Doug always does that, he saves face and is always too much of a PR guy. It wouldn't surprise me if he freaking hated the jokes, but is smart enough to hide it.
1:02:06 I met Doug Walker at a con once, back when I was a fan. When I got a picture with him, I said I’d title it “Applejacks ‘14”. His response was to shout directly in my face “OH MY GOD, A KILLER CLOWN!” He loves when people reference his jokes and I have the partial hearing loss to prove it.

God, I've heard Chris do his Linkara impression so much that the very few times that I've actually heard Linkara speak I just think it's Chris in disguise

It's kinda amazing that everyone here understands all the old Nostalgia Critic inside jokes but not any of the newer ones as if we all watched him at one point then moved on. He's like the Spongebob for the Oney fandom.
Well he is basically the Peter Pan of internet "comedians" he never grew the fuck up while everyone else including those who used to be in his channel did. Like the nostalgia chick has a new York times best seller now and he's just making the same garbage to this day.

@@klg9549 if you mean the book it's been getting good reviews from what I've seen, last I checked it had a 4.0 at least on Goodreads. It's apparently a good debut at the very least. I've not gotten around to reading it as I'm starting a dissertation this year and am burning through a lot of other stuff for that though I'm planning on reading it soon to see for myself.

I'm actually a bit surprised that he said Melvin was a funny video when he was younger. When it was released, even the most diehard Doug fans hated it and it became an instant target of mockery to the point where Doug Walker killed Melvin off during one of their charity streams. The CA gang beats him to death if I remember correctly.

I do like how they absolutely rip on The Nostalgia Critic and everyone who used to be apart of Channel Awesome. But it comes from the fact that they used to love it and watch it, rather than just pointlessly ripping on it.

I used to work at Yorktown Mall years ago and the Nostalgia Critic’s production office was literally across the street in some shitty run down strip mall/industrial park. There’s a little gross public park between his office and the mall where he filmed outdoor stuff. The point of my story is I got a dry chafey handy from a date in that park and that memory will forever be “I got a dry handy at a Nostalgia Critic filming location.”

It's because Doug can tell that the jokes aren't come from a place of hate or malice, but from a place of satire and lightheartedness. They aren't making fun of Doug and Linkara, but someone who is socially awkward might not pick up on those social cues

I always find myself looking over my shoulder in fear of Doug Walker. My life has been hell ever since I let that Nostalgia Critic marathon play on my airpods for the entire night. Anytime I am watching a movie I hear Doug's voice constantly. I always feel as if I can see that face.. that smiling face out of the corner of my eye. Honestly i am going insane. No doctor will take me seriously as its supposedly "made up" and "not medically recognized". Its beginning to affect my social life and I find myself talking less and less to my friends/family. My girlfriend decided to spend last weekend at her friends house because of my constant paranoia. She still hasnt come back. Even my parents dont believe me. I am starting to look at "alternative" methods to end my suffering.
