Thank you very much for this repair tutorial! I had the same problem with my CS-435. It turns out that the auto-start and return mechanisms in the CS-435 are very similar to those in the CS-616. The same component disintegrated in my turntable. Applying your approach fixed the problem completely!!!
Oh man, big thank you! I was not able to figure out the cause if this problem, spent hours trying to fix the auto return on CS-515 without any success, and now boom! just 10 minutes to fix it! 👍🙏
ULM dual tables are good. Throw in q lock and you have a winner. Not much of a looker, but she'll treat you well and won't cheat on you. Great starter unit or back up unit. As for pimples...on ebay there is a guy in the US that sells clear opaque examples. They are of very high quality. I use them regularly. Worth purchasing for a keeper table like a 1219 or similar. Avoid the black ones as they are truly junk.
This was extremely helpful. I have exactly the same turntable. At 17:49 just above your right ring finger there is a spring. What is the purpose of this spring because mine is missing this spring? Can I replace it with a generic spring? Thank you for your channel.
Hi, great videos very helpful. I have Dual 505-3 with the basic cartridge and i get hum when grounded to amp but none when i disconnect ground? any ideas? thanks

Thank you for your solution. It works fine on mine. Didier from France.
That grounding for the spindle is big headscratcher for sure, haha.
Thank you for your instructive video. I followed your solution and it works like a charm.

Probably part of the auto return mechanism. Download the service manual: vinylengine.com
Thank you for this video i was actualy going to buy this turntable from a guy but not now 😂
how do you take the platter off...it's not coming off on my 620...does it have to be in a certain position for it to pop off?
Trying to figure out that myself, ever find an answer?

You have a ground loop somewhere. Just leave the ground unconnected.
@@TurntableGuy I thought that but was not sure, thanks for the info.
What do you use for a cartridge? Is that an Ortofon OM 10?
It's an Ortofon body with an aftermarket stylus.
Can you tell me more about the arm damping? My 630q shoots up and drops like a mouse trap.
I have several videos that show the general process for arm damping fluid replacement. You need to disassemble the tonearm base in the 616.
@@TurntableGuy thank you very much
I have a Dual CS 515 but it returns the Tone Arm too soon. Can you tell me what could be causing it?
You have to adjust the auto-return arm. Download the service manual at vinylengine.com
