Fun Fact: the reason why the sagas intro looked like that is because some of the key animators had been working on One Piece prior to this game, and had somewhat forgotten how to draw dragon ball characters.
Makes sense, both Dragonball and One Piece are animated by Toei
They probably didn't take that much time to make the intro so they kinda cynically put it toghether, it's not bad from a purely technical standpoint, animations are pretty good even if the dated early digital look kinda does a disservice to it, but the art style does look kinda weird and I have no idea how they fucked up Vegeta's color scheme that bad.
My favorite Dragon Ball character is the one guy who shot a dog with a sniper rifle. He showed a lot of depth.

Just a playlist of literally every single episode of every single game they played compiled in order for you to just hit play on. That way when Chris retires the channel, we can still give him money by watching and enjoying his old content. I still go back to his old Dark Souls playthrough just to hear adorable shy Irish boy and now he's a funny, outgoing Irish man with a plethora of friends and... he's got money, a huge cock, a destroyed disk in his back but he's got a six-pack and he's all that! The show is enjoyable, it has it’s really incredible moments and I’ve watched all versions of the shows (not to be a Bragging Bobby) you just have to enjoy some of the simplicity to get to the hidden gems

Damn reminded me of a time a kid got kicked across the face, I was sitting on the jungle gym and a group of kids were running away from a girl. A random kid got stopped by her and she did like a cool kung fu pose, the random kid did a pose and totally thought some shit was going down. The random took one step and fell into a gopher hole, at the same time, the girl kicked at him. Nearly knocked him out. It was the dumbest/funniest/lamest shit ever.

Teen Gohan will forever be my favorite character. It's sad that he became a shadow of what he was. He would've been a wonderful usurper for Goku as main character.
Yeah, when I started Super I couldn't believe what they've done to him. They could have made it more interesting by having him cycle between the life as a human and sayian. But he's just a dork at this point.
@@DiranJiru I think he's become underdeveloped. What he struggled for and the adversity he took one almost seem non-existent in super.
I liked the idea of having one character not be an absolute fighting maniac and lead a different life. But they did a horrible job doing so. It's just way more easy to write a generic Shonen meathead and nothing but fights compared to making actually compelling slice of life.

Toriyama himself came to the conclusion that he didn't want Gohan as the main character. He was too different from Goku, and he didn't think Gohan was main character material. Granted, that is 100% his fault as he's the one who wrote him to be that way, so maybe it was fans and he was just making up bs excuses, but I recall that being passed around as something Toriyama talked about in an interview.
I'm watching dbz for the first time and i'm mad about Gohan. He's so likeable when he's being trained by Piccolo, definitely could have replaced Goku as the main character.
The worst part is that at the end of the cell saga, Gohan was absolutely main character material. And Toriyama just arbitrarily decided he wasn't good enough. Had he kept Gohan as the main character, then the Buu saga could have been way better with Ultimate Gohan actually being useful, and people actually getting shit done while vegeta and goku are squabbling

What he means is he tried to make Gohan the main character and the fans went crazy cause he pulled some high school sh*t and the Great Saiyaman happened. When he saw the fans were down on it he reverted back to the ol' faithful Goku.

The only real problem with the Buu Saga is it was seriously lacking in supporting antagonists. Dabura gets taken out way too quickly and Majin Vegeta's just there for a cup of coffee, so once those two are done it's just like 30 episodes of people getting beat up by some variation of the same character. That made all of the non Vegeta-and-Goku parts of the cast look bad and I think more than anything paved the way for Super to become the "Vegeta and Goku" show.
Double Sunday and Destructo Disc will always be my favorite signature moves from DBZ

In like 1999 or 2000 I had a friend over and we were watching DBZ on Ytv and eating KFC popcorn chicken shaker things and I did a hilarious sounding fart and he then choked on a chicken piece from laughing. I get why they don't like it, but hearing them talking about how much they hate the Buu Saga and Faulconer's music makes me sad because that was everything I enjoyed about watching Dragon Ball Z as a kid. My cousin introduced me to it while the Buu Saga was on Toonami, and the music and the ridiculous fucking fights hyped me up like crazy.

I used to play an unnecessary amount of Budokai 2 on GC when I was a little smoothbrained amoeba. I remember renting it for the first time at Hollywood Video because my dumbass liked the cover art. I had never really watched Dragonball before and my 42 IQ points didn't know better. Looking back now, I understand why I was bullied so much in grade school.

These were my childhood. I had budokai 1, 2, 3, tenkaichi and Segas. I actually got budokai 2 after budokai 3 and I still loved it. I also played through all of Segas but I wasnt cracked enough to think that was good.

In defense of the original series:
Goku vs Majin Vegeta is personally the last great moment of DBZ, but yeah the execution of Teen Gohan's break is incredible.
Also, Great Saiyaman is a really clever way to evolve Gohan's character. Gohan, as an impressionable child, watched his friends completely overwhelmed by men in spandex striking poses to highlight their physic and control. It entirely makes sense he would embody that symbol of strength as his own super hero.

Oneyplays is a canon prequel to dragon ball
I only hate Raditz because of a thing called "Wasted Potential". Think of how neat it'd have been for Raditz running around as a proper reoccurring foil to Goku and the gang.
Maybe before the gang get word of Vegeta’s and Nappa’s impending arrival and they will need to form a truce with Raditz, and he may agree after he learns that his comrades want him dead through the scouters. He could tell them about their current power levels which would entice them to either enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber two at a time or travel to heaven and venture towards the King Kai’s whereabouts.
However this leaves Gohan stuck on Earth on behalf of Chi-Chi’s plea and thus attracts Piccolo’s intentions to kidnap the boy, much like how he does in the official DBZ, train him as his underling for world domination. However after failing to protect Gohan while Goku is far away, Chi-Chi gets to a dilemma about failing as a mother and as a fighter whose skills are what brought Goku into liking her, and at that point she snaps out it, puts on her battle gi and heads out to find Gohan and perhaps drink the Ultra divine water from Korin’s lookout without dying due to her… Ox heritage? I don’t know, she’ll get a power up just enough to withstand Piccolo in a duel. That’s what I think would’ve occurred if Raditz had survived, as well as Goku surprisingly.

Toriyama had plans to run with Gohan as the main character when he got older... it's the reason why he turned into such a badass, and was the first one to hit ssj2 and defeat cell
