  • AB was 11 when she was first seen in our office. Her mother is an eye doctor, and she had been to another eye doctor for treatment previously.
Her mother described that AB's right eye wanders out. AB was not aware when this happens. She was able to see with each eye but could not use them together. She was able to bring that right eye in, when her mother would ask her to. This means that she has some control over where that eye is pointing. She never complains of double vision because she is unaware and is effective in suppressing (turning off the picture from the right eye, in her head) the information from her right channel. She does well in school and is at or above grade level, She reads above grade level.
Through a combination of Syntonic Phototherapy and Phototherapy, she is now able to use her two eyes as a team, and sees 20/20. She no longer has an eye turn. She is now more able to concentrate and her mom rarely notices the eye turn. Both of her parents note that she has been reading faster, has better comprehension, neater handwriting, and fewer reversals. She is less fatigued, as less strain, and is able to do work for longer periods. She now has fewer headaches. AB states that she is able to remember details from the materials she has read. She is also more aware when her eye turns out she now has better control over it. Her parents add that they continue to observe stable binocularity.
Through therapy, diligence in doing her home activities, she has learned and gained the skill of using the 2 eyes together as a team. We are so proud of you AB! Way to go !!!
