Install EVE-NG community edition in Google Cloud

- Add cisco images to EVE-NG :I’ll explain in this video, how to install EVE-NG Community edition inside of Google Cloud as a virtual machine.
Google Cloud Providers provides $300 in free credits( 3 months) to spend on Google Cloud.
It is a cost effective alternative for creating a home lab. we can use EVE-NG in Google Cloud Platform, If we don’t have a server setup.

Command Need for Ubuntu installation to google cloud server:
Enable nested virtualization. At the end of long install command in the
shell add nested virtualization parameter. “--enable-nested-virtualization“
Command to Install eve-ng to google cloud server
command to become root:
sudo -i
EVE-COMM installation
wget -O - www.eve-ng.net/repo/install-ev... | bash -i
Update and upgrade new EVE-COMM
apt update
apt upgrade
Confirm with Y

Great tutorial, days ago i could create everything as you say in the video but i had some problems and deleted all. Today i want to create again the VM but i got some errors when i tried. Idk if this is pretty new...cause it was working. "unrecognized arguments: --provisioning-model=STANDARD"
I had to remove " --provisioning-model=STANDARD" from the command on the shell.
Hope it is working now.

Could someone helps me..I'm not getting IP on the port1 from fortigate connected to the management cloud on EVE-ng..So I cant access the fortigate management interface..thank you !
We have to assign static IP address to the interface connecting to Cloud(1-9).
Please check this video to connect your device into internet.
It may help you to access Web GUI.

Question How I can setup the DHCP through the command shell because it doesn't open ubuntu GUI only the command screen.
You can try creating new vm instances in new project. You will get that blue screen for eve-configuration.
I have the same issue. The blue screen does not show
also when I go to details the firewall HTTP traffic is off also HTTPS traffic is off, maybe because the VM is turned off?
When configuring the vm, if you have selected http traffic, it will enable http traffic @ 9:53
I come across different problems each time i tried to follow your tutorial. Now i have five instances. Some have problems with SSH ( i have set up key pairs) and for some, nodes won't start after i manage to SSH. Would you able to help troubleshoot? I'm willing to pay
If you have issues during SSH of instances, delete the instances and reinstall.
Also, if you have issues while loading nodes,check if you have applied“fix permissions “ or try deleting nodes from eve vm.
@@itideas1835 is googlecloud so unstable when it comes to SSH & SFTP connections? i'm already running my 5th instance and only 1-2 out of the five can connect to SFTP (for uploading of images), and even then, it's not consistent (sometimes they connect, sometimes they don't)
@@DebateSunday I don't think it is unstable while SSH and SFTP.
I'm using eve_ng in GCP almost day to day. I've installed many instances, very rarely I've got error while installing.
Please review below steps while installing instances.
GCP Firewall settings(allow all traffic(0.0.0.0/0)-ingress & egress).
Choosing cloud region & Zone nearby.
Allow http traffic in Firewall
Enable nested virtualization using "Run in cloud shell"
After enable nested virtualization "Reconnect the vm after 2 to 3 minutes"
After every reboot process, wait for sometime before ssh to vm.
Before using winscp for SFTP(loading of images), check that you were able to ssh eve cli.
Related to issues with node:
Remove the node from eve vm(using cli), go to the folder and choose file and use rm -f command to remove the image file.
reupload the image.
Confirm that you have applied "fix permissions"
It'll definitely work.
now it says not enough resources 4 CPUs and 16 GB of ram 100 GB of SSD HD, also when i connect to the VM only connects to the command console, not the ubuntu blue screen.
the firewall configuration was set up with HTTP support, any idea.
When you restart your vm, it will come with that blue screen.

eve is already installed. I got stop where you need to configure the DHCP in ubuntu you did it through the Gui, my went to the command shell black screen

@@itideas1835 Also address the speed. I can run speed test internal to eve-ng with 1Gps or faster to the internet.
But if I try to run a eve-ng node say for cisco router, windows server, palo alto, F5 whatever, it is super SLOW to the internet.
