I was born in California, lived most of my life in California, and about 2 years ago, I moved OUT of California to a better run state. California used to be a nice state, BUT once the Democrats took majority control of the state, California has been going downhill ever since. California is the poster child for why you should not let Democrats have majority control of your state. On the other hand, if you love high taxes, less freedom, job killing regulations, and massive government control over your life, you'll love California.

Cali was great when governed statewide by the GOP. I've been there to the once Golden State about 10 times, and lived there in 1970. Each time I went back to visit,it looked like it was getting worse. We all know what caused the downward trend, socialist running the government. The Hollywood crowd jumped on board because they thought it was the thing to do at the time, and excellerated the process. Now the phony elites are leaving the utopia they created, like pissants packing sugar. They used to make fun of flyover country, now they are moving there.

I got a REAL BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS MEETING.
My state is a disaster. The laws here suck. I can't get a tutoring job online to use my post graduate education because of our stupid contractor laws that deter companies from hiring from California. Jobs are leaving the state and the homeless issue has gotten insane even in areas that never used to have a problem. People my age who are hard working are fed up with this disgusting state and corruption. I am only here because of aged family members I take care of otherwise I'd take my family and leave.

I was Born and Raised in a Small town just north of San Diego. But couldn't take it anymore, Taxes,Cost of living, rude people who only cared about themselves, Schools failing ,Law enforcement failing, Homeless being able to live in their cars directly in front of your home. and the reasons go on and on. I pulled the Trigger we sold our houses. My father and myself and never looked back. I have kids and family members from both sides still living in California. That SF business owner nailed it. It might not have been known before but we know it now: the leaders are capable of doing this, they had decided that we were not important enough for it to happen.
Speaking with my friend who left California but still has a home there and is getting ready to sell it the amount of different taxes unique to that drowning state is mind boggling. Why anyone would deal with that is beyond me. If you plan to leave they plan to make it painful to your pocketbook.

3 years ago I visited your city it was a trip to see the Rolling stones for my birthday. We left there and went suburbs to an air BNB. as the homeless drug attics were everywhere sleeping mid day while we waiting in line to take a trolley . People passed out on the street at night with needles in their arms it was unbelievable that they allow this to go on. It sickens me to think they only hide it for foreign visitors but do nothing to help the business and residents that are losing businesses and homes due their continued failure of policy in their government
They might have cleaned up the garbage but unless they’ve made the people who choose to live that way “disappear,” it won’t take long for the trash to start reappearing. Have to watch and see.😳

I was in USAF stationed at Hamilton AFB across the bay from Frisco in the early 60s and the city was nothing like this. You could actually walk on the streets without stepping on a "homeless person". This is what 60 years of liberal democrat rule gets you.
What did they do with all the homeless? If they cleaned up a small part of the city and just moved these people somewhere else for this event then they will come back once it’s done and the mess will return with them.
California is one of the most beautiful places in the country. It's sad to see what has happened to it because of the D's. Yes, we know you Californians are running from it, but leave you insane policies behind when you do. You should just stay and fix it. It's bleeding out.

My Canadian city had slowly deteriorated into a dung heap. The Chief of Police has advised citizens to avoid our downtown area, which was once the center of department stores & movie theaters, etc. When I was 15, 50 years ago, I spent the whole summer in The Bay Area. San Francisco was so pretty & awesome, but now I see in the American news how literally rotten it is now 😢😢
I remember many years ago when California was viewed as a kind of paradise of progress, wealth, advanced ideas and way of live, and wonderfull nature; the actual "golden state". Now it is one of the last places in the world which I would like to go. Thank you, "democrats".

The truth is SO obvious and 'in your face;' it's amazing people are still doing little more than complaining about it, as if they're just figuring out these things.
The only thing keeping my parents and I in the sh/thole of a state is that my parents are too old and need medical attention. If it weren't for this, I would never look at California again. The weather and land are great, but the fact that it has turned into Mexico 2.0 is very bad.
