You should collab with How to Drink and ask him to make the Oath of Throwing it Back cocktail.
I think they met their goal!
When is next week for Dragonborn puberty
Good to see Ad Barbian is back. I love him!
Fun fact, the wild magic barbarian has a random chance to be able to teleport when raging..... wild magic barbarian is best barbarian
We were so close to learning about Dragonborn puberty. So close
Give me puberty or give me death…
Wait god no.
NEXT WEEK
We were on the verge to greatness. We were this close 🤏😞
@@amithabraham2224 relatable
No worries, we will learn it next week
This video has given me a new idea for a dnd character:
Some dude wanted to be a wizard but he has an intelligence of 8 so after months of studying he turned to the gods in order to gain power
A sorcerer who thinks he's a wizard because he has a book, he can't understand anything in it but somehow it works. Other wizards are utterly baffled that his random movements and words manage to cast spells.
@@resileaf9501 😂
@@resileaf9501 that’s brilliant
@@resileaf9501 Or a warlock who thinks he's a wizard diligently following the spells out of some weird book that he found, unaware of the fact that some Archfey just thought it'd be really funny to make a pact with him without his knowledge
I had the same idea, but for a warlock subclass - he tried to be a wizard, but he almost flunked out & desperately made a pact with a demon to help him pass his finals.
Artificers: what would happen if Meet the Pyro, Meet the Engineer, and Meet the Medic all combined into a class
As someone currently playing an artificer for a campaign, I can confirm this is 100% true. In my case there's a pretty hefty dose of Medic because we're a horribly accident-prone Party and no one has objected to having "cure wounds" cast by a demonic entity dressed in AU Iron Man armor and wielding a flamethrower for cauterisation yet 😅
splash of bard somewhere as well since flash of genius is better then bardic inspiration in some ways but also similar.
I thought Artificers just beat the sh*t out of magic with a hammer until it did their budding?
@@mattevans4377 yes but i've been reminded by my DM (on quite a few occasions) that Infusions are what seperates Artificers from Eldritch Knights
Snorting gunpowder, that's how it works
Funny enough, we had a bard in my last campaign that insulted someone with such force that they took 1d4 psychic damage. That very next week she killed a bandit we were interrogating by reading a chapter from both Twilight and 50 shades of gray.
😂😭 not the twilight and 50 shades chapter
@@estefizamora oh yes. I set him on fire and instead of letting him die she put him out and went for the emotional damage.
no wonder poor guy died it`s hard to survive 1000d10 psychic damage
Honestly I think the “Bards can kill people by insulting them” is an overdone meme, but I can definitely see how that reading would sap someone’s will to live
@@willieoelkers5568 they can, vicious mockery no?
Waaait, I just realized... So, the druids channel their spells through the energy field created by all living things that surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the Multiverse together?
May Silvanus be with you
Forget Lord of the Rings, that smells like The Force. ✨
The energy field that surrounds all of us and binds the Multiverse together is more of a weave thing, that's what wizards and sorcerers use. Granted, we dunno who created it, really, just that a goddess is keeping it going.
Druids either get their powers through the worship of nature spirits and the Old Gods, or channel the raw power of the elemental dimensions. Depends on what edition you're using, really.
Edit: Forgot to add ACKHKHUALLLY
Jedi = Samurai Druids
More like through the morphic field of all living organisms on the planet. So closer to Animal Man's powers, both before and after it got retconned into The Red (and The Green for Swamp Thing.)
Conviction for Paladin is just like the Warp for Orcs
It just works
@@shadowofhawk55 Exactly. If he believes It works, It works.
That's what Fantasy's "Warpaint" and 40K's "Red goes faster" means
So what you are saying is all Orks in 40k are Paladins.
@@downtostandup basically
@@downtostandup Sounds like you could just Make an Ork in DND. Paladin, Orc, a level in artificer maybe?
Your pronounciation of Avada Kedavra was perfect, even Hermione wouldnt find anything to correct here
Wait, so that dude is straight up dead?!
I really love the way people imitate Ralph Fiennes delivery of that line. It always makes me giggle.
You missed artificer’s. They make magic through crafting things that explode 😂
Not AAALLL of them explode
Some implode
I'm playing a cleric life domain/artificer alchemist. I talked my dm into some of the fun parts of being a healer: I made failed potions. Health potions poison you and breath potions give you elemental diarrhea. 😂😈😂
Any sufficiently advanced technology BOOM
In my own opinion, if it looks, sounds or acts like magic, you're doing it wrong.
Of course everyone has their own ways of playing their characters and I'm not saying anyone should do things my way. But for me personally, I do my best never to use the words "I cast" while playing an artificer. My current one makes wooden animalbots which may or may not contain vials of acids and other chemicals (because alchemist). So when I cast Green-Flame Blade, what I say is "I grab a wooden ball the size of a handball out of my backpack, crank the key on it, and it unfolds into a small lizard with two glass vials in its stomach. It climbs on my warhammer and when I hit the gnoll, it jumps over to the next gnoll and barfs the contents of the two vials on it, which then ignite, and the second gnoll now takes fire damage. That's Green-Flame Blade."
Again, my preference, but I think it's more fun that way. You can use magical components, but in my mind, the artificer themself does not cast magic spells.
@@trishapellis I'm playing a cleric/artificer and the party & dm keep treating the game as a speed runner game so I want to make stuff but we're currently away from our ship where my workshop is, and all our stuff was taken away after we got captured.
I want to make the jug that will let me get acid and poison.
After we learn about dragonborn puberty, Duke is gonna slap Duke about learning what all the spells do
Someone needs to compile all the Dragonborn puberty clips into one informational video
But that's next weeks video
@@anggrimunki you're right, it's next week's video
69 like
@@embracethemeowmeow4541 I ruined it
I’ll make a video for that next week
Not gonna lie, I thought Sant-AD-barian was going to chuck presents at the homeowner to make his escape.
Or freak out, accidentally kill the guy, and realize he's now in deep trouble
Honestly, I prefer the latest separation of magic sources into three groups:
Primal -- channeling the raw primordial energy of the Inner Planes, that underlies all of existence and shows itself through nature
Divine -- channeling the refined godly powers of the various deific inhabitants of the Outer Planes
Arcane -- tickling the weave, the Multiverse-defining implement maintained by the Goddess of Magic, in just the right way
4th edition was pretty cool for all the different power sources and the explanations of where they came from.
@@fairystail1 Agreed. I know it gets a bad rep, but at least its explanations for stuff usually seem more complete than 5e.
I’ve heard some good things about 4th and plan to read up on it just for things like this. The splitting of magics makes so much sense to me and I’d be fascinated to see more interpretations
@@HunterTracks its also just fun and cool to have a variety.
Pathfinder 2e has a similar (pretty much the same) version of magic traditions, except that they're four.
Arcane tradition uses logic and reason to categorize magic, so they have the broadest list of spells, but they're poor at affecting souls. Mechanically speaking they have the biggest spell list for pretty much everything (blasting, buffs, debuffs, utility), except healing and alignment damage. Common arcane spellcasters are wizards and magi (basically warriors who mix arcane study with martial prowess).
Divine tradition draws magic from divine sources (deities, most of the time), and they're more defensive and less dramatic in their effects than other traditions, although certain deities may be more specialized and push through those limits. Basically they have the smallest spell list, mainly buffs, healing and alignment/positive/negative effects, but they have ways to poach spells from other lists (for example, all deities grant certain spells as divine spells, which don't have to be from said list. Like Sarenrae giving Scorching Hands, Fireball and Wall of Fire, three arcane/primal spells). Common divine spellcasters are clerics, champions (warriors of the gods who get their powers from Oaths. If you find them similar to paladins, that's because paladins are their lawful good subclass, but they have subclasses for every good and evil alignment) and oracles (spontaneous divine casters who, instead of praising a deity, they get their magic through a mysterious force, which comes with a curse).
Primal tradition draws power from nature and instinct: and instinctual connection and faith in the world. It basically translates to animal/plant stuff, elemental spells, healing and summons. Common primal spellcasters are druids and rangers.
And finally the Occult tradition, which draws energy from unknown and hidden forces dwelling within the very layers of reality. It's tightly linked to psychic magic, so what you will find here are mainly buffs, debuffs, and mental/negative damage effects, as well as some weird, niche spells. So mental effects in general. Common occult spellcasters are bards and psychics.
Some of you may have realized I didn't mention some classes, mainly the iconic sorcerer. That's because some classes are not stuck with a fixed spell list, but they can choose which magic tradition they get. Sorcerers, depending on their bloodline, can be arcane (with the draconic or imperial bloodlines), divine (angelic or demonic bloodlines), primal (fey or elemental bloodlines) or occult casters (aberrant or shadow bloodlines). The same happens to witches with their patrons, and summoners with their eidolons.
0:27 Thank you! Finally! A glimpse of the truth! Now we just need to wait one more week…
Anyone else waiting on the Dragonborn puberty episode xD
Ikr? We got a bit of it... something about a smell....
I wonder if that could be bottled into a aphrodisiac perfume...
Yeah, tune in next week 😎
Yeah, but then we wouldn't have a running gag anymore...
@@VanNessy97 what running gag? He literally just said it's next week.
@@seymourfields3613 He said that 10 weeks ago
You know, “wizards” in Harry Potter really are Sorcerers that Multiclass into Wizard, they develop some minor abilities during childhood(talk with animals, weak telekinesis, etc...) and although need a Wand(Focus) to do bigger stuff this is a natural power of their lineage(which might overtake humanity in numbers one day, since most wizards give birth to wizards, but humans also give birth to wizards sometimes), so they’re sorcerers, only after going to a school they actually get levels in Wizard by learning spells
Yup. Well explained why I always have trouble using HP to talk about DnD magic.
Isn't that a subclass for sorcerer? Maybe I am thinking of Pathfinder.. Pretty sure there was an int based sorc whose bloodline was being a multi generational bookworm.
@@Merilirem at the very least it isn’t a subclass I know, I also wouldn’t change the casting Ability since being smart doesn’t determine the power of your magic in Harry Potter, just how much you understand about magic, like, Harry isn’t the best student and has a relatively short list of spells he uses when fighting(as sorcerers often do), but he can still go toe to toe with a Lich, who also mostly uses Power Word:Kill(literally it what Avadakedabra is, it seems more powerful only because everyone in Harry Potter has a hp of 100 or less, since their martials are low level
@@victormagoco9752 That's because Harry Potter's best spell is basically Counterspell. 😂
Every DM's nightmare.
THANK YOU! Though, only one nitpick in your explanation. Harry Potter wizards _are_ human. Also, they seem to be wild magic sorcerers as, before they begin their education, their magic is often unintentionally triggered by anger or fear.
"Touch grass dude!"
That druid: *proceeds to explode your house just by touching grass* "oops forgot my magic comes from here"
Through these videos, I really wanna learn about Dragonborn puberty now. Like, genuinely seems interesting
They are born from dragons
They'll cover it next week
It's like the Pitch Meeting videos had a baby with all of Ryan George's other content, and then that baby was fed all D&D lore and knowledge, and played D&D for 20 years.
It's beautiful.
"It is almost harvesting season."
"It is almost Dragonborn session."
Artificer was too dangerous to be mentioned, no one would think a man could gain magic from SCIENCE.
Artificers need some more love in your skits lol, always forgotten or briefly mentioned lol
And by next week, Duke means never week.
This intros are getting more creative every time
Good see Ad-barian up and kicking again!
Nope, that is not AD-barian. It's Sant-AD-barian; they are two different people.
WHY DOES THE DM WANT TO TALK ABOUT DRAGON BORN PUBERTY SO MUCH?!?
The better question is why don't you?
Because it is a catchy bard song. "Tale of the Dragonborn" by the wandering trope "The Warp Zone."
@@RoseKindred oh ok.
@@RoseKindred in D&D, that is the Tale of the Half-Dragon... however Duke already chose the Cthulu Horny Bard song to back
Maybe they need to explain that the dragonborn wasn't underage.
Reminds me of how I made a character whose warlock pact was with a dragon and said pact was marriage.
I meet some little flying, speaking, bug-like thing and was offered magic for the bottom of my shoe. Great deal, except for the slight buzzing in my ears at random hours and that I cannot recount what I was doing at the time. Just. That. Buzz.
Nice pun
0:01 “Master Dungeon…?”
“Up what’s?”
😗🤭😂
OSQ: that’s all the magic users!
Artificer: Am I a joke to you?
Nice effects. Also, I fully expect a lesson on dragon puberty now. ROFL
Ya know… I think I just realized something.
He’s doing the “next week” thing because he knows that by the time next week comes around, it’ll still be known as “this week,” so technically next week will never be in-the-moment.
Basically, it’s the “‘I’ll do it tomorrow,’ but then the next day is still known as ‘today,’ so it’s technically impossible to do it ON ‘tomorrow,’” joke.
(I don’t know how many people will get what I’m referring to, but I can’t explain it any better than that).
“Does the oath have to be specific?”
“Nope!”
Me: *Cleric of Jorthulu*
The way I see it, there are 3 types of general spell casting classes: Warlock, Wizard, Sorcerer.
Warlock: They get their magic gifted to them by entities of immense power. Fey nobility, demons, liches, angels, gods, etc. The entity can give the magic for any reason. A reward for devotion, a weapon for dominance, or a tool for exploration. As long as it was given to them by a powerful entity (not learned via study, and not obtained naturally), it is Warlock magic. Some Warlock Classes: Warlock, Paladin, Cleric.
Wizard: They get their magic through study, research, and practice. Books, traditions, self-taught, apprenticeship, etc. As long as it was learned (not given by an entity, and not derived from nature), it is Wizard magic. Some Wizard Classes: Wizard, Arcane Trickster, Eldritch Knight, Bard, Monk (I think).
Sorcerer: They get their magic from nature - like it or not. Pulling magic from the natural order, being born with this power for unknown reasons, unlocking their magic seemingly out of nowhere, etc. As long as it is from nature, in some way (not given to them by another entity, and not learned through study and practice), it is Sorcerer magic. Some Sorcery Classes: Sorcerer, Druid, Ranger.
The list of classes is not exhaustive, but hopefully this will give you a general idea.
This video felt so parody that I was actually waiting for a “super easy, barely an inconvenience” reference
1:21 That's Vicious Mockery in a nutshell.
My Sorcerer started as an alchemist and mixed everything he found in one single potion.
After drinking this fantastic experiment he stepped into the Ethernal Plane and was posessed by hundreds of ghosts until the potions effect weared off.
Now he is a Sorcerer with multiple personalities and of course a Wild Mage.
I’m currently playing a Tabaxi Sorcerer with wild magic that got his powers via touching a magic quarterstaff called “Hanten” that also cursed him with inverted colouration and wild magic (A small detail I added is that all his spells have random colourations. My characters end goal is to kill the creator/previous wielder, “Tōritsu” whose name was engraved into the staff
Oh, a video about the caster classes! Can't wait to see my favorite!
4 minutes latter.
Why Artificer get no love?😥
Artificer: "Professor I think you missed an Arcane caster"
I like how dm duke always has his yellow sweat shirt on
A sneak peek for next week’s episode! Can’t wait to learn all about Dragonborn puberty next week😁
Keep making great content ☺️ your one of my favorite DND CZcamsrs
You have now convinced me to want to play a Paladin who worships the god of “I win, you lose”.
And the artificer uses a magical tool to Chanel their brain magic.
You were on point with this one, Duke. A+
I know you probably won't see this, and probably have already heard this before, but you are an amazing creator, and always manage to make me and my brother laugh, thank you.
1:29 got me so off guard i almost forgot i can't laugh too much
ribs are hurt
I love the idea of a Bard with a tragic backstory. He was singing happy birthday to a family member and accidentally hit the wrong frequency, cast Cloud of Daggers, and killed them all.
He fled town because of the horror, and became an adventurer to support himself. He's been learning to harness his mystical oratory powers so that he will never accidentally kill someone again.
I loved everything about this
Can't wait for the next one where Sant-Ad-Barian becomes Convic-Ad-Barian, charged with multiple accounts of breaking, entering, and give sweet deals that should regarded as theft!
Player: How did you get magic?
Artificer: ...gun...
Player: What?
Artificer: GUN!
I love how I didnt care about dragon-born puberty… but week after week… my interest gets peeked
I've never played D&D, probably never will, I have no idea how to even play it, but all of those skits are making me want to play it so fucking much.
And artificier learns magic by blowing himself up so now and then
This video was so chaotic, and I LOVE IT.
I had no idea where you were going to take each and every joke. I didn't even see the AVADA KEDAVRA coming. That sent me over the moon.
Good stuff Duke!
How did you learn arcane magic?
Wizard: "I studied hard"
Warlock: "I cheated"
Sorcerer: "Mom went to college."
Bard: "I went to college."
Artificer: "I have a gun. Does that count?"
Player: hey uhm, master dungeon?
Md: up whats?
Me: is already concerned
excited for next week
So, no love for the Artificer? The class that learns how to just... MAKE MAGIC?
I thought AD-Barian was back from the dead for a minute there, silly me, it was Sant-AD-Barian all along. Great video!
I talked my DM into basically making my current druid into Swamp Thing.
*_I AM THE TREES._*
I love how he just don't have words in the beginnings and the DM is like, 'oh silly me!'
Ah, it's good to have good ol' Ad-Barian back doing the reads. I mean... Sant-AD-Barian.
Wild magic barbarian: So mad that magic starts glitching out!
Eldritch Knight: Magical warrior without multiclassing!
"oh stop it" can be accurately translated as "praise me more" at least three times when communicating with your average dungeon master.
AD-barian died for a sponsor that turned up to be the real BBEG :(
The gods should reincarnate him!!!
I love the Druid and Ranger part. Druid hugs trees but Rangers don't
-Oh!''
-Yeah! They aren't that special. XD
Wait, Artificers exist. Thou hath forgotten the humble tinkerer in power armor with guns.
New paladin oath: “I will drink a glass of water everyday.”
I am waiting for that next week
It's always "next week"
But that next week never comes
Welcome back, Ad-Barian!!!
It better be Dragonborn puberty next week.
Once i heard " oh i learded some real life wizardry and the slugs punchline , i totally called the sinker and almost died
Each week another fact about Dragon puberty. One by one, we’re getting there, right under his nose.
Then there is the wild magic barbarian (yes i know he doesnt cast, but he does utilize magic), the arcane trickster rogue, the artificer, the mistique and the arcane knight fighter
You should collab with How to Drink and ask him to make the Oath of Throwing it Back cocktail.
2:42 - Monk, Barbarian, Artificer, Eldrich Knight and Arcane Trickster: not cool, man
Got solid Pitch Meeting vibes in this one xD
Next week never comes when it comes to dragonborn puberty. 🤣

The slap was uncalled for. I can't wait till new weak.
Arcane trickster: Am I a joke to you?
I’m holding you to it.
Next week.
I'm currently playing a Divine Hunter Paladin who from birth was in training to be a priestess to her goddess before her village was destroyed. Her goddess never gave up on her and managed to edge her from the path of a rouge to the path of a paladin.
“Think more like lotr”
“No😁” lmao
Not gonna lie...with how often we're threatened with it, I kinda want the Dragonborn video at this point just out of pure sick curiosity.
FIRST AD-BARIAN AD SINCE HIS REVIVAL!!!!! :D
0:35 i am not talking about dnd but it sort of dnd base and now I want to make it so that the dragon born goes through puberty
The badbariam. Could be a neat name for a evil description
Can't wait to learn about dragonborn puberty next week!
Huh....so I can never expect another video from this channel? .....hesitantly presses the subscribe button.
Artificers:
"YOU ARE ALL BENEATH ME!!"
Ad-barian really is pushing me towards that dice addiction. I guess my dice set is quite a bit lonely. I might just get one more set. Or maybe two.
You said Avada Kedavra! Way better than Voldemort in the last Harry Potter movie
That went off the rails out the gate.
At this point, I think we want next week
