    I appreciate the fact that silas keeps up his old channel for his original audience. Also glad he made a channel for those of us who only understand english. Thanks for another great video.

    That mudkiller is doing some crazy witchcraft turning such a loose and fuzzy tone into a tight modern metal tone with some of that old school filth still present... Definitely gonna have to experiment with some boosted fuzz tones soon 🤯

    Hey, little bit of friendly advice. Try backing the sustain off the Big Muff the higher the output is set on the overdrive. Much like how in an amp boosting the dirt channel with too much gain will make the tone collapse in on itself, the same thing happens with fuzz pedals. Try running the Sustain on the Muff at in between just over "off" and 9:00 with the output of the Tube Screamer cranked, then blend in the TS's own gain to taste.

    Thank you so much for that sir, much appreciated!
    Like a big dummy I sold my Mud Killer, because it sounded too bright to my ear for the tunings I playing in(D#, drop C#, D Standard & Drop C), then almost instantly realized I screwed up, thinking the Mud Control would probably be killer at de-blurring the Palm mutes when playing my Big Muff pedals.
    This confirms it, I’ll be buying another Mud Killer as soon as I can! 😂👍👊✌️
    It even makes sense if one thinks about it, because the sound of a fuzz circuit is produced by distorting the bass frequencies within it.

      dude i have interested is this sound, i have seen where people use the sd-1 for more of a overdrive boost than distortion, and adding that with a big muff seems like it would kick some ass. would love to here how this sounds

    I've heard the Metal Muff pedal is basically a souped-up Big Muff circuit with added gain stages... so basically like a similar thing to what you are doing here. Good video, you got some killer tones going on! \m/ Review some free VSTs please! \m/

    • @nailzconnely1490
      @nailzconnely1490 Před rokem +1

      the metal muff sucks
      it's doing way too much
      you're much better off with a big muff pushed by a screamer

    • @MrGallade475
      @MrGallade475 Před rokem +1

      @@nailzconnely1490 The metal muff is a badly named metal zone copy, not a muff at all really. Treat it like a metal zone and it does its job quite well.

    • @MrGallade475
      @MrGallade475 Před rokem +2

      the metal muff is barely a muff. It's basically a copy of the boss metal zone circuit with a fixed mid frequency instead of parametric eq. It only shares it's basic circuit arrangement with the op-amp big muff.

    • @nailzconnely1490
      @nailzconnely1490 Před rokem

      @@MrGallade475 sounds right
      it's like no matter what you do it's eather too much bass too much mid or treble
      the noise gate works
      but you would rather have a dedicated noise reduction pedal
      it just tries to do too much
      just get a big muff and put a TS9 before it and that's a better more reliable and more versatile setup

    • @MrGallade475
      @MrGallade475 Před rokem +2

      @@nailzconnely1490 the reason for that is it has an extremely touchy EQ. if you really take the time to mess with it and maybe mark the positions with something then you can make it sound great. Again, the metal muff is a metal distortion pedal, not a fuzz or overdrive pedal, and really is not similar effect at all to a TS9 going into an actual big muff. It's like cross shopping the boss mt-2 with a fuzz face, they're completely different sounds.
