The purpose of neutral plates is to lower the voltage between the + and - plates. The optimum voltage between consecutive plates is 2 - 2.2 volts. Anything more than that and you are wasting power and eventually boiling the water. Each time you add a neutral plate you are adding resistance to current lowering the voltage between plate gaps. I run 5 neutrals and my cells never overheat as long as I don't overdrive them with too many amps.

simple and looks like it should work ... great idea ...
actually, the design you speak of that higherpower is offering was one of our prototype designs that we have so far decided not to market ... it seemed most of our clients prefered the ease of being able to reconfigure on the fly ...
in a way, your solution offers the best of both worlds ... think I will discuss this with our our R&D guys ...
thanks for a great contribution ... hope others will take advantage of this ...

You can cover it with plastic to prevent an accidental short. It won't hurt to touch it but if a piece of metal contacted both sides it would short out. I take a piece of clear hose and cut it down the middle and wrap it around the bolt for protection.

You can either connect the wires with paddle connectors that slide over tabs on the plates, or you have a tab on the plate with a hole that you run a bolt through and tighten with a nut on the other side. Neutral plates are not connected to any wire.

Nice thought... however I’m wondering if there is a amperage issue... as you use pre-configured items there may be an amp limiting event. The best way I can think of to prove it is not an issue is to setup both and test..... as you know electrical current will take the shortest path, not always the best or intended path.... heat may also be an issue... i would use a thermal camera or laser thermometer on each joint... i like how clean it looks but not sure it’s the best for amperage flow... please let me know as you go further into the design changes.. thanks again for all your efforts

For a gas grill you would need a lot of steel. I would say a 8" x 8" - 59 plate cell run off of 110 AC converted to DC with a bridge rectifier. Then you would need to design a burner with many small holes.

@hhoconnection No problems. Been playing with HHO for a couple of years. Your unit is great for the guy who has lots of money and fully understands everything, BUT mine is best for the beginer with no money. This is the unit that will get everybody into HHO, just because of the simplicity. Once they get thier feet wet they will be getting into the more complicated units. If the bottle or bolt does wear out, $5-5min replacement. Heat and voltage are controled by using less baking soda or MSG.

  • @centralcoastoffgrid
    @centralcoastoffgrid  Před 14 lety

That's because making it work in an engine is very tricky. While some have had success, others have not. I personally think HHO is a fantastic fuel and we need to get more people involved to try and figure out the best uses for this amazing gas. The EBN cell was designed to be a tool for experimenters not a plug and play system for an automobile.

  • @chriskeiley5343

instead of using cheap yellow eyelettes I would consider something more robust and sturdy. like maybe 2 -4 guage wire with solder on copper ends. consider how much load that little yellow guy is trying to pass through. its nice to see you have a bus bar goin on and all that but for the long term this may build up resistance/ heat which isn't good for any electrical circuit and in the end may have an affect on your circuit protection device ( fuse/ circuit breaker ) if you have one, which might I add would be very important if you are above 10 amps.

Next time use your lighter to heat a little bit the plastic on the connectors, just to soften it a bit. If it won't fall by itself after heating and dilating, it will come off if pulled with a set of tweezers of by raw finger power :)
I had, at times, hundred of connections where I had to crimp and solder the wires in these boot-connectors and heating them made my work a lot easier.

Hi, what sort of setup would you recommend for a 2849 ccm gasoline car?
Once I get my car finished, I think I will maybe purchase a setup.
I'm thinking of going as low as 0,4 every 10 KM, you think that's possible?
I managed to get my Volvo 240 with a 2316 ccm engine to use only 0,75 every 10 KM with gasoline alone, so I think it's possible.
The setup will be put in my very rare Volvo 265 (wagon) coupled to the original, modular V6 PRV Engine, also found in DMC-12 DeLorean.
    It has a turbo too.

@enticed2zeitgeist thermal runaway is what occurs if you run high current. lowering the voltage using plates allows for a more stable running of the cell. As the water temp increases so does conductivity which is good but eventually you will start to pull more amps then your 12v system (typically) can actually drive, or you will melt inadequate power and ground wires, or you boil the water, whcih is counter productive. If you are creating heat you are wasting electrical energy.

I actually played it back, for verification, after the fact. I couldn't edit or delete my question, sorry.
    Here's a better question:
Have you tried raising your gas vent or reducing your electrolyte level to keep it contained within the Cell? This would eliminate the necessity of a return from the bubbler/reservoir, since the gas would be much drier. Just my guess. I haven't actually attempted any experiments yet.
