The whole “Broly being motivated to kill Goku because he cried as in infant”, thing sounds like a plot point that TFS would add for more comedy; and the fact that it’s not is one of the best things about this story.
Broly's origin here is either a moment of "Truth is stranger than fiction," or "it's funny because it's true." Maybe a bit of both.
Honestly I think it's because he was unstable from the get-go; disregard the murder attempt and everything, he'd fixate on one of few interactions he had and tie it to literally every other tragedy in his life.
The sad truth, this was his literal motivation from the original Broly movie

One of my favorite TFS small jokes is when Goku is going through his list of potential culprits and suddenly gets all serious when he mentions "that monster Pilaf" - the idea that even after fighting someone like Frieza he still thinks Pilaf is the absolute worst is too good
They talked about this actually in their commentary. Kaiser said something along the lines of
"He was the first "bad guy" Goku faced, and since he (Goku) never saw him reform, Goku would assume hes pure evil"

There’s another time in tfs (can’t remember if its one of the movies or the cell saga) when Goku instant transmissions in to ask Cell a question and when he leaves Cell says “I’m gonna miss him when he’s dead.” So he does pop in a few times
Cell loves goku. Hes got the same saiyan DNA and lust for battle but hes also from a universe where goku and the androids were dead before he even existed so fighting goku, or even just talking to him, is basically like meeting a celebrity.
