On the website the only black rope I see is the 1 pound one, but the one your using seems smaller then the 1/4 pound one or similar to the 1/4 pound, can’t find any black rope on the website besides the 1 pound one, please help!
Look it you
Thank you so much for your video. I also started my jump rope challenge in Helsinki, please check it out here czcams.com/video/xBRX_s8mS14/video.html
Nice video, I have shared TOP 5 benefits of skipping rope and workout tutorial in my recent video, feel free to check it here czcams.com/video/yH5Np1-i22g/video.html
I got my first rope ever 4 days ago and i stopped tripping this morning. It was the best morning i had in a while
niceeeeee!
Good job buddy!
It's been 8 months, any improvements? ;)
I did about 30 or so jumps before tripping last night....and it was my 2nd day of jumping rope!!
I know it's late but am still gonna comment
It's my second day and I made it to 15 without tripping.
1. Keep rope low (at hip height)
2. Keep rope tight (use wrists, not entire arm)
3. Warm up muscles and joints before starting to jump rope
4. Focus on the standard bounce before moving onto tricks
5. Find your rhythm (use music or count cadence)
For me, the problem was that i was hitting the back of my neck. I recorded a video of myself and i saw that i was having my hands too low, then i moved them near the waistline and it got fixed in no time. 3rd day of learning how to jump rope and today got like 10-14 skips at once :D
@@soulgameyt769 Your rope is too short, or your reach is too long.
@@racexine It may be. It also may be my teqnique, 5th day and i'm seeing drastic improvements and i hit my head very rarely.
Also i need a proper jump rope cause the one i have rn is kinda weird.
@@soulgameyt769 lol man just finished my second day. Yeah i was hitting the back of my head quiet a lot, ima try keep it at waistline but its inspiring to hear your improvement. Longest streak i have had is like 6 in a row
Imagine driving down that road and a half naked guy with skipping ropes starts dancing menacingly
My cable rope makes me pay when I mess up.... mostly slaps to the ass.
They all do! More motivation right??
It made me.realise it.s not a good idea to do this while wearing shorts, it can be painful
I'd take a slap to the ass than one to my head anyday.
Justin Hester i get to the nevk
Hahaha mine too O.o
Dang. Jump rope was my warm up!...Now i have to warm up for the warm up
yea for me too that's why I watched this video so I could do it properly XD
It is very important. I have busted my calf muscle and now I haven't jumped for 3 days and it is still paining. I did 25 minutes and I did 300 jumps. Everything was ok till the next day when I got up and my legs were giving up on me. I have to use the knee sleeves to go to work.
@@daniellantos26 take care mate
Me too, all this while I thought jump rope is a warm up exercise, I used to do it for warm up before I run, now I found out I have to do other form of warm up before I jump rope for warm up....🤔😏
Also dont forget to warm up for the warm up warm up
Mother of God, I never realized I subconsciously kept pulling my hands up. No wonder I end up tripping when I try to go fast. Thanks a ton for pointing this out. 👍🏻
Abhimanyu Chatterjee - small changes = big differences!
This was a hard one for me too. Also, if you have a muscular imbalance in your body, like most of us do, you don't turn the rope with equal force or velocity on both sides.
My left is weaker. I don't have that level of fine muscle control so my right hand does most of the work and that causes the rope to hit my left leg.
Still working on strengthening the fine muscles in the left hand/arm and seeing improvement.
Using a heavier rope has also helped.
@@mosiarmstrong ok
My issue was my hands were too far forward.
No shit. I just realized too!! Thank you!
This guy explained it better than anybody I've seen so far. It's all in the wrists. Got it now!
yes, im working on it 😥
Bruh just started today skiping rope, the most skips I did was like 20 without tripping, I guess tomorrow will be better
How's it going
Did you stay with it?
@@sidneygaylord477 nope
Can anyone tell me why my legs(below the knees) move backwards while jumping?
I just can't jump up while doing jump rope, always my legs move backwards
Jump on your toes and don't use knees otherwise movement will be irregular.@@kriswayne7938
Ahhh, now I know why I trip up so much. Thanks for the tips. Makes sense too. I love jumping rope and I'm past 60 anyway. It's a good workout but I need to do my warmups first. The 10, 10, 10 rule is what I found most insightful. Keep jumping....
michael that is awesome man! glad this was helpful , you should post a video of yourself if our free facebook group! it would encourage others your age to know that they can do it too!
Google knew I was tripping up and served me this video. Thanks Jump Rope Dudes
I guess my phone overheard my swearing and decided it was enough 😂
you keepin tripin with the rope because you are overthinking... just feel the rythm and Do The Thing!!
thats right :)
Adit Straiff exactly!
I can’t!! 🙈😰🤧
Still some directions would be nice
Yup, close your eyes and let it flow
Much needed info! I legit thought I had to keep my wrists higher and was getting frustrated when I'd trip on my rope after 30 seconds. You guys are the best thanks!!
DysenteryJermy - just keep practicing!
Great video! I start tripping because of reason #1, every time I start getting fatigued I subconsciously pull my arms upward! Now that I recognize it I will shut it down!
shut it down girl!
This is soooo useful. Been jump roping for months with these errors. None of my trainers have ever given me any tips to prevent these issues! Thanks so much 👍🏽
When I decided to really put in the effort to get into rope skipping today and start doing it better and more frequently, I wasn't expecting to find a channel entirely dedicated to the subject. Really cool.
Also be careful not to jump too high . Thats a personal mistake I'm struggling with
Same I jump like a foot too high and hit myself in the head with the rope everytime lmao, gonna keep practicing tho I’ve always wanted to be able to jump rope like pro boxers ever since I was little
Ya' take little steps, dancin' on the spot..it's pretty easy.
"Jump rope" ? It's skipping to the rest of the world...
@@tommymorrison103 it's a great feeling to get like a bro boxer for 20-30 seconds and then bam, whipped acrossed arms. Revel in the pain it's worth it for the 20 seconds of bliss
@@tommymorrison103 lol
I've pretty much done all kind of sports from athletics, gymnastics, kickboxing & even breakdancing
but somehow i always sucked at rope jumping, so this is great help to give it a try it again. Thanx, keep it up :)
keeep trying you will get it! thanks for the support :)
This was brilliant! Thank you for such an informative video!
First day of jump rope workout. Hopefully I get use to it.
Thank you for this!
I know this was 3 years ago, but I am started jump rope yesterday and including my workouts. These lessons were just what I needed. Thank you so much 😊
Great to hear!
Where was youtube with advice like this 25 years ago when i was young and wanting info like this.
In a encyclopedia 😂
Finally the help I needed to get better with the rope!! Thanks so much!!
Second day of tripping properly thanks to your videos and I haven't felt this free in a long time! Thanks zen dudes!
The Hand coming above the waist line got me. Great Video!
Just started with jumping rope today. Started boxing 🥊 in my basement, for stress relief and exercise, last week. Got the „get strong“ set and use the 1lbs rope.
Have a lot of work in front of me, but I am motivated to do the thing. Thanks for the great videos and advice.
You got this! Can't wait to hear about your progress!
Outstanding video! Thanks!
Amazing workout !
I love your videos, many elements that helped me.
This is a huge help.
thanks cory :)
I look forward to more videos.Keep it up!

Awesome video! I just started jumping rope to try and new form of cardio. Absolutely love it!
Excellent advice! I'm on day on 3. So happy that i found you!
Jump rope technique, seriously! (never knew there was such a thing) Love ya Zen Dudes, just do the f*cking thing was one of my favorites. Still listen to that podcast episode often. Thank you for all the information!
thanks dooddd !
I just got my first 200 straight today. I dunno about the other things but keeping the rope tight and the keeping your wrist below waist and not moving it around too much are the golden rules.
A Train of thoughts =- 100% concentrate on that form!
Thank you for this video!
Excellent! Thank you.
So true on #4. Once I got regular bounce down, I was then able to do other footwork styles. It came easier.
A weighted rope solves at least two of these issues and it's probably a good idea for a beginner to start with the one pound orange rope (Intensity) when possible.
great point brother
Steven Shoemaker tried the 1lb rope and my wrists couldn’t take it. Had to return for the lighter ones.
@@Joygre1 LOL
@@33GLOCK why do my boy like that
Sounds helpful, will try to implement these tonight. I can definitely feel like I'm doing all of these, making all of these mistakes, no warm up, holding my wrists too high, no rhythm, etc...def will try, ty
SO helpful..this is exactly what I needed to see.
I could totally see Dan doing all this while directing traffic. That would be epic!
that dance move at th end! 😛
:)
yaaaasssssss I was like aaaaawwww snap....get it! get it!
It suddenly got warm in here
Yeah, i saw that in a prev vid.... and while I was jumping, I actually had a flashback of exact the thing... and it motivated me... loved it !!
Girrrrrl.....😛❤🤣😭
Thank you for the tips
Thank you, Dude. Will do. Appreciate your advice again.
Just watching him trip is SO FRUSTRATING!!!
For me it's opens up the reasons why. I'm tripping a lot because I'm not getting the rope tight.
thank you so much for this. I've been tripping out recently, one of the reasons being I just can't do criss crosses. But I'll just keep on trying daily 🙌
JUST keep on going brother!
Also zen dudes, my circle isn't a linear one when I even just do the regular bounce. Um idk how to explain but it's tilted to one side. Any help there? :3
Love these tutorials, very useful and they work!! Love you guys!!
love you back girl thank you :)
Really many thanks for such perfect basic information of how to do use jump rope it was needed . I have gone through many CZcams videos but it was awesome 👏
One thing I have figured out after jumping rope is just how weak the left side of my body actually is compared to my right. My problem was I wasn't rotating the rope with my left hand enough and thus I was tripping on my left foot.
This man did not have to take his shirt off for this video......... but I’m glad he did 😍🤤
i'm sure u know why it's common practice (apart from being really hot during a workout) but yes so am I 😂
Simp
stop looking at men as object #metoo
Hell yeah. This whole Jump Rope Dudes is an amazing project. Skipping rope is definitely fun and healthy
I applied these tips and noticed an immediatedifference. Keeping the rope at my waistline has changed the game for me. For some reason my shoulders feel sore while doing it, but I think I might not have the hang of using my wrists yet.
Great tips!
I just busted my ass in my back yard trying to jump rope... I haven't fallen in years lmao..but I got up and tried again it still didn't work 🙃 🤣🤣🤣 Now I'm sitting here watching this video... 😁🤭😁 I gotta get this...lol
You got this!!
Hey zen dudes ...just wanted to say you guys are awesome...i was on a good track with your weight loss high intensity workout...unfortunatly I broke my back so I've been a couch potato for a month...but I still watch the vids and try and learn everything I can...keep up the awesome work...#dothething...and by the way...love the new ink brother
damn man hope u feel better and can DOTHETHING agian soon! your support means the world to us!
Thanks. That helped me a lot!
Awesome channel this is very good information thank you.
Warming up is very important! For me, doing some cardio like a minute jog to get my heart pumping helps a lot.
exactly ! such an important thing to do
Also!! Now that I got my crossrope I find myself barely tripping at all. Good size, good spin, and the intensity rope gets my heart pumping enough to where I barely need to warm up!
personally I like using latex to warm up the wrist since when you do a traditional workour, youre focused on seksi muscles like chest, abs, upper back, and deltoids (or is that last one just me?) And besides isn't jump roping mostly cardio 😂
#6 tired..
when i do an hour session (6 sets of 9 minutes skip 1 minute rest 140-150 stroke).. the last session sets is getting tough and i trip few time, but not much..
kuswanto gu - that's A LOT of skipping!
Good info. Thanks
Hey Jump rope Dudes,
I learned rope jumping in just 7 days by following your tutorials. I am 35 and I never jumped rope in my life until I found you on CZcams. Thanks for being there. You are doing great stuff. Keep doing. DO THE THING...
So happy to hear you've been jumping and our channel is helping you! Keep doing the thing!
wasssssuuupppppp pppppllllaaaayyyaaaazzzzzzzzzz !!!!
I like that dance move
all about having fun!
So helpful thx!!!
Great tips…thanks for that. Able to do 2 jumps after starting today. Hoping to get “there” someday ✌️
Bro the bad thing is tabt now i get tired i never trip i just ho for a while i need more stamina
I thought i was the only one who have this issue.. But now, there is 7 million people with me😌
Amazing how the little details count. My rope was too long, so I made a knot on both sides and then, it was too short, I kept on tripping. So I just let one knot on one side and it's perfect now. Working on my grip and rhythm now. Thanks, dudes!
Very informative. I have been doing double jumps for long. Guess, have to find my rhythm and practise more. Thanku so much for explaining so well !
nice one ....perfection good on you..
Abhishek Immanuel thanks for your support dude !
welcome...
dude you r really helping me ....
thanks bro! glad to help :)
i get so frustrated! but i know it’s gonna take me some time 🥴
Thanks for making this video❤

You’re very welcome

@Jump Rope Dudes
I wanna give a huge thanks to this channel and especially this video!!
I started really jump roping 3 weeks ago since the gym is closed due to pandemic. Because of this video and more from this channel, the tips have really helped me with my form and streak!
When I started my streak was at maybe 15-20 single unders. After 3 weeks of practice, my streak is 100 or more. I jump rope about 1800 SU a day, broken up in between with body weight exercises and I feel great. I’m also doing intermittent fasting but not a strict diet. I know that because of these helpful videos, I’ve lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks time. I easily burn 600-700 active calories (per apple watch). Thanks again! Your defiantly making a difference.
Great topic to cover, most channels don't address the basis. Thanks
6. Don't spread out your legs. I noticed this was my problem when I started jump roping today. Kept my legs together, and presto, my number of trips reduced significantly.
Raf M - 100%
started skipping rope.. so far best i did was 500 skips in 10 minutes..... will definitely get better
been watching you guys for a while now,......thanks to you guys, i can now perform a double under and criss-cross simultaneously...thanks guys...keep up the good work
dude that is awesome samuel!
Helpful. Thank you
I end up landing on my cable after some rotations 🙄 its my first Day though. Hope it Will get better
error:404 - you WILL get better. don't stop!
It's my first day trying jump rope as a workout and omg I SUCK!!!! I cant do more than like 10 jumps without tripping. Idk what I'm doing wrong. I hope this video helps.
It's your first day! Take it slow, try to not get frustrated and keep on practicing!
Thanks man good stuff
Thank you for the useful tips and the encouragement. You are so cool …
Fun fact: He's not messing up on purpose.
btw, when i was jumping I was training for my black belt.. it was also the last time I saw my abs...
This video was such a big help. Awesome
thanks charles!
Im gonna have to try this out soo awsome great help thank youu...
hello zen dude fitness, thank you for the post, it was very instructive. however, I still seem to be hitting my feet while I'm jump roping. Once I watched your video I was sure that the holding hands too high was my issue but that's not the case. do you have any other tips that might help me find out what I'm doing wrong? Thank you for your time
all the tips are on this channel brother - keep watching the beginner videos and practicng thats all it is!
thank you for the quick response
What happens for me is the rope always hits my ponytail
put that ponytail away !
Geez
Elizabeth Foster have a side ponytail or plait then you won't have the issue 😊
mine always hits my dong
Elizabeth Foster put ur hair in a bun😂
Finally. Thanks for the tips.
Great tips, appreciate the help!
- Suggested Warm-up Routine -
20 Jumping Jacks
10 Squats
10 Front Lunges (5 on each leg)
10 Push-ups
Lol .. when their "warm up" sounds like my workout (do that about 3 times 👀) ... I won't even have the energy to do a good jump rope workout 😂😂😂 it's okay I'll just stretch...
Also the other tips. I try to hold my rope low, even lower than normally .. still tripped from time to time. My rope deifnitely felt tight. Maybe I'm iust tried today because I jumped rope 4 days in a row now? 🤷♀️
Hahahha thats what I was thinking
lol
Thank! This video is so helpful!
I'm so glad!
It's a whole combination of things. Like he said, keep at it and once you find your rhythm - it's pure bliss. I struggled immensely in the beginning and a week later, something clicked. Now it's 500 skips a day with trip ups every 20 skips. Getting there 👍🏻
yay informational 👌👍👍👍💜💜💛💚💛💜💗💖
thanks!
I start tripping once I start getting tired. Is this fine??
keep practicing :)
You have to be in very good shape to jump rope efficiently. It takes patience, practice and physical conditioning.
Usually when you get tired you move your arms upwards so focus on keeping your arms low
Of cool
Your video was awesome, fun and encouraging 👌👌👌...
Hey, great tips!
