One of the first youtube channels I watched on jumping rope. Now I can call my self semi-pro at jump roping. Cross overs, Mike Tyson squat, side swings, boxer step, High knees, running, crossovers whilst running, cross overs w/ boxer steps. Just keep watching these guys and a few other CZcamsrs like RushAthletics and trust me, within a month a two, you'll look like a ninja.

Thanks for all of your jump rope tutorials! Used to jump rope a lot as a kid but it isn't so easy coming back to as an adult, a lot of has been forgotten and maybe (just maybe) I ain't as fit as I was as a kid. Great tips, specially with how to choose the rope.

I started learning to jump rope since I've been stuck at home with no gym. Absolutely feel in love with it. I bought a cheap jump rope from amazon but didn't realize there was a thinner one that can go faster. Those tricks are awesome. I wanna really have fun with this and burn fat like crazy in the process
Same man, quarantine had me bored so I just started doing all the shit I hated in middle school gym lol. Ending up falling in love with working out and especially jump roping :)

When he said it needs to be a steel cable rope i just imagined my toe nails broken and bleeding do they make speed ropes with something like feathers why does it always have 2 fucking hurt

Why would they get hit? you should be wearing shoes to cover your feet and the hands should never be hit by the rope anyway.
Also, if your rope is the proper length your head shouldn't be hit either.

I feel the need to mention (If you didnt in another video), If you're starting out, ankle support is ESSENTIAL. Especially if you have flat feet. Get some good tough runners, or get some other ankle support. Im in Mixed Martial Arts. When I started training, I had to get physio therapy because of terrible shin splints due to my ankles rolling to the inside every time I landed. Great video @zendudefitness I enjoyed it.

Yes it’s working your cavs
Start doing 50-100 skips at a time. It you are overweight, just do fifty x 10 rounds with 15 seconds break in between. Rest five minutes then do it again, but if your legs hurt, then stop there and always have 2-3 days break in between if you are starting out. Make sure your feet do not angle back to your calf when jumping. That is wrong. Straight up and down. Stay on the same numbers for a month, then change up. Take a look at a beginners jump tutorial. I am waiting for a hip operation and I do thousands each session 2-3 times a week. I intersperse my jumping with other body exercises. Change it up. Have fun.
Stretching before and during makes tremendously lowers the pain, look up stretches for running that'll do just fine

Hi Zen Dude..i wanna ask i had a knee injury last year from playing basketball..and a year later now. still cant do a 100% full confident jump..because i afraid my knee couldnt hold it..
so my question is i know Skipping is good..but will it improve my knee or will it Damage my knee?
im not an expert but i think can cause a damage if its too early, you should start first climbing stairs and stuffs like that. first slow than faster so later you can do Skipping

hey do we need to put some gym mats to jump on floor or its okay without it !! and any legs free weight exercises to strengthen our legs to jump for longer period
Dont need mats but it will help to save your legs if you are a beginner. And try some of our workouts that include some bodyweight legs exercises like squats and lunges!
great video it was just what I was looking for to help me improve my jump rope only been doing jump rope for 3 weeks now at first I had people coming over to me thinking I was having a fit attack that's how bad I was at at first lol still struggling with the double unders but I am 45 years old so must be an age thing. now doing 16 minutes that is one minute continuous with 30 second break in between I found that has worked for me so far and I must admit help me with my martial arts training I need all the help I can get at my age has the kids are kicking my ass. been using a wired rope but it's probably a bit too fast for me what would you recommend was thinking of going for slightly thicker rope.

Boxers don't always have great physics. I'm a huge boxing enthusiast and the more I watch the more I realize that the Mayweather or Timothy Bradley kind of bodies are really an exception to the sport. Often times you get these knock out artists like GGG or Pacquiao who look either malnutritioned or soft around the waste and yet they are pure muscle and discipline.
I'm not a huge UFC guy but I noticed that a lot of them seem to have a more commonly desired look when it comes to physic. The defined core and all that. I wonder why that is. I would say a guy like Nate Diaz is shaped more like a traditional boxer. I love these videos btw. My wife was blown away at how much fat I burned in 2 weeks from your video tutorials. She's gonna start jump roping too (she use to when she competed professionally as a skater).

What can I do to prevent shin splints, and cramps in my legs/feet? I can see you're jumping on concrete, which I heard is quite heavy on the joints.
Any surface will be heavy on the joints unless you practice proper form (don't jump more than 2 inches off the ground). As far as prevention, unfortunately shin splints are common when starting out jumping rope. Try doing only 2-3 workouts on this channel per week before moving up to 4-5!
