Kodak AZ901 90x zoom camera is finally available at B and H store and amazon.com. The Kodak 90X Astro zoom camera was announced back on January 2016 at CES event, the camera features world largest compact zoom lens of 90x. Even bigger than the current Nikon 83X optical Zoom Camera Nikon P900.
The camera features at 20 Megapixel 1 / 2.3 inch BSI CMOS sensor, you also get a variable tilting LCD display monitor and electronic viewfinder. The camera records full HD videos 30 frames per second and the bigh ISO range of the camera goes up to 3200.
Nikon might get their arse in gear now competition has beat them in the zoom market.
Hoping for hot shoe and raw in the P1000 as well as a larger view finder...the P900 has been a lot of fun though

The one thing it lacks is some kind of flash "trigger". be it a hotshoe capability or PC connector.
They could just put a smaller sensor in the P900 to have more zoom. And then update the electronics with some gimmics to justify a higher price. Panasonic did that with the TZ-7 to TZ-8 back in the day. Buying a P900 today won't be a bad choice, it's proven value and won't loose much value compared to a slightly updated model. Low noise and light sensitivity are often more important then raw zoom performance.
pamiętajmy, że Nikon odpuścił produkcję trzech kompaktów z segmentu premium, które z wielką pompą jednak promował w pierwszej połowie 2016 roku. Na DL24-500 to się nawet napalałem - a tu lipa. Oby podobny los nie spotkał megazooma, nie zdziwiłbym się gdyby tak było.
Tyle, że wtedy związane było to z (chyba) trzęsień ziemi, które unieruchomiły działanie fabryk dostawców dla Nikona.

I am waiting for the date of releases since last year. Meanwhile also looking alternative choice like Lumix FZ long zoom model. I hope the P1000 weight is lighter.
Considering that the tripod mount hole broke out of the bottom of my P900, the zoom hesitates, the speakers no longer work and the rubber grips have all come loose. I will be bridging over to Canon.
Hope it has an input for a microphone.

You're fooliing yourself thinking there is a debate. You agree amongst yourselves, we are only here for the entertainment value you provide. There can be some fun and interesting debate, but for the most part FE idiocy reigns supreme and we are here to watch the train wreck.
Does anyone know what battery it takes? I am trying to find them on the internet. Will the P900 battery work? Is there a picture of the battery or a model number?

Wow! In this model i can see the planet pluto.
So it's still going to use that tiny 1/23" sensor, not that I expected them to use an 1" sensor in there. If they would've gone that route the lens would have to be quite a lot bigger to get that 100x optical. The F8.3 will make that 100x quite useless in anything other than bright sunlight and if I were a betting man I'd wager the lens will be even softer than the P900.
In short, once the novelty of that soft low quality "ultra zoom" wears off... You would've wished you've gotten a proper bridge cam like for example the Panasonic FZ1000, which has dropped in price due to the FZ2000 release. FYI, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't add 4K. Which would mean you can get similar or higher quality results in video mode by using intelligent zoom on the FZ1000 in 4K and crop (for even more "zoom") or resize to 1080p for a higher quality video image, not even mentioning the Leica lens is a thing of beauty.

Sensor will pobably be same size - 1/2.3, but we'll see.

Yes the P900 is still in high demand due to the flatearthers. I'm convinced Nikon started the flatearth craze to sale their cameras :D
Personally I think that the Canon SX 730hs will be way better. It will have 100x optical zoom plus added digital zoom. Canon is far better quality. I have a Sony a5 and a canon 530hs. It's still has 250x total zoom but I really don't need more unless I am taking pictures of fkn space. I have excellent shots of Saturn and Jupiter as well as incredible moon footage.
Why this take so.long for.this.new P camera to come out do. I.have to.wait 5 years for.itOnly promises.promises but how.long can i.wait.

100x zoom is worthless without extremely stable tripod
I agree with frist part on bigger/better sensor, but I disagree with second part about 100x zoom. With 83x you can shoot handheld without a problem in bright sunny day. Shutter speed is very short and camera can always crank up ISO. Also it's optical stabilizaiton is well made.
Also "release" of every shutter speed for the base ISO would be nice.
On the P900 there would be lots of pro shots to be done if the M would be fully manual, and i mean FULLY manual.
Too much restrictions in the UI.
Optical stabilization is fairly good on photos
