PLEASE DON'T COMMENT with that far fetched explanation that Mu'aawiyah was simply asking outta curiosity why don't you curse Aliyy.
The narration starts with Amra - it's clearly an order. It's a historic fact that the cursing of the Ahlul Bayt was widespread.
    (30) Cursing of Aliyy b. Abī Tālib on pulpits (with the nickname RasūlAllāh gave him ‘Abu Turaab).
    • This was directly encouraged by Mu’āwiyah as his hand-picked governors would engage in cursing Aliyy, and Mu’āwiyah would not prevent them

    • Al Mugheerah b. Shu’bah cursing Aliyy and Sa’eed b. Zayd defends him. Bear in mind Al Mugheerah was appointed by Mu’āwiyah and no attempts to stop the cursing were ever made. It’s pretty obvious Mu’āwiyah approved the cursing of Aliyy considering his own governors were active in such a practice and no attempts were ever made to stop it.

Wallahi it pains my heart. It deeply pains my heart when Muslims en masse defend someone who SO CLEARLY hurt the Ahlul Bayt. I don't know how to deal with the pain emotionally. The kinds of excuses, the levels of excuses made for them are just astounding. May Allah guide us.

@@sahmedmh brother, I would advise to be silent on matters which really have no bearing on your life, and your acts of worship.
Even if Muawiya (Ra) did evil, that matter is for Allah to judge. We have to remember that the prophet ordered us to be careful and desist in the matter of his sahaba. And it is proven that muawaiya was indeed of the sahaba. To curse a sahaaba or to ridicule him is worse than to remain silent if they were transgressing bounds.
And anyway, Allah is going to judge between all of us on the day of judgement in matters where we differ. So, why waste time, and emotions on this?

    • @sahmedmh
      @sahmedmh Před rokem +1

@@thedude2000zify It may have nothing to do with your deen, it does with mine. The Holy Prophet peace be upon him told me to hold on to the Qur'an and the Ahlul Bayt, following which I wouldn't go astray. He reminded us of the Ahlul Bayt in Allah's name thrice, in Zaid bin Arqam's hadeeth. He waged war against those who wage war against Ali, in multiple ahadeeth. He clearly mentioned that the difference between a believer and a munaafiq is the love for Ali.
This bid'ah of terming every apparent companion as a blessed sahabi and trying to send them to Jannah is your misguidance. I'm not obliged to follow your misguidance. And where did I curse or ridicule that man?
The reason we raise our voice about the truth and the dark deeds of the people of the past is because people like this 'shaykh' insist upon glorifying them and people like you insist upon defending them with your weak and flimsy excuses. There is no 'even if' it's extremely clear from the most saheeh ahadeeth that he did curse Ali alayhis salaam. Not only that, when one of the most esteemed companions declined to do so, he tries to ask them why not. Have some shame defending a man like that. In sha Allah when we die and are raised, we will meet the Beloved Prophet peace be upon him at the Hawdh of Kawthar. And you will have to answer why you defended those who openly waged war against Ali. Save your excuses and breath (and 'advice') for then.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that 'Umar bin al-Khattab addressed us in al-Jabiyah, and said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood before us as I am standing before you, and said: `I urge you to show respect to my Companions, then those who come after them, then those who come after them, then lying will become so widespread that a man will start to give testimony before he is asked to do so.Whoever among you wants to attain a spacious abode in Paradise, let him adhere to the jama'ah (main body of Muslims), for the Shaitan is with the one who is alone, but he is further away from two. And no one of you should be alone with a woman for the Shaitan will be the third one present. The one who is pleased with his good deeds and upset by his bad deeds is a believer.` Sahih Musnad Ahmad 114

    (25) Mu’āwiyah is being questioned about the sins in his own home.
[volume 8 of al bidayah wal-nihaayah by Ibn Kathir and Saheeh Abi Daawood]
Miqdām tells Mu’āwiyah I am going to make you hear what you hate to hear, if I’m truthful then affirm my truth and if I’m lying then deny my statement. Miqdām asked him
    • by Allāh did you hear that RasūlAllaah prohibited wearing gold (for men)
    - Mu’āwiyah said yes
    • by Allāh did you hear that RasūlAllāh prohibited wearing silk
    - Mu’āwiyah said yes
    • by Allāh did you hear that RasūlAllāh prohibited wearing the skin of predators, and riding on them
    - Mu’āwiyah said yes
Miqdām said: I swear by Allāh I saw all of this in your home O Mu’āwiyah.
Mu’āwiyah replied: I knew I could not escape from you O Miqdām. So Mu’āwiyah ordered that money be given to them (I.e. payment to shut you up).
Note how Miqdaam clearly says if I am lying deny my statement. Mu’āwiyah did not deny any of the accusations levied against him - instead he paid off the person criticising him to keep him silent.

It has been narrated on the authority of 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abd Rabb al-Ka'ba who said: I entered the mosque when 'Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As was sitting in the shade of the Ka'ba and the people had gathered around him. I betook myself to them and sat near him. (Now) Abdullah said: I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) on a journey. We halted at a place. Some of us began to set right their tents, others began to compete with one another in shooting, and others began to graze their beasts, when an announcer of the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) announced that the people should gather together for prayer, so we gathered around the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ). He said: It was the duty of every Prophet that has gone before me to guide his followers to what he knew was good for them and warn them against what he knew was bad for them; but this Umma of yours has its days of peace and (security) in the beginning of its career, and in the last phase of its existence it will be afflicted with trials and with things disagreeable to you. (In this phase of the Umma), there will be tremendous trials one after the other, each making the previous one dwindle into insignificance. When they would be afflicted with a trial, the believer would say: This is going to bring about my destruction. When at (the trial) is over, they would be afflicted with another trial, and the believer would say: This surely is going to be my end. Whoever wishes to be delivered from the fire and enter the garden should die with faith in Allah and the Last Day and should treat the people as he wishes to be treated by them. He who swears allegiance to a Caliph should give him the piedge of his hand and the sincerity of his heart (i. e. submit to him both outwardly as well as inwardly). He should obey him to the best of his capacity. It another man comes forward (as a claimant to Caliphate), disputing his authority, they (the Muslims) should behead the latter. The narrator says: I came close to him ('Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As) and said to him: Can you say on oath that you heard it from the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ )? He pointed with his hands to his ears and his heart and said: My ears heard it and my mind retained it. I said to him: This cousin of yours, Mu'awiya, orders us to unjustly consume our wealth among ourselves and to kill one another, while Allah says: O ye who believe, do not consume your wealth among yourselves unjustly, unless it be trade based on mutual agreement, and do not kill yourselves. Verily, God is Merciful to you (iv. 29). The narrator says that (hearing this) Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-As kept quiet for a while and then said: Obey him in so far as he is obedient to God; and diqobey him in matters involving disobedience to God.

Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said to him: Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. And I (also) heard him say on the Day of Khaibar: I would certainly give this standard to a person who loves Allah and his Messenger, and Allah and his Messenger love him too. He (the narrator) said: We had been anxiously waiting for it, when he (the Holy Prophet) said: Call 'Ali. He was called and his eyes were inflamed. He applied saliva to his eyes and handed over the standard to him, and Allah gave him victory. (The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed: Let us summon our children and your children.

*GOOGLE MU’AWIYAH’S LETTER TO THE ROMANS*
‏Ibn Katheer, may Allah have mercy upon him, mentioned in Al-Bidaayah wa nihayyah:
“The Byzantine Emperor had great hopes of attacking and defeating Mu’aawiyah after the latter had instilled fear in him and humiliated him and vanquished his troops. When the Byzantine Emperor saw that Mu’aawiyah was preoccupied with fighting ‘Ali, he approached some cities (on the border) with a huge army, filled with hope of victory. So Mu’aawiyah wrote to him saying, 'By Allah, if you do not desist and go back to your land, O cursed one, I shall reconcile with my cousin and we will unite against you, and I shall certainly expel you from all of your land! I shall keep pursuing you, and the earth, vast as it is, will be straitened for you.' At that, the Byzantine Emperor was scared off and abandoned his plans; he sent word seeking a peace treaty.”
2.Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Paradise is granted to the first batch of my followers who will undertake a naval expedition." Um Haram added, I said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Will I be amongst them?' He replied, 'You are amongst them.' The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, 'The first army amongst' my followers who will invade Caesar's City will be forgiven their sins.' (Sahih Bukhari 2924)
This Hadith is about Mu’awiyyah in which the prophet told us about a conquest of Cyprus in the year 647. (فتح الباري ابن حجر volume 6, page 127)
      Conquest of Cypress
When Uthman became the Caliph, Amir Muawiyah reported his proposal to undertake a naval expedition and conquer Cypress. Muawiyah advanced detailed arguments in favor of his proposal. Uthman agreed to the proposal, but laid down the condition that only such persons should participate in the naval expedition who volunteered themselves, and no person should be forced to join the expedition against his will.
Muawiyah fitted a strong naval fleet under the command of Abdullah b Qais. Another fleet was sent by Abdullah b Abi Sarah from Egypt. Muawiyah raised a force of volunteers. Among other persons, the volunteers included eminent companions like Abu Dhar Ghifari, Ubadah b Samit, his wife Umm Haraam, Abu Darda and Shaddad b Aus.
The Muslim force landed on Cypress in 649 C.E. There was only a small Byzantine garrison on the island which was overpowered without any difficulty. The islanders submitted to the Muslims, and agreed to pay a tribute of 7,000 dinars per year.
The conquest of Cypress was the first naval conquest of the Muslims. When the conquest of the island was reported to Uthman he felt satisfied with the result of the first naval expedition. That made Uthman feel that the fears of Umar about naval warfare were unfounded, ano that in future the Muslims would have to conduct campaigns on the sea as well as the land. He accordingly permitted Muawiyah as well as Abdullah b Abi Sarah to build up strong navies in Syria and Egypt.
3.Mu’awiyyah confesses he’s not after khilafa and does not object to the fact that Ali is closer to the prophet than him. Also admits he’ll be the first to swear allegiance to Ali.
(Ibn katheer, bidayah wan nihayyah, volume 7, page 283)
“I know that Ali is better than me, and deserves this (khilafa) more than me” [Authenticated by Ibn Hajar in Fath Al Bari (13/92)]
      4. Ali was asked about the dead from the battle of Siffin so he answered: Our Dead and Their dead are in Heaven, and the matter will be between me and Muawiyah. (Isnad Sahih).
      -Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 39035
      5. Prophet peace be upon him said about: “O’ Allah, make him guided, a guider, and guide people through him.” [Sunan Al-Turmidhi, Book of "Virtues," Chapter of "Virtues of Mu'awiyah," #3842, see also Saheeh Al-Turmidhi #3018]
      6.Writer of the revelation:
“It is a firm thing that Mu’awiyah was among the writers of the revelation. Muslim narrated in his Saheeh from Ibn Abbas that Abu Sufyan asked the prophet peace be upon him for three things: (He (Abu Sufyan) said to the prophet: “O’ Prophet of Allah, give me three things.” The prophet said: “yes.” … Abu Sufyan said: “Mu’awiyah, make him a writer (of the revelation) under your hands.” The prophet answered: “Alright.”) [Muslim with explanation. Book of "Virtues of the Companions," Chapter of "Virtues of Abu Sufyan," vol.17, p.2501]
Ahmad narrated in his Musnad, and Muslim from Ibn Abbas who says: (Once I was a kid playing with other boys when I looked behind and I saw the prophet peace be upon him coming towards us. So I said: “The prophet did not come to anyone but to me.” So I went behind the door to hide. I did not feel until the prophet found me, grasped my neck, and pressed my shoulders gently. The prophet said: “Go and call Mu’awiyah for me.” And Mu’awiyah was his writer (of the revelation). So I went looking for Mu’awiyah and told him: “Go and answer the prophet of Allah peace be upon him because he needs you.”) [Musnad Ahmed, vol.1, Musnad Ibn Abbas #2651, and Muslim with explanation, Book of "Al-Birr wa Al-Silah," #2604] These two hadeeths prove that Mu’awiyah was one of the writers of the revelation.”
7.Prophet (peace be upon him) was married to Mu’awiyyahs sister, Umm Habibah. The prophet was the bother in law to Mu’awiyyah.
      8. Narrated Ibn Abi Mulaika: Somebody said to Ibn ‘Abbas, “Can you speak to the chief of the believers Muwaiya, as he does not pray except one Rak’a as Witr?” Ibn ‘Abbas replied, “He is a faqih (i.e. a learned man who can give religious verdicts) .[Bukhari Book #57, Hadith #109]
9.Mu’awiyyah accepted Islam at the treaty of hudaybiyyah and hid his Islam whilst he was in Mecca. Then, when the Muslims conquered Mecca he expressed his Islam openly. (Mu’awiyyah bin Abi Sufian, سير أعلام النبلاء, volume 3, page 122)
Allah says about the Muslims at the conquest of Mecca:
“Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of Makkah] and fought [and those who did so after it]. Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and fought. But to ***ALL***has promised the best [reward]. And Allah, of what you do, is Aware.”(57:10)

Abi Sufyan appointed Sa'd as the Governor and said: What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat 'Ali), whereupon be said: It is because of three things which I remember Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) having said about him that I would not abuse him and even if I find one of those three things for me, it would be more dear to me than the red camels. I heard Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) say about 'Ali as he left him behind in one of his campaigns (that was Tabuk). 'Ali said to him: Allah's Messenger, you leave me behind along with women and children. Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) called 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family.

He was not a Khalifa, he was the first in line of the kingship of Banu Ummaya, he fought against the legitimate Islamic Caliphate of Ali and also readied an Army against the next legitimate Khalifa Hassan, he was a late “Companion” being the son of Abu Sufyan & Hind who fought Islam fiercely prior to the conquest of Mecca and when he Mu’awiya died he passed his Kingship to his Son Yazid who was the son of a Christian woman who then proceeded to take revenge from Banu Hashim for killing the father , brother and son of his grandmother Hinda by taking the head of the grandson of Muhammad and wiping out most of his lineage / kin folk. He may have done good things for Islam but he also is responsible for dividing the ummah during Ali’s caliphate which caused the death of many thousands of Muslims so let’s leave it in the hands of Allah who will judge between Mu’awiya & Ali. Sheikh please do a lecture on the virtues of Ali the one who the prophet had true love for please Ali status is much higher than that of Mu’awiya and in that there is no doubt.

Mughirah ibn Shu'bah came to Ali
(PBUH) and said “Make Mu'awiyah the governor of Levant and require him to pledge allegiance to you, as if you
do not do so and try to remove him, he will go to war with you. Ali (PBUH) replied: “I never seek the help of the
misguided ... I swear by God I will never do anything that will ruin my religion to organize my life” (Isfahani, 2002:
    16/57).
It goes without saying that the government was a good tool for Ali (PBUH) to be able to implement justice
among the people, but to seek help from misguided and misleading people was simply not right, because although
this apparently reformed the organization of the Islamic community, it in fact resulted in nothing but the corruption
of religion, so human rights like Ali (PBUH) never seek assistance form people like Mu'awiyah to achieve their
    divine goals.

Im shocked Muslims can’t even agree on muawiya and Yazid being bad people. Like the fact that Yazid had the family of the prophet killed isn’t enough to show how evil he was. Some Muslims have so little heart for the reality of Islamic history and some don’t even understand how important the Ahlulbayt is even if you don’t believe they are leaders chosen by God, in gadeer Sunni don’t deny that the prophet repeated saying Ahlulbayt 3 times. And if Sunnis think that maula meant friend, then did Muawiya befriend Ali ibn Abi Talib or did he fight him at Siffin and made a policy to curse the name of Ali father to the grandson of the prophet. Sunnis argue the speciality of Abu Bakr towards the prophet for being father in law. , but what Ali ibn Abi Talib, what about Fatima, what about Husayn who was killed by the son of the man this person is taking about in this video. Have a sense of humility in understanding the persecution of the Ahlulbayt and just accept the fact that Allah (swt) favours the family of the prophets, which is one big family, since they are all related. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to proceed to the Musalla on the days of Id-ul-Fitr and Id-ul-Adha; the first thing to begin with was the prayer and after that he would stand in front of the people and the people would keep sitting in their rows. Then he would preach to them, advise them and give them orders, (i.e. Khutba). And after that if he wished to send an army for an expedition, he would do so; or if he wanted to give and order, he would do so, and then depart. The people followed this tradition till I went out with Marwan, the Governor of Medina, for the prayer of Id-ul-Adha or Id-ul-Fitr. When we reached the Musalla, there was a pulpit made by Kathir bin As-Salt. Marwan wanted to get up on that pulpit before the prayer. I got hold of his clothes but he pulled them and ascended the pulpit and delivered the Khutba before the prayer. I said to him, "By Allah, you have changed (the Prophet's tradition)." He replied, "O Abu Sa`id! Gone is that which you know." I said, "By Allah! What I know is better than what I do not know." Marwan said, "People do not sit to listen to our Khutba after the prayer, so I delivered the Khutba before the prayer."

Whoever says Ill things about any of sahabah is not from the ahlul sunnah and are among the misguided. The sahabah are above our criticism and allegations.
The Prophet said in an authentic narration in The Hadith collection sahih Muslim.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not revile my Companions, do not revile my Companions. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if one amongst you would have spent as much gold as Uhud it would not amount to as much as one much on behalf of one of them or half of it.

    Genealogy of Banu Umayyah
Abd Shams and Amr (Hashim) were the twin sons of Abd Manaf, the ruler of Makkah. Manaf belonged to the Quraish tribe and was a descendant of Hazrat Ibrahim bin Hazrat Ismail. Abd Shams was a self-centered and enterprising man while Amr was a public figure and was called Hashim because of his generosity. Hashim became the Chief of Makkah after the death of his father Manaf. Hashim lived long and after his death Mutlib younger brother of Hashim took over because Shiba son of Hashim was too young to shoulder the responsibilities as Chief. Later, Mutlib handedover the charge of chief of Kaaba to Shiba who is known as Abd Muttalib.
Abd Shams had no children and he bought and adopted a slave child Umayyah. Umayyah's son Sukhar kept a stray woman Fakhta in his house and from her Harb (Abu Sufyan) and Umm Jameel were born. Umm Jameel. was married to Al-Uzza (Abu Lahab) and both of them were condenmed by Allah in Surah Lahab due to their hostility towards Prophet Muhammad (SW). As such, the genealogy of Umayyads is connected with the slave Umayya who remained the enemy of Hashem and this enimety continued in his descendant.
Umayyads were called descendants of a Slave on three occasions:
1- On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the Holy Prophet said to Abu Sufyan and his followers, "Go away you the descendant of a freed slave, I have forgiven you.
2- In the letter written to Muawiya, Mawla Ali (ES) wrote, "Descendant of a freed slave how can you compare yourself with the emigrants?" (Nahj al-Balagha: Letters to Muawiyah)
3- In Yazid's court, Bibi Zainab(SE) addressing him said, "O child of a freed slave, how dare you tallk to us...."

Mu’awiya‘s father was Abu Sufyan and his mother was hind. So your telling me that the son of the mother who ate hamzas liver and the son of the man who fought the prophet, is the person you’ll still say ra after his name. This is crazy. Muawiyas wife was Christian, his son killed the family of the prophet and Mu’awiya was not even a Muslim, he was more Christian influenced.

Pay close attention to wording in Mu’āwiyah ’s letter. He does not say 'Amr b. Al 'Ās gave me bay’ah upon the Quran and sunnah, or upon the truth, or what the previous khulafaa were given bay’ah upon. He said explicitly “indeed Amr b. Al 'Ās has given me bay’ah upon what I want, and I swear by Allaah if you give me bay’ah upon what I want I will place one of your sons in Basrah and one in Koofah”. Considering he is bribing Abu Moosaa (and others) with power and land, it is clear that he bribed Amr b. Al 'Ās with the same. Also, Amr did eventually rule over Egypt under Mu’āwiyah

Subha'Allah. May the one who is above us all keep us from foolishness. Having a "large belly" does not mean Ali "ate a lot". Many of the Sahabah having small waists could lead someone to describe Ali's waist as large. It's about comparisons. Same way Muawiya being "white" doesn't mean he was pale skinned, rather lighter in complexion than some others. This is a big reason why WHO translates what you read is important. Some were tall and slim, others were short and stocky.

Muawiya son of Abu Sufyan sowed biggest Fitna in Islam because he:
    1) Refused to accept Khilafat of Hazrat Ali (ES) the rightfuly elected khalifa,
    2) Fought battles against Hazrat Ali (ES) and was responsible for killing of many muslims,
    3) Aamar Yasir was told by the Prophet Muhammad (SW) that he will be killed fighting against a rebellious group and was killed fighting against Muawiya in battle of Siffeen,
    4) Invited Hazrat Aysha (RA) wife of the Prophet and killed burying her in a well.(Al-Tabari, Ibn-e-Khuldoon, Khilafat & Malukiat )
    3) Put Quran on the tip of the spears as a trick in the battle of Siffeen when he was loosing the battle, thus desecrated Quran as a battle tactics for his self protection,Today if some body desecrate Quran the whole Muslim Ummah condemns subject act. What a shame that today the so called Muslims still praise him and use the suffix title of Raziallah after his name which is injustice of the highest order and Allah (ST) does not like the unjust (Surah al-Shura Verse-40).
    6) Publicly cursed Mawla Ali (ES) in the Friday sermans which continued from Spain to Sindh for 90 years and was stopped by Ummayad ruler Umer bin Abdl Aziz.
Yazid son of Muawiya killed mercilessly Imam Hussain and his colleagues and made the Aal- Rasool prisoners parading them in streets who were later brought before Yazid. Yazid tapping the lips of the head of Imam Hussain (ES) sarcastically uttered, "HAD MY ANCESTORS WERE ALIVE TODAY, HOW HAPPY THEY WOULD BE TO WITNESS THE REVENGE I TOOK OF BATTLE OF BADAR"
