A timeless beauty! There's an old charcoal gray 330i in my complex. It hasn't been driven for years. If I had the money, I would buy it and restore it back to its former glory...
Gosh, my dad brought E46 BMW 3-Series sedans with a 2.5L I6 engine and a 5-Speed Manual transmission are 1999 323i with 170 hp and 2002 325i with 184 hp in North Carolina.
I remember when I was 5 my brother bought it brand new in the red (like the first one shown in the video) and eventually changed the rims to a black and red rims which looked nice, it gave it a more sporty look. It got in its age and the wood trim on the doors came off, It had the factory wing and it looked sick. it was having mechanical problems and we didn't have any space for it since it couldn't start. My dad wanted to fix it but he couldn't since we were broke at the time. Mom and dad had a divorce and my mom drove it all the way to California until it broke down. We were living in Kansas at the time so the salty and snowey roads where we lived wore down the rear tires and rust. It would have been a long drive and it held up pretty good for a while, It sat in my aunts driveway for a couple years and eventually towed it to the junkyard since we couldn't keep it forever. I miss that car and maybe someday I will own one too.
Best looking 3 series they ever made. Fun drive too, especially the 330i m-sport with the later 6-speed manual. It's just a pity they rust so badly. In the mid 2000s they were EVERYWHERE in the UK. Seldom see them now. The E90 might not be as pretty but, I must admit, it is better built.
I've kept a 2000 323i w/ 140K miles for 10 years, sits in garage, should i keep it?, fix it up?, (some interior headliner etc) nasty electrical issues, like the windows and sunroof open for no reason after it rains--lol, i had to install a battery switch to use every time i park it... you're right about the engine cooling as it cracked the reservoir on me, and sometimes warns low coolant when there is plenty. its Got airbag lite, but the coolant system scares me the most. how can i beef up the coolant system? Or should I just get rid of it? It's not worth much really, but I like its a manual 5 speed, fun to drive? I've thought about "blowing it " with a turbo--is that a good idea?
I've always wanted to see this episode again.

I’m still driving my 99 3281
I'm glad, life's too short to drive a boring car! I daily a 98 528i - 5 speed!

I bought E46 320ci from 2002. last year. I always want this car.
After one year of ownership, I'm really satisfied.
Just recently got me a 1999 bmw 328i e46 sedan has low mileage on it
How has owning it been? Thinking of getting one, but the coupe version
Sold my f30 335i m sport and settled with this exact car. The newer 3 series just dont quite feel as special as this one
