I Just upgraded to the EVE-NG Pro version and wow, worth every penny with all the features. Great video describing the different 'network' nodes; and my mind is blown with the 'private' cloud connection; which has my mind spinning with ideas because I'm building a 2nd E5 Xeon ESXI 7 server that will be 'Satellite' in EVE-NG 'cluster'. Goodbye GNS3, ...EVE-NG does it all plus way more.

I have watched many of your Cisco Eve-NG sessions and I have also purchased Eve-NG Pro for my own labs.
I am struggling with one issue and I cannot even see that you have tried this, or I might not have seen it yet ? The issue that I have is that I have to build a Cisco ISR or CSRv in Eve-NG and map a Cloud Interface I have mapped to my external ISP (Fibre NTU) . I need to test a PPPoE setup and a IPSec Tunnel

For a non-trained person, what role does selecting adapter type have on clouds? I want to ensure R1 gets its own WANIP ( a private IP from the DHCP of my main router which also gives out DHCP to the laptop hosting eve-ng). Secondly I want to be able to winbox from my laptop into R1 directly. I tried GNS3 briefly and it was done using an external connevtion and an internal connection and it worked. For the life of me unable to progress on eve-ng.
Finally, when I select network I dont have all the options you see, I have bridge (as you state basically an unmanaged switch) and Management cloud0, and then cloud 1 through could 9, but no such options as "private', "internal" or "NAT" ????

Great video! (All of your videos are awesome). I use EVE-NG Pro in GCP and I'm able to use the NAT cloud to connect devices to the Internet Ok but if I have, for example, a router connected to the NAT cloud, I can ping 8.8.8.8 no problem but if I connect a PC to that router, it is not able to ping this address. Show ip route indicates the default static route to 172.29.129.254. But I don't understand why the PC connected to the router can't ping out to 8.8.8.8. What am I missing?

    • @Freezy443

As a PSA to anyone else who might have the same issue: I was unable to get my devices in my topology to ping other devices on my lan via the Cloud0 object that was directly connected. I could see the arp table on the switch filling with neighboring devices but icmp was failing both in and out. Turns out in ESXI, promiscuous mode needs to be set to Accept in the VM Network port group settings. Those packets from my topology's bridge(Cloud0) to my lan were being filtered. Hope that helps someone.
