍
Great video again Jeff, clearly explained as always. By the way, the wee feller rode across my screen at 5.55pm tonight.
Thanks Martin!!!
Thanks!
Thank you sir
Great video.
6:43 Thanks for the chance!
Thanks alot helped me....!!
Thanks for information.
Thanks for a very informative video - its a summer job for me though! 🙂
Thank you
Thanks
Enjoyed the adjustment work. Seems technical for me.
The Wee Ronin, went by At 6:44.
Love to wear a tee shirt here in Scotland.
Cheers.
Thanks.
Wow thats really simple and easy... i am going to try this on my classic reborn as the clutch feels like its near around 30 MM.
I saw Lil' Ronin @ 6.43 into the video. Stay safe and keep the rubber on the road!
send me an email and entered
Very clear explanations for the clutch adjustment. Will you show also the brake lever adjustment ? As I said already in the livestream I am so pleased to have won this week t-shirt contest.
in the queue Dona, and you're extremely welcome
Great description. Would this apply to the Interceptor 650? Thanks
Good video sir,,nice lesson for biker how to adjust the clutch,,I’m new subscriber …
Thank you and welcome Roderick
Lil Ronin …. 6:44. Great video
A great video👍 can i ask maybe a stupid question but I assume this would be the same on the 650 Super meteor?
thanks
I appreciate the tutorial friend but have you got an idea how to do this if the lever’s been replaced?
Nice. I can probably use the exact same approach for Classic 350, right?
RIP Ol' Man Ronin.
At this rate you'll need to divide your garage up. One side Harley and the other Royal Enfield 😂 such a horrible problem to have.
Oh, I like the the Enfield's have center stands. I didn't notice it on this one before. I hated that most bikes don't have them anymore.
Anyway, happy weekend to you and 6:49 ☺️
LOL except for the Dyna on the Lift it already is lol
Thanks for a great video. Any chance of doing something similar for the chain adjustment. The RE channels video is appalling and I don’t have the time or the money to take my meteor to a dealership to do something that should be SO SIMPLE!!
chain in the que my friend
Always enjoy your videos.just dropped my meteor off yesterday for initial 350 mile service in columbus.you like classic bikes you should check this place out.2stroke kaw tripple, beezers, bonnies, old ujm’s and a sturgis for sale.like going to a museum that sells enfields.would be great if you could talk mid ohio into lending you an intercepter with s&s pipes.they sound sweet.
I have a video in my Catalog about them. Check it out
Just watched that.should’ve looked first.that blue beezer is still there as well as the 900 kaw.
@@gregdavis4167 its definitely a cool place Dylan, Nicole and Ken do a great job. They used to have my stickers to hand out. Ask them for one or if they're out?
Good morning Jeff, Excellent vid here and the previous TCLOCS one as well. I'd like to add something to cable maintenance on the RE's if I may. Thoroughly lube the clutch and throttle cable(s). I didn't the first year on the throttle cables for the INT 650 and they rusted terribly during winter storage. Luckily I was at home when the push cable snapped requiring replacements from Hitchcock's. First thing I did on the Meteor was soak the cables.
Great Point.
6.43 was when little Ronin went by
seen the little guy at 2pm est sunday
With a new bike or an old bike with new clutches there will be wear in the first 1000 miles. After that, they don't seem to wear near as fast. Same way with the valve lash adjustment. The first 1000 miles the valves will seat themselves in and after that they won't need adjusted very often. This is not a Royal Enfield thing, this is just mechanics of any machine.
Do you prefer the meteor with a windshield or not?
Have you done valve adjustment on your Meteor? Also which oil do you use?, I'm new in this world and have no idea which is the best for air cooled engines.
Not yet!
Hey Ronin! The little rubber bit at the lever end of my cable ripped. (Little rubber nipple right before the actual cable part)
Is this an issue? The cable moves a little more inside the adjustment nut, but I'm not sure if its a problem.
just make sure you clean and lube it extra now to keep dust and dirt from making it sticky
@@OlManRonin thank you for the reply, sounds good!
Even with this bike not being so new anymore, it's crazy how little content their is about it!
Besides your videos, there's only first ride reviews. So thank you for all the meteor content :)
I know checking the clutch cable free play is a maintenance item but I've never had a bike the required adjustment more often the every 3000 - 5000 miles. Do RE's really require adjustment every 500 miles?
Only the first few times. My himmi stretched a lot in the first 800 miles, hasn't moved since.
Other than initial stretch I wouldn't be surprised if its just that there is more clutch use and wear in Indian traffic. They possibly do need it that frequent in the home market, but we don't.
the manual says to check clutch free play every 600 miles or 1000 km
@@mattyb7736 Thanks matty - what I would expect but I wanted confirmation due to the past reputation of the Bullets!
@@seankearney6915 Thanks Sean, makes sense...
And why would we need to do this allot?
I have 2000km on my Meteor and have not checked it yet.
I will now.
Just wondering why that free play would change at all so quick?
According to Royal Enfield Meteor 350 owners manual? It is suggested to check your free play every 1000km or 600 miles, I wanted to show my audience the proper way to adjust it if its out of adjustment. If you haven't checked it, its wise you should. There is a periodical maintenance chart in your Owners Manual. Also, doing a TCLOCS before trips similar to what professional truck drivers do each and every day ... well they are supposed to. lol As far as it coming out of adjustment, mine didn't, I just gave it play in order to make the video.
@@OlManRonin thx i will check
6:43
You're missing the bigger issue. You have been overworking your clutch and have stretched the cable.
You're supposed to stay in top gear and cruise, not cogg swap all the time hehe. Sorry, just had to wind you up.
As always a very useful video for maintenance . I wish the himmi had a fine adjustment at the bar end.
email me your address Matty.
@@OlManRonin yes sir, done it.
Disaster FFS no wonder no one takes real shit seriously anymore. Otherwise great video.
Made in india 🤗

Disaster🤔 why🤨
Isn't this an exact replication of Royal Enfields video?
