    The instruments in AWADAMA FEVER and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is absolutely heavy, while the singings are extremely happy... Extreme contrasts!

    Great reaction. "Awadama Fever" is just great fun.
    The story behind 'Awadama Fever' ... This has never been said by them at all, but yes some of us interpret how and why this song came about as being because they were criticised early on (possibly after 'Gimme Chocolate' went viral, possibly even before that) for producing "Bubblegum pop-metal with squeaky high voices".
    Next thing you know, a song about bubblegum - but not just any bubblegum, this bubblegum has special properties. Chew on this and it can take you wherever you dream of going, it's a mint flavoured time machine - step aboard and see how far this dream might go, the only limit is your imagination.
    They took everything the critics and haters said they didn't like and turned it all up to 11. Quite possibly the most polite middle finger to haters ever given ... or perhaps more likely (as they don't do middle fingers or take offence and every opinion matters to them) it is their "Criticise us and we'll take it - and then we will make something great of it" attitude.

    • @xsezz
      @xsezz  Před 3 lety +3

      Aaaah, such great attitude. The best way to go about uncalled criticism. I agree. :) Thank you for the great explanation, once again. :)

    Awadama Fever is industrial metal. Marilyn Manson and Rammstein also have Industrial Metal songs. This song was dedicated to the haters who still think Babymetal is not Metal but Bubblegum Pop. This song is fun and catchy and will put a smile on every reactors face. Kitsune Up my friend 🦊🦊🦊🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬.

    This one was written for them by the same guy that wrote 'Gimme Chocolate!!', Takeshi Ueda.
    He's best known for the electronic punk band The Mad Capsule Markets.
    The choreography makes a little more sense when you know that "Awadama Fever" means "Bubble Fever". : )
    Unfortunately, they haven't performed it since 2017 when Yui was still in the group.

    This song is right at the top when it comes to making me smile. The choregraphy during the chorus is just ridiculously uplifting and entertaining. I have never been a fan of choreographed dancing, and I'm still not, but BABYMETAL are just miles ahead of everything else when it comes to it. I can't pinpoint what it is, they just seem to make sense. Most bands just seem to think "Well, we have to do SOMETHING" and pick some of the usual moves from the official choreography moves grab-bag. In the end it doesn't add anything to the performance, it rather makes it more boring.

    • @xsezz

    As others have pointed out the lyrics might just be the cutest middle finger ever to the critics who said Babymetal wasn't metal and was just "bubblegum pop". But the ironic quoting of pop tropes starts even before the first words with the drum beats which are the now almost banal "amen" drum break. It was also used in the opening theme to "The Powerpuff Girls"...who are also three cute girls who are strong and fierce. So really this is "bubblegum" to the nth degree.

    • @xsezz
      @xsezz  Před 3 lety

    Yeah, every live performance from 2015 or more recent will get blocked unless you put some work on it.
    It you want to save some time, there is the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel that has great live performances with already a transparent watermark on top.
    The only exception to are live performances from festivals, since the footage isn't owned by the record company but by the festival itself!
    You already saw Karate, the other good one is "Distortion" live from Download 2018.
    Any footage earlier than 2015 is usually safe, as for example footage from the Budokan shows in 2014 and from the Legend 1997 show in 2013.
    Going back to this song, I just love it! It's probably in my top 10 :D

There is no blocking on this.They are made up of musicians from other bands that have joined together in an amazing formula of metal/hard rock that is quite addictive. czcams.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/video.html
