I don't know where you live but in some countries like mine (Brazil) there are no incentives for people to buy new things, interest rates and low taxes that only make people who have capital have things, so where this opportunity exists it's easy to abandon and take it another (it doesn't have to be 0 km) the newer used ones are very accessible. I agree with you and I'm sad because we like cars and seeing them abandoned is bad.
Judging by all the factors this was abandoned by teens or some really weird people. Locking you keys in the car, untightened injector, red angel eyes all the clues are there that this car was in possession of some incompetent people, probably changed the gasket themselves.
I bought an E46 318d Touring new in 2004 and had it for 10 years and 340,000 Km. A wonderful car that will never be forgotten. A nice video. Keep up the good work.

Great video, and love the E46 model. I recently took an E46 cabrio from UK to Italy and back, cost £500 and was an awesome car to drive in the mountains of Italy and Switzerland. Long live the E46!
That looks in very good condition, I like the interior. It looks ready for use now. I have the same engine in my Rover 75. Very tough and long lived engine as you know with not many major weaknesses.
@@williammcphee7439 u might want to take the valve cover out and reseat the seals... if its smokey ... usually means extra air/ fuel mixture. but most of times is extra air.

E30 and E60/61 are better imo, the E46 looks like an average 1998-2007 European car to an extent. I own one myself, not a terrible car despite looking the blandest of all BMWs
The turbo sounds a little louder then it should maybe the bearings are slowly failing other then that’s it’s a great car and great video as always keep them coming love them

Will you continue to repair and sell? If you want to drift, turn off DPS and traction control, but don't do it because it's dangerous. I learned to control myself over the first few seasons. Like the Opel Vectra B in another of your videos, this E46 Touring also deserves to be refurbished. This one is held up a little worse, but it can easily be recovered. Then, it has a design that unfortunately many BMWs of today only dream of: elegance mixed with sportiness

I had the 6 cylinder 330d version of this car last year. Amazing performance, but the automatic transmission could not handle the power and died just under 230k km. I'll get a manual next time...I miss that car

very good car !! Only the Turbo is in very bad condition, I think that need to be replaced very soon. I also have the feeling not all of the glow plugs are functioning

Same here mines a rover 75 only thing is it's a bit smokey on cold starts soon disappears when warmed up probably bad glow plugs

after replacing diesel injectors you also need to code the S/N printed on the new ones in the DDE, otherwise the car will smoke a lot and run rough.
Isnt coding only for euro 4? This one is euro 3 car and euro 3 injectors

thats beacuse you should remove the intake first, makes it super easy.
