- I came to the US on an F1 visa back in 2016. As I contemplate looking for jobs and remaining in the country there are special regulations I must follow. How can I stay in the US? In this video I talk about F1 (international student visa) regulations, OPT (Optional Practical Training) year, H1B Visa (Work Visa) and how to stay in the US as an international student through a journey from F1 Visa to Green Card. yess.. it is what it is and it is sad... im in psych major.. im international student as well.. i think everyone knows that our tuition cost much more!! so each semester i spend 7 to 8000 USD. NOT including all my living cost etc. I always have passion in helping people especially teenagers.. I did not know that America doesnt really care abt sponsoring international students that willing to help!
but America would give more OPT time extensions for STEM students.
if i could turn back time, i would def choose australia than America.
Hey, SEVIS fees definitely increased but it was never $500. I paid like $250. Also, an F-1 visa for undergrads is 5 yrs in total, not 4 yrs.

You have nothing to feel bad about. You haven't seen my pain. 17 years still waiting for green card in legal queue, even illegals are getting it before me. Truly gut-wrenching feeling of betrayal by the US govt.

sometimes I ask my self is it really worth it to go over all of this hard work, anxiety, fear and uncertainty when we can go to countries like Canada or the UK or to almost all countries of Europe and feel more welcomed by the government and the system all while paying less amount of money
This is exactly why I packed my bags and went back home (like I said in my latest video😂)
While in grad school I published several papers in high impact international journals and also I developed several patents. All this helped me to apply for the extraordinary ability green card while in school

Do you have any updates to share on your job-seeking process?? Did you get an offer for a job and sponsorship from that bigger hospital? You communicate really well and seem so wonderful, any hospital in the US would be lucky to have you! I'm hoping to go to physician assistant school on an F-1 visa and get a job in the US afterward. Glad I came across this video, made me realise it may not be as easy as I thought it would be to get a hospital to sponsor me, but I'm going to try anyway. :)

You need to look more in to eb3(company bdv solutions) or for certified nurse could it be absolutely a different process which would lead to a green card

So I came here to pursue my nursing but my CGFNS gave me a report that my requirements were equal to the nursing in the states is it possible to change my F1 visa to work visa without continuing studying
It's difficult for Chinese and even more so for Indians... Avg wait time is 30-84 years for legal employment based Green Card. White people countries have no waiting, they have it easy by all means. No waiting for EB visa. So good life! Born with a golden spoon.
Hi There! I was wondering how do you pay for food, living etc when you are working under the OPT? Do you still live on campus? Do you have to fully provide for yourself?
When you're on OPT you get to work off campus on something directly related to your major. You live life as normal. You make money, you buy food.

Hi Jamar! Absolutely :) I either tell them in person when I meet them or I call them on the phone and I let them know that I am an international student on an F1 visa and that I will get 1 year to work (OPT) But after that will need a work visa in order to continue working with them. Unfortunately most of them are not able to provide sponsorship an even if they are willing it is a huge gamble.

Look into other countries!! Canada, England... The US is not the only way out!

Definitely the interview! You always want to be transparent about your situation. Don't discuss payment or vacations during an interview haha but definitely always mention your need for sponsorship

Hi one of the requirements to study nursing in a school in US is to submit chemistry, biology, and other science subject scores. Did you just submit your TOR from your high school or did you take a course like pre-nursing or whatever just to fill that requirement?
I'm my university the first year we took all those courses anyway, but if you can get credit for ones you already took then go for it!

Ofc!! That's what I'm here for! And yes!! Absolutely :) if you're in a university and you want to take extra courses you absolutely can. You just have to make sure they fit well with your schedule and be aware of how much extra money you'll spend. I recommend auditing classes that interest you but don't add to your major, like acting! If you audit the class you don't pay full price for it and you don't have to take the tests and study for them so it allows you to expand your interests without being stressed

Does nursing and respiratory considered as STEM degrees? Are we allowed for a extension?
Nursing is NOT considered STEM and does not qualify for an H1B visa. As for an extension I'm not sure what you mean
My Inner Cataclysm if Nursing is not STEM you cant extended your OPT for 24 months. OPT extension only applies on STEM degrees.

Hey, I was just wondering, why dont businesses want to give you a greencard sponsorship? I am from England by the way!
Well because it costs them $25k....basically they will pay the government your salary just to sponsor you so they won’t usually do it. Also if you are in aerospace and aviation, unless you are a NATO soldier, good luck having even the smallest company to sponsor you.

@@hermannpilatus1415 well, in short....American arrogance and exceptionalism. They don’t want other countries to overtake their lazy workers in Boeing who make $40/hour riveting a wing manually. They are very union oriented.

You can apply for some modeling institude in America which accept international student and offer them f-1 visa and then email them ask them your questions,as I'm told by them ,You need money for 2 years studying your programs and your living as well which it depends on what modeling institude you want to go ,then you're not allow to make money at all cuz it's a student visa not working visa (so enough money is bet)but during studying in your concidering school you'll find so much professional agency which help you if you'll try to deal with them as well then you make a deal as modeling contract and work for them for certain amount of time which Us required to let you to stay,dont worry about that at least studying in US is the big opportunity for the rest of your way .that's it,Just go ,find a affordable and giver institude and ask them .

For as long as you're on a student visa
You could apply for a special work permit to work off campus due to financial hardship. This application costs money and takes a few months and is not guaranteed. Once you get the permit, you can work off campus and make a little bit more money per hour, but your work time is still restricted to 20 hours a week while school is in session.
Hi,, don't you think it's a little weird to ask for a sponsorship for greencard yet they haven't seen what you can do yet? What if you decide to just start working then you give it in your best and then one time just ask if they could sponsor you,, what is the worst thing that can happen?
If you start working without a guarantee of sponsorship you won't have enough time to process immigration papers and can be made to leave the country as soon as your opt runs out in a year
Will I get deported if I drop out of school
If you're on a student visa then your status in the country depends on your student status. So dropping out would disqualify you
